Hennessy Offers Hatton 'Lions Share' To Face Witter

All i know about Witter is he got owned by Juhda and that is it i think PM has just as much of a chance as Witter at beating Hatton and they are fighting so if Hatton is fighting PM whoi is on Witter level if not better how is he afriad of Witter.

Carlos Mauser was not a name nethier was the last bloke Hatton fought for the ibf belt but the fights were still made.

Witter is more of a name than those 2 and it would be as big a fight in the uk as any other apart from a superstar like De La Hoya.

Well didnt Hatton get critism for taking those fights? After the Tszyu fight everybody thought he would take on Harris because he was the next big name. On the mayweather-Gatti undercard he got KTFO! against Maussa and thats why I think he took that fight. The Urango fight is a fight I didnt agree with and I can agree with you saying if Ricky faught them two, why doesnt he fight Witter.

But I think now after the Mayweather fight hes all in it for the money and hes even admitted that himself. So I dont think he wants to go down these no money earning routes anymore. Its hard to say really. But ill see it again, as soon as Witter gets that one more name on his record I believe he gets a Hatton fight.

Here's the thing...I have 3 questions for Hatton fans to answer on the subject of Witter :

#1 : If Witter's going to just lay down & let Hatton walk over him like a doormat (which is basically the jist of what Hatton's camp & fans have been saying) why not just walk over him?

#2 : Why not take the bout that won't be a battle & get the strap? Nothing to lose at this state of the game, IWHO.

#3 : If Witter is the bitter rival...the hated nemesis that Hatton & company have always stated that he is...why not give him the fame that they say he's been trying to steal from Hatton & give it to him via a brutally destructive knockout? It might rebuild some of the Hatton myth that Floyd just tore to shreds.

Could the answer be that Team Hatton actually see's something in Witter?

Yeah this fight needs to happen .

It will be a massive injustice to the world of boxing if these two dont meet before retirement . I also think Witter has a much better chance than the average fan gives him .

I hope Ricky fights Witter next, because the fight has an edge to it - bad blood, UK homecoming, having given USA all they asked for in the last few fights. Best to fight Witter now, as if Ricky goes back to USA they wont want to see the Witter thing

However the headline of this thread is a joke - how incredibly generous of Hennessey to offer the lions share to the guy (Hatton) who provides 99% of the revenue anyway!! (sarcasm by the way!)

Remember people that Hatton wouldnt even fight Witter when Pinto pulled out . They had 48 hours to find a new opponent and Witter volunteered like he did vs Judah yet Ricky prefered to fight Pederson .

I get the feeling that if it didnt happen , it certainly wont be negotiated now .

Your comments, specifically that Witter is nobody except in England is indeed the reason the fight should happen. First of all, a Hatton fight against Witter (and in England) will make either fighter the most money against any opponent in the division. Also, the fight should be very competitive, since both are champions, Witter has improved tremendously over the years, and Hatton is a beast at 140. That is the fight at 140 I want to see before any other.

i seems like its gona be a big decision who hattton fights next..

i dont think he fancies Witter in his next fight he needs to get some confidence back
