Ricky does indeed bring the pain ;D
He is probably at ATG status in the UK now yeah, but on a world level nowhere near. He needs to fight and beat Cotto (will NOT be easy at 147, although Cotto is untested at this weight), Castillo (should do him) maybe even zab/Corrales. I dont think rematching Collazo will effect his legacy, he already has the win, not a convincing one to be fair.
Beating floyd at 147 would be definate ATG status, it would close the book, end of argument. Unfortunatley Ricky cant beat Floyd at 147... At MOST Ricky would give Floyd TROUBLE at 140 and thats it, IMO.
So ATG great status on a WORLD level for Rick is prob not gonna happen. Which is a shame because he is a good lad.
So what im saying is, the guys mentioned above ^ Rick HAS to beat to achieve ATG status...Im just not sure he can beat them..
And dont get me wrong here, im a fan of the guys, When he beat szyu it took me about 2 days to come down from the buzz. BUT I just aint sure how seriously he takes his boxing, im not kidding. WTF is he thinking with his weight between fights? I know its an old subject, and he's done if for a long time. But ffs he needs to show himself/the sport a bit more respect. You aint gonna catch Mayweather walking round 3 stones over his fight weight. This is whats gonna catch Ricky out in the long run..
Which British fighter isn't ATG in the UK?

Re: Is Ricky Hatton one of the All Time Greats?
You really think so mate? Or are you just trying to be like Starr when she likes to go row against the current and predicts outrages things?
Dunno, hes fast and all but IMO the thing that bothers me the most is his stands his feet are way toooo far apart I mean any more and he would be doing the split..... I think both Haye and Enzo can become world champs....

KHAN has everything apart from one thing...
his chin and how he handles a shot aint great and has shown a few leaks already.
see if you can find a copy of his fight against Laszlo Komjathi you'll see what i mean ;)

i think his chin is fine how many times in 41 fights has he been down twice ?? cant remember how many times but hardly ever he is good fighter not quite great at moment he needs few more big names but he is still good solid fighter yea he gets shook up few times but who doesnt with his style u do sometimes get rocked and maybe u get floored but with his brawling style that sometimes happens but he has got through every test so far so i consider him good fighter but not quite great yet

Re: Is Ricky Hatton one of the All Time Greats?
thanks for clearing that up just went back and edited my post ;D
Re: Is Ricky Hatton one of the All Time Greats?
lol sorry thought u was on about hatton my bad  ;D
Re: Is Ricky Hatton one of the All Time Greats?
Well Ricky Hatton right now is a good fighter, more than likely Hall of Fame material, he's won over 40 fights, he beat Kostya Tszyu, he's undefeated at the moment.....he's won a couple belts here and there
To consider him GREAT he either has to beat another great or fight a LOT of good competition and beat them soundly. Sure he had a bad fight vs Collazo but Luis would give ANYONE a hard time, he's a lefty with a good defense and decent punch.
My career advice for Ricky Hatton 5 fights (after the Urango one) then retire
1. Diego Corrales 140
2. Jose Luis Castillo 140
3. Arturo Gatti 147
4. Miguel Cotto 147
5. Zab Judah 147
and if possible a Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight but that is waaaaaaay outside of the relm of possibility if he loses to anyone.
Another fighter that may be decent for Hatton to fight is Shane Mosley, he likes to brawl, he stays in close every now and then, and he's getting older....and he'd make you a TON of money but it would be an uphill battle the whole night.
Ricky has the oppertunity to become great he just has to make it happen.
