He just isnt a great fighter he is not even p4p top 3 skill wise...if he was so good why couldnt he hurt JMM badly and finish him? Pacman handpicked his guys when they were war torn and on their way out! His only dominating peformance was agaisnt a MArco Barrera whose mind was not there...marcos mind was not right in 2003 he had so many personal problems.

Joe Calzaghe had one of the greatets AM records in boxing, and was undefeated as a pro and held the title for more then 5 years! never lost.

he also beat a bernard hopkins who just dominated a young lion in pavlik.

I dont think Pac is the most exciting fighter in boxing. But he is a very good fighter, no doubts about that.

I personally prefer to watch Joe Calzaghe more than Manny Pac. But that is no slight against Manny.

you fool, pac is one of the most ambitions warrior the world has ever seen. he was in his early 20's when he set out to fight three great fighters in a row. it was suicide yes but he did well, beat marco, drew with jmm and lost the first with eric. Who hits with bad intentions? Didn't Glen Johnson and Antonio Tarver stop this version of Jones? Did Cazlaghe? DId you see Pacquiao against David Diaz? Or against JMM? Or against Morales in fight 2 and 3.

Also people who say they like the artistry of Joe Calzaghe, he isnt' a boxing artist, he is almost as unorthodox and untechnical as Pacquiao, I think people are forgetting that Pacquiao is a very good technical boxer these days, he outboxed Barrera who came up almost even against JMM, and he didn't do that badly in the terms of boxing against JMM if you actually watch that fight closely, his defense has improved a lot, he doesn't just land that left cross anymore, you see a good jab, and that great short right hook.

All in all their styles remind me very much of one another, but except Joe goes for volume while Pacquiao throws a lot, but he throws bombs.

Do I like Joe Calzaghe? NOT EVEN CLOSE! But I can show the man some respect. I believe he's #2 or #3 P4P and that says a lot considering I don't like the guy.

People who don't like Pac just ignore these things but here you are completely adding fuel to the flame. Manny Pacquiao is now fighting a fighter, who is naturally easily 160+ pounds. ODLH will easily have a 1 stone advantage when they fight. Yet you say Manny Pacquiao ducks fighters and doesn't fight the best are you kidding me ?

Calzaghe likes to toy with fighters he has more skills and art then pacquiao he is a complete boxer pacman is one dimensional and the only reason pacman is fighting oscar is because of the Money lets just be honest.

You will not see the same pacquiao he is not a dumb guy once he feels the power and if oscar becomes aggressive he will not continue for his own well being. He has other sights and its politics.

Joe Calzaghe only has a BS stoppage win over Peter Manfredo, and a stoppage win over the glass jaw Mario Veit, who he destroyed in 1 round in there first fight, but it took him 6 rounds in a rematch. And this is in his last 8 fights.

Manny Pacquiao punches with much better technique. He puts his body weight behind his punches. And his blinding speed generates alot of power. Its ridiculous to even suggest Joe Calzaghe hits harder than Manny Pacquiao P4P.

Manny Pacquiao is now fighting a fighter, who is naturally easily 160+ pounds. ODLH will easily have a 1 stone advantage when they fight. Yet you say Manny Pacquiao ducks fighters and doesn't fight the best are you kidding me ?

Manny Pacquiao isn't my favorite fighter, JMM is actually my favorite. But i respect Manny Pacquiao alot i love his exciting style, i respect the fact that he wants to fight the best and prove he's the best. I really can't understand how anyone can't respect or appreciate Manny Pacquiao, or even assume he has been ducking fighters, with the quality of opponents he has fought in the past few years. And now this fight with ODLH.

Calzaghe likes to toy with fighters he has more skills and art then pacquiao he is a complete boxer pacman is one dimensional and the only reason pacman is fighting oscar is because of the Money lets just be honest.

You will not see the same pacquiao he is not a dumb guy once he feels the power and if oscar becomes aggressive he will not continue for his own well being. He has other sights and its politics.

And Manny Pacquiao didn't toy with David Diaz ? thats one of the best masterclasses i've seen in a while. Manny Pacquiao isn't one dimensional, he has developed his right hand much more.

He has more variety of punches and his countering skills have improved vastly. Manny Pacquiao is fighting ODLH for money of course he is and so does every boxer so i don't see your point ?

But the risk is still very high considering how many weightclasses Manny Pacquiao, is moving up to. And considering how big ODLH is.

Undefeated doesnt really mean as much as it used to in the old days when fighters would be looking for all commers at any time.
Today its like a play act so they get the best route to the best money with least risks.

I know pound for pound takes into consideration alot more things.But (just for my mind)I like to think of fighters at the same natural weight and take it on skill and power only: If Joe was naturally the same weight as Pac I think he'd have his hands full and it would be a tough night,he'd have to have a great night with no mistakes to pull off a win.

I'll give you Pacquiao relies very much on his favorite jab-straight left or double jab-straight left. If people aren't stopping it, why change it?

But I don't agree with you on him being one-dimensional. Throughout the years Roach has added to Pacquiao's arsenal.

Roach changed his right hand completely. His jab used to be just a set up for his left but now he's stiffened up his jab into an effective punch in itself. His right hook has hurt all the fighters he's faced since Roach got him comfortable throwing it (he didn't use it much against Marquez the second time they fought).

Pacquiao just used to be all offensive his defense has made a huge improvement as well. Slipping punches isn't his thing but his guard has improved tremendously. Watch his second fight with Marquez, his guard protected him from a lot of punches that would've landed if it had been an earlier version of Pacquiao. ALSO, his countering ability is way better than it used to be. He likes to duck under punches and throw a looping left and that's been effective. He also throws his right hook whenever his opponent leaves himself open after throwing a left hand.

He used to have just ruthless aggression but now he has the ability to pick his spots.
