More interest = more money for the sport.
Anyone who loves boxing should want it to succeed and draw money, so it can continue to pay the fighters and put on shows.
Wanting to keep it your personal little secret is just selfish and stupid.

It hasn't done any damage to boxing. We'll all still watch no matter what, the casuals are quick to forgive when a contest is advertised as the best thing since sliced bread and fails to deliver. The cunts that turned up to be seen at ringside for Mayweather Pacquiao will turn out once again the next time occasion calls for them to be there.
Boxing marches on.
Damn I need another fight night, still playing the old one.
ANd yes tons of casuals are now gone. THey dont realize all the grat fights that have happened the last few months cause......they are casual ppv watchers. Damn floyd for running, and damn pac for not being the bull dog I expected
somewhere out there is another young Tyson - but he'll probably end up in NFL

Worse yet, he'll have watched that fight and try to do what he saw those two guys doing.
dont worry, once mayweather fights in september, there will be a ton of people ordering his fight again and complaining about his running and holding. its a never ending cycle.
Make over $100m quid for throwing 400 punches in 36 minutes. If I was a young kid I'd copy them
I think this fight is to far out of the box to make to many rash judgements either way. It could have as many positive effects as negative starting with the quickened extinction of ppv rather then waiting on this medium to help render them/it obsolete.
It speaks volumes to quantity over quality
Most people around in my office don't even know boxing exists. I've had some casual conversation and they are clueless but hear about the fight. When asked what I though about the fight, The ones that know a little. "It's not going to live up to the hype, but it should be a fight." am I going to buy it? I don't want to risk paying for a mayweather fight, but I'll watch it for sure and it will probably be on youtube with the hour with a hundred live streams. basically I never put my foot in my mouth so no blowback in the office. How much has it hurt boxing. Can't say we will ever see another mega ppv again. GGG probably won't get the chance to break 1 million ppv because of whats happened.
I feel you bro. I was really pumped up for this fight. Will not stop saying it's Pac's fucking fault. Fuck it, there was a time during a big family dinner I took center stage and gave my opinion on why this fight will be epic. Would you believe I even used the irresistible force paradox to start my speech. So my brother in law asked me "What do you think Aaron, you're the most avid boxing fan here?".. I remember saying, "This fight, it'll be a barn burner. That's what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. We all know Pacquiao will keep coming, and Mayweather is the best defensive fighter of this era." Someone asked who I think will win and I said - "Manny Pacquiao. Because if he does his thing, and Floyd does his.. the judges will surely favor Pacquiao because he's the one throwing punches although Mayweather may have dodge 80% of it." That's why I've always said before the fight that Mayweather has to follow the Marquez blueprint of fighting fire with fire. In my mind, it's gonna be fucking epic.
The best part of it is when I awed everyone with my response when they asked if who do I want to win. I said "Floyd Mayweather. Unlike everyone else, my mind says Manny but my heart goes with Mayweather. Floyd has never been cut bad, battered or downed hurt seriously during his career. I want Manny Pacquiao to be at his best and push Floyd to the point that he has to dig down deep and put himself to an even higher level. That will be a great boost for boxing. Drama is always good for any sport. Pacquiao is already loved by many and they will continue to love him even after a loss. I want the world to respect Floyd Mayweather, the fighter, as he deserves. But overall, I don't really care much who wins. As long as they make a fight that will be for the ages." I think I got a semi-standing ovation after that.
Didn't fucking happened and I blame Manny Pacquiao for making me look like a melodramatic fool.
I get all sides of this "casual" argument
Yes I do quite enjoy the hype when the casuals get involved, look at the way they elevated the Froch v Groves fight, it got everyone in the UK talking, half of them had never heard of Froch before and even less had heard of Groves but as soon as the media train starts moving they lap it up and it's great to see boxing everywhere for a few weeks before and a few days after the fight.
On the other hand it fucking annoys me when they start talking shit at me and thinking they are experts because the promo shows one fighter throwing bombs against a multitude of fighters over 45 seconds, you try and explain to the the reasons behind their predictions and they have no interest because even though you have watched each fighter and followed their career for years they obviously know more than you because they read Frank Warrens weekly column in the sun
It won't put them off though they will be back, we only really get fights like these every few years
Haye v Klitschko
Haye v Chisora
Froch v Groves
BJS v Eubank Jr
Freddie Flintoff v some fat dude (the amount of people I know who ordered box nation just for that one 4 round fight was unreal)
Mayweather v Pacquiao
That's about 5 fights in 5 years that the UK have got hyped up about, I can live with that I recon
P.s. The Freddie Flintoff bit was a joke
