Re: Eubank/Saunders rematch?
I have decided that Saunders is overrated and I'm going to back him to lose by KO every time he fights, don't mind me;D

Maybe he started slow because he didn't have enough ringcraft to suss Saunders out?
If it happened again, the result would be the same.
He didn't have ANY experience, it was the first good boxer he had faced and he was able to hurt him repeatedly once he found a home for his shots. You could be right, but that wouldn't say much for Eubank. I feel like rematches usually go to the guy who was able to genuinely hurt their man the first time.
Yes he has more experience, but my point is he needs to do something better than he did in the first fight. Those first 6 rounds weren't a slow start , it was a "Boxing brain" thing.
He needs to find a way to get in range and land , maybe improved footwork . Those are things I haven't seen.
He was managing to land in the second half of the fights because he was fitter than Saunders, I'll give him that all day long.
My point is that Saunders is a good , but not brilliant fighter, but he was far too savvy for Eubank, so where does that put Eubank?
Answer. Not as good as him or many people think.
Re: Eubank/Saunders rematch?
You're probably right, and I kind of wasn't factoring in the two being the same age. Even still, there are no good fighters in England, they all bums! I got milk baby!

Re: Eubank/Saunders rematch?
Eubank is better now as he has gone the distance and that experience will give him extra confidence in the rematch.
Saunders will be better because he is now champion and will pace himself better.
Re: Eubank/Saunders rematch?
I was in the Jr would win a rematch camp. However, watching their latest fights against Spike and Lee I don't see why Billy Joe wouldn't outbox him again. To slick, clever with no evidence he can be easily chinned.
I also think Jr's power is overrated. He hits good fighters with the kitchen sink without decking them. Either he's unfortunate to keep coming up against granite beards or he's not banging as hard as it looks.

Saunders surprised me with the Lee win. I felt Lee held back a little. But at the end of the day, not really sure if Lee pulled the fight because he didn't want to even discuss the possibility of fighting GGG. Stranger things have happened.
But, Eubank/Saunders rematch? Saunders may not give him one, and why should he? lol....
;D
Saunders promised eubank a rematch after he won a title. So Saunders has his title so he should honour his word and offer the re match but don't see if happening if I'm honest, I think Saunders knows he will get beat and would rather get beaten by a bigger name than eubank jr.
Saunders said he would give him a rematch on his terms after he won a title.
I don't know if discussions have even been mentioned yet but I can see that being a massive sticking point given the size of JR's ego
I'm not too sure about that, I think eubank would fight him for free to be honest he's desperate for that re match

I don't think Eubank or his Dad would even Fart for free! If you don't believe me, ask Hearn or Warren . He's left Hearn to pursue a British Title belt over a World Title strap for the sake of 10 or 20 grand, and Warren has said on numerous occasions that they are impossible to do business with.

Obviously he was joking about free but what he is saying Eubank would jump at a chance for revenge but he will wait as he has his pride and ego.

Froch/Groves comes to mind? Shavers/Holmes? lololol... Corrales/Castillo?

He's not a banger. Partly because he is not that good of a boxer. Saunders chinned Lee because Saunders knew how to punch, and Lee was just standing there.... Eubank couldn's possibly chin Lee by the way he fights.
All that said, Jr. has that "Larry Holmes" kinda power. Not enough to disable you like a frag grenade, and certainly not nuclear bomb power ala Tyson/Lewis/Tua, but more like FLASHBANG grenades.... that if thrown close enough you can rip your arm off, or lose an eye, at the very least. But to say it would be fatal upon impact each and every time? Nahh... Just enough to disorient you from seeing the incoming fire, which by both Holmes and Eubank's standards IS fast and furious.
Re: Eubank/Saunders rematch?
I believe Eubank can go one better and win a legitimate title and then will have more leverage over Saunders.
Ironically a bit like when Benn won the WBC title in Italy and negotiated a better deal against his dad.

I don't reckon a Eubank will beat Jacobs IF he ever fights him, and I don't think he fancies his chances either. The only other champs are Saunders, Canelo & GGG.
And anyway , what do you mean by "can go one better and win a legitimate title ?" Isn't Saunders Title legitimate? And if Eubank wins one , why is it "one better?" :)
