Yep. When Benn and Eubank became massive names there were four TV channels. OK, Sky had started the year before their first fight but they only had a few subscribers. No internet, no mobile phones, no social media, four channels on the telly. And boxing had up to the seventies been one of two guaranteed ratings hits, more than football believe it or not. So lots of people in the eighties with a memory of watching big fights (when there were two and three channels).
There's so much what we now call content these days, TV, internet, mobile communications and so on, that everything now is just fragmented and there's no way to replicate those mass audiences again. Maybe if England ever get to the semi finals of the World Cup, but otherwise no.

Also Master, watch less porn, more boxing. Otherwise you're going to have tog et your shirts specially made.

Have always back Quigg in what should be a barnstormer. Still think he is too clever boxing wise to fall into Framptons traps. Scott will box to a plan and that will be the undoing of Frampton. Quigg by bodyshot KO, mid rounds.

Just booked flights for this. Only 20euro return so bargain even if I fail to get tickets.

Sounds perfect now only if it was on radio 5 live life would be perfect.

Fantastic, but it seems light years away. Hope i'm still alive.
Keep changing my mind about who wins. Always favoured Frampton but I have a feeling for Quigg (will certainly end up with a bet where they're both fighting for me :D)
re: Frampton v Quigg - February 27th 2016 Manchester Arena
Finally. Glad they got it done. Hopefully the winner stops avoiding Rigondeaux.

The pity for Rigo is overdone. He has promotional and managerial issues that he hasn't been able to get past. This is a major showdown at junior featherweight. Let's just be happy that it got made.
As to the fight, I always favored Frampton, but his performance in his last fight had me scratching my head a bit. If that guy can put him down twice . . . I might lean Quigg.

Not on sale yet. If you are planning to support Quigg Id recommend signing up to matchroom fight pass. Is 40 pound for the year but gives you access to presale tickets. This will sell out quick. If you are supporting Frampton you can get tickets off Cyclone Promos in a few weeks. Again you want to be ready to book as soon as they go onsale.

I must admit that Rigondeaux has to pocket some of the blame for his inactivity and decisions not to move up or down to make meaningful bouts, but the fact the other top names in the division did everything possible to detour around him should not be ignored.
Like I said I'm glad they got this done and if Rigo can get active then the drums will start beating for the winner to fight him.
re: Frampton v Quigg - February 27th 2016 Manchester Arena
Rigo needs to suck it up and take less money before its too late for his career. Take the fights prove your the best then you can demand shit. Fucking entitled generations.
re: Frampton v Quigg - February 27th 2016 Manchester Arena
Cracking fight and about time they got the deal made. Good long training camps mean they should both be right on it by February. Frampton for me, but an argument can be made for either fighter winning. Shame that it is likely to be a PPV. *booooo*
