Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Brewster vs Lya-who? Kovich!
Yeah it was a boring fight, but the last two rounds were good. Jones picked it up, I give him credit for that. But he has to live with the fact that he could have picked it up in the second round and won the fight.
I still can't believe James Toney lost to Montell, heh.
Brewster...
... I don't know. (serious voice)
I hope I can see that fight.

Is this Brewesters first fight with McGirt as his trainer?
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Brewster vs Lya-who? Kovich!

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Brewster vs Lya-who? Kovich!

Yep, many are criticizing Brewster for leaving Jesse Reid, who trained him for his last fight and the Golota fight.
Both those fights were excellent.

I must admit I still don't know what exactly to make of McGirt (as a trainer), On one hand I greatly respect him as a boxing insider/mind, but I must say that when I watched Mayweather-Gatti he was absolutely worthless. Honestly, I challenge you to watch that again and give me a poorer example of 'tween round advice, not that it would have mattered much, but C'MON! that 'stay the course you're doin' fine
$#!+ was WAY out of place when your guy's standing in no-man's-land getting peppered like a T-Bone.
Buddy, I suspect you may be WAAAAAAAAAAAY Overrated.

what ever he said was going to be wrong!! ^-^ he sure as hell couldnt tell the truth.. " Arturo nothing you do can win you this fight" ;D
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Brewster vs Lya-who? Kovich!
McGirt gave good between round advice. Gatti just isn't the guy to be able to do what McGirt said.

Brewster: I'm the only heavyweight champion knocking people out!
Saturday, April 1 2006
http://www.fightnews.com/fightnews_2...ydoEOxDfK.html
"I am getting a chance once again to show that I am the best heavyweight in the world," says WBO heavyweight champion Lamon Brewster, who faces Sergei Liakhovich tonight in a bout to be televised LIVE on SHOWTIME tonight at 11PM ET/PT.
Naturally, all of the four current heavyweight beltholders maintain they are the true heavyweight champion, but in in terms of recent performances, Lamon Brewster (33-2, 29 KOs) stands at the top of the food chain.
"If you look at my fights and compare them to anybody in the heavyweight division fights, mine are the most exciting," says Brewster. "I am the only one in the heavyweight division knocking people out. What other champion is out there knocking people out? Is that not what you really want to see? Or do you just want to see two people just throwing a thousand punches at each other, breathing hard, holding onto each other?"
He's got a point...who wants to see two menzes breathing hard & holding onto each other?
I'll give you one guess...he's a mod...& he aint me. ;D Heh heh heh.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Brewster vs Lya-who? Kovich!
I like Brewster, but my gut tells me that this one favors Lyakhovich. Lya is a pretty good boxer and is a lot taller than Lamon, I have a feeling that this guy is gonna bring out the worst in Brewster and even possibly TKO him late or get a lopsided UD. I hope im wrong though

I am curious to see how much McGirt has done with Lamon. If any big changes have been made offensively or defensively.

Me also...I always say that you can't teach an old doggy new tricks...let's see if Buddy can prove me wrong.
