Yes. Very true. Welcome aboard. C.C. Every since Lewis retired there has been a rift in the division that hasn't been filled. I can understand Klit wanting to avenge his loss to the REAL champ in light of the fact that in the publics eye nobody has been able to fill Lewis' shoes. That includes both Klit brothers.
Thanks for the welcome. Perhaps Vitali is trying to become the guy to fill Lewis' shoes. There isn't much else he could say that would have us all talking about what he said. So now we'll all be interested in what he'll be doing next???
He certainly isn't going to do that by calling Lewis out... bah, the division is so crap.. All Vitali could really do to impress anyone is beat Sam Peter convincingly, and since it seems Peter will get Maskaev before Vitali, Klitschko will pretty much have to go that way.

Yes agree with that. It's a shame about the division - perhaps it's in a "rebuilding phase"? But I guess there would be no post here (or at least as long as this one) if Vitali was calling Sam Peter out.

Re: Vitali Klitschko: "I Know I Beat Lennox Lewis"
Vitali should quit whining and accept the fact Lewis is never gonna return and also accept the fact Lewis mashed his face up to the point of no continue.
Yeah Vitali was leading on the cards so what,Leading on the scorecards dosent help when the fight is stopped does it.
Also he may of lead on the cards but Lennox the Great always found a way to win :)
Vitali continue your career and stop whining like a girl.

Re: Vitali Klitschko: "I Know I Beat Lennox Lewis"
Looking at the video clip it seems to me its quite a surprise that the fight was stopped. Listening to the commentary of the previous round it was all about Vitali is on top, Lewis is shot and cant hardly stand, and Vitalis just got to keep going and he will win.
So why at that point was it stopped, either:
1. The cut - but Lenoox was shot by that point so it couldnt have got any worse
2. The powers that be didnt want Lennox to lose, and by that round it was looking like he would.
Theres a lot of people who think option 2, and Im one of them. It was a very fast decision straight after the bell - they didnt even ask the cornermen or Vitali... i think it was highly questionable

Mate Lewis was no more 'shot' that Vitali was at that stage - and did you see Vitali's face?? That fight had to be stopped - infact it went on far to long!! The damage was caused by punches and therefore Lewis did what he had to do - doesn't matter what the scorecards said - Did Herol Graham beat Julian Jackson? Did Meldrick Taylor beat JCC? Did John Tate beat Mike Weaver??
NO!!

Because people think Lewis was better and won the fight....and people won't shut up about that fight...it is always within earshot of Vitali so why wouldn't he still address what we are still talking about???....

Foreman-Holmes, Larry ALWAYS called out George and STILL DOES!
Shavers-Foreman, same as above
Tommy Hearns-Ray Leonard...Hearns called Ray out on Ringside just a couple months ago!!!!
Frazier-Ali.....I bet you Joe STILL wants to whip Ali's a**
Fighters have memories like elephants.....they remember the littlest slights and the most insignificant events if they perceived any kind of disrespect.
All I can say is get off Vitali's a**....so he wants a rematch with Lewis so F****** what he's entitled to say what he wants. Vitali lost the fight but he feels like it was like Ali-Quarry I where he had a chance to win if it weren't for the cut and honestly A LOT of people agree with him.
And Landmine yeah Vitali was bloody but what does it say about a guy who took that damage and never quit vs a great champion like Lennox Lewis?
Show some respect when you talk about one of the best heavyweight fights of the last decade! Both those guys put their hearts out there and showed people what heavyweight boxing was all about and a freak accident caused the stop of the fight.
And when I say "the cut" I'm talking about the one on his eyelid and not the one on his cheek....that was all Lennox right there.

Exactly...maybe they never had something they knew was in the palm of their hands taken away from them or something like that....maybe they don't posess that competitive edge....Heck, I want to find that guy that picked on me 20 years ago and beat his a** sometimes....I just don't talk about it much....:)

They have different commentary crews for different networks. I got Bob Sheridan and in the sixth round he was saying that Lewis was starting to beat up Klitschko (which he was). I had the bout 57-57, the first two rounds and the fourth round going to Klitschko, the third, fifth and sixth going to Lewis. I don't care what the judges said, a lot of people had the fight this way.
I really can't fathom why you're saying that the stoppage was rigged. Vitali's face was one of the most badly cut up I've seen in a boxing match. You'd really have to be delusional to think that the stoppage wasn't warranted.

Agree. Vitali is a great fighter and was never going to give up, that's one of the reasons he's so good. He needed the fight to be stopped IMO. If you want to see a questionable decision see Green vs Beyer 1.

Re: Vitali Klitschko: "I Know I Beat Lennox Lewis"
i think vitaly has a point of still addressing he should of won, it was a great fight, and keep in mind vitaly has only lost a boxing match over an injury and when he just couldn't compete much longer due to injury, and this was one of those fights he felt he could continue despite the cuts, and he knew he should of won so his still a bit bitter, shyt i would too, that was a oppertunity to take out the champ and vitaly should of, if he wasn't force to stop fighting.
anyways it was a great fight, that shouldn't had gotten stop vitaly was whooping lewis imo. he could of k.o'ed him.

Re: Vitali Klitschko: "I Know I Beat Lennox Lewis"
the point I'd like to make about this fight was that it was a fucking brawl! When two guys who hit as hard as that stand toe-to-toe, it only takes one punch to finish the fight. Both Lewis or Klitschko could've knocked the other out in the next round. To say that it was all going Vitali's way is bullshit, Lewis was right in there brawling with him, and the last punch he threw, the last punch he EVER threw, that uppercut, should be proof that Lewis was by no means out of this fight.
End of the day we'll never know. Lewis won, fair and square, Lewis dragged Vitali down into the trenches and Vitali's white skin couldn't last it out. Never mind. Why don't you wrote to Henry Cooper Klitschko, I'm sure he knows how you feel.

