Rough tactics can open a guy up, especially if they are inexperienced or not used to going up against that kind of adversity. Some fighters lose their composure if they feel that things are becoming unfair.
Have you seen the Sam Soloman vs Max Alexander on the Contender? Well it was frustrating enough going against a style like Soloman's, but he wasn't mentally prepared to handle the roughness that comes from Soloman. Soloman had that move where if you didn't tie him up, he'd break out of the weak clinch and drag a right uppercut right up your chest and into your chin. Max being the taller man tended to lean forward in a clinch which consequentally put his throat in the path of Sam's uppercut. That + an accidental headbut and more proved to be more than what Max could take. If he had trained at a place where he could spar with real professionals then maybe things would have turned out differently. This happens to a lot of fighters. You gotta be ready for unfair, no matter what sport you're playing.

Good stuff, although I've seen it all. I did like the part where he talked about how to escape out of an armbar in a clinch. This reminds me, I have an old post spanning many pages on all dirty tricks that I've found that I took off the board a year ago. I'm considering editing it again and bringing it back up.

You throw a big looping hook to the back around the kidney as he's walking in. The ref wont call it if you only do it occasionally because you can squall "He was coming in,I was going for the body".
But it will certainly take some of the wind out of their sails if you do it
If you do it all the time the ref might call it, so watch your timing. Let the other guy set the shot up for you. Because if you instigate it,and do it repeatedly the ref,at the very least is going to warn you. But even if its only a warning in a tight fight, that may sway the judges. So like I said if your going to take that shot, let the other guy help you along.