Yeah? ::** And just a few young lads kicked (at the time) one of the foremost military powers out of 26 counties in 1922 to form a Republic and provided the foundation for modern espionage and modern guerrilla warfare, which was later studied and adopted by the Israelis to get the Brits out of Israel. You heard the man, he's 39, he's not stupid, the body has limits and besides, he's regular in most people all-time greatest 10 heavyweights list, what the fuck else does he need a prove? Its not like he's hiding behind excuses, he sounds brutall honest to me. No Bullshit. He owns half of montego bay, he plays chess, he has a beutiful wife and a young kid. He's happy as fuck, leave him be! No amount of money would make me want to gamble with any of these things. If I was a multi-millionaire FUCK WORK, especially if work means getting punched in the face by Vitali Klitschko. No Thanks.
Lennox was THE MAN in his era, just like Ali was in his era and Louis was in his. Look at the state Ali and Louis ended up in, despite how much they were loved by the general public. All because they carried on fighting too long. Case Closed.

C.C. for the the vid. Lewis already made a fortune in the ring and stopping Tyson was the icing on the cake for his career. As he said, he accomplished all of his goals and Vitali needs him more than Lewis needs to take the fight. Vitali should form a search committee to investigate the probability of getting contributions from promotional and private entities to get that purse up to 50. That way we can stop hearing him cry about his T.K.O. loss , and as a peripheral perk, he gets to wet his noodle once again in pseudo-politics.

There clearly was enough money to get Lewis back in the ring as the video shows but his demands werent met . Lewis is from a different era. He is one of those guys that means what he says so from his perspective why should he rematch a guy he's already stopped in 6 rounds when the money isnt good enough ? No reason whatsoever . He's done it all .

i agree. lewis is from a diffrent era.
he was the most domninant heavy of the 90s no doubt. Klitschko was an amateur when lewis was winning his first world title.
he is a top 10 heavyweight of all time in my opinion who has avenged his 2 defeats in emphatic style and has beaten everyone in front of him.
why risk it

You think Lennox wants to end up like Ali or Holyfield??? Foreman was a huge exception, no other fighter has ever been able to compete on that level at that age side from those of long past generations.... It's funny as hell that you can somehow find a way to blame Lennox for staying retired after all he's accomplished. When Vitali retired last year after beating Danny Williams, Sanders, and Kirk Johnson, you probably said the same thing about his retirement as people are about Lewis' now. That he had enough money, and there was no reason for him to risk his health. Well guess what. Lennox has a whole lot more money, has beaten a whole hell of a lot more top HW's, and is 6 or 7 years older. You think Vitali will be around in 5 years?? Course not. Don't be so biased.

Re: Vitali Klitschko: "I Know I Beat Lennox Lewis"
I don't see a problem with Lewis staying retired OR with Vitali calling him out....things like this happen all the time

Not too bad for those on the left end of the bell curve. ;D ;)
Yeah and there was a potato famine........and yall all died
....nearly ;D .....I mean who bets their livelyhoods on POTATOES??? HAHAHAHA.....dumb bastards
;D You just don't know when to quit, Lyle. I've been verbally biatch slapping your obtuse assss for quite some time. Read some history you ignorant simpleton. An gorta Mor/ A.K.A. the great famine, happened in the 19th Century. However, although the potato crop was a great source of industry in Ireland, boat loads of meat and other types of sustenance were taken by shiploads at gunpoint by the British Empire. Using the term "Potato Famine" is tantamount to calling the Jewish Holocaust "The Oxygen Famine"; indeed it was a Holocaust, and the resiliency of the Irish (even encapsulating the Diaspora) speaks for itself. Here's a link for you to read: http://www.irishholocaust.org/
After you're finished with that, make sure you tell your cross-dressing sister to get my steak ready and wash her dirty feet or I'm not buying her a new out-house. :boxingmatch:  :) ;D
I warned you to lay off the Maker's Mark. I guess you didn't follow my sage advice. :-\

This guy is OBSESSED~! I hope Sam Peter KTFO all of the HW's..Maskaev,anad both Klits in particualr because they are looking to screw him!
It was a good fight but lets not forget when it ended Lewis was the fighter getting stronger.
Klit had throw his best shots and they were not good enough.
If the fight had gone on Lewis would have won with out any of this bull shit about an earlly stoppage.
Vitali's reputation is built largely on the myth that he would have beaten Lewis if the fight had gone on.

If you'd simply pay attention perhaps you would know why I crossed such a line

not really, I just wanted to grab your attention and say YOU NEED TO LET IT GO......let it go
I don't know, Lyle. I find this quite amusing in the most puerile of senses. ;D
So let us stop this bickering....before I am unable to enjoy St. Patty's Day
And yes British people, I celebrate St. Patrick's Day.....I'd celebrate St. Andrews or whatever freaking day yall celebrate but no one here in the US is drinking then....all I need is the date of the celebration and some booze.....and some bitches....I'd celebrate every damn day if I could.
And Shadow, I have no allegences to any country other than the US as I am what you would call an ethnic mutt...my family is from all over...the UK and France as well....but no Germany or Italy or anything like that. And when I am not in a heated debate I am very respectful of all other cultures.
