Re: Pacquiao - Clottey: Who wins and how?
I'm going to sticky this as a fight night thread. I guess I'll have to unban Kirkland and that other dude :p

I'm sure the regulars will trickle in once the fights start.
What time do they start? :p

Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
I agree with the commentators in that it is good to see a fight outside of Las Vegas, it would be ood to see more boxing in big venues and at a reasonable cost. Not a bad undercard scheduled for this too.

Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
Have stream up but no sound ???

Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
How shit is Duddy !!
On another note Pac will be to much for Clottey, either big ud or Pac late stoppage, not from Pac causing to much damage just the fact he will be totally outclassing Clottey.
-
Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
Same Medina who lost to Vanes?? Cannot wait for Diaz vs Soto....trainwreck all over that one :fight:
-
Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
Anyone else think clottey throws more punches during the ringwalk than he does in the fight.
-
Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
Cant stand Gomez...shite I think he owes Soto Karass a rematch
-
Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
Shyte undercard so far. Zero atmosphere in the stadium. Soto Diaz better put a show on.
-
Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
funny that Pacquiao "hates needles" yet is sporting a new tattoo on his forearm
-
Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
Duddy vs Medina was a good scrap
But Castillo is done!!! . He shouldn't even have fought

Agreed, I thought it would be a bit better than this. The Castillo fight was a shocker, he wasn't even ready to go half a dozen slow paced rounds! Hopefully this one turns out all alright. :-\
-
Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
Diaz would be personally insulted if he was being punched in the face...but Soto needs to stay boxing
-
Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
how long til the pac fight is on?
-
Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
Char room ...we're in it, it wont crash...you're call.
-
Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
I think Valero beats Soto.
-
Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
You can see it there with Clottey. He's fast, he throws everything with good technique, accurate, not a huge puncher but strong, not easy to hit and durable, but he just doesn't have it mentally. He should have won 9 rounds versus Cotto, he had that wrapped up. Not saying he would have won here anyway but he could have put up a better fight.
Not sure why Manny languished on the inside, that was obviously Clottey's best moments, the uppercuts on the inside.
-
Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
I just cant understand why Clottey can't take more chances...? So frustrating
-
Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
I expected Clottey to at least put up a fight in the first 4 or 5 rounds and then do his usual late rounds of inactivity, but he couldn't even do that!
Seriously this is like the most boring Pac fight I've seen, it reminds me of when Tyson fought Bonecrusher Smith, an exciting fighter in with a guy that really didn't bring it for whatever reasons.

Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
Jimboogie, he was determined not to get stopped. Moral victory.
-
Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
I hope Manny is satisfied with that unsatisfying win. Clottey was in la la land all night long.
-
Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
shit I finally got one right....but totally missed the fight :-X.Clottey gave his typical 'just glad to be here also' big fight effort huh? Who'd he blame this time?

Is that his tactic in every fight? Ive never seen him any different ;D
I saw someone say before for him to hook up with Winky's trainer... I dont see how that would have been a bad move...
When he actually threw punches he seemed to catch Pac quite abit, I like Clottey, it seems all you have to do to beat him is have a good work rate though:-\

By saying that, I meant Clottey was in there physically but it seems his heart and mind is not in the fight. How can he be hurt? He was covered up like somebody is shooting him with a gun. Very one sided fight. I also don't think this serves as any statement for Mayweather. Just fight Manny and get those damn tests.

Ah I see... My bad. He's always like that though. For all his ability he seems to severely lack in the heart department. It seemed like his corner were begging him to let his hands go, just doesnt seem interested unfortunatly!

Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
Very, very predictable fight.
You could not have watched both fighters fight before and not expect it to play out exactly how it did.
-
Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
Hopefully, this "fight" will sober up the fans who were suckered for $50 USA to watch this boring, uncompetitive mismatch, and put pressure on Vile Bob and Manny to make the Mayweather- Pacman fight happen.

Yeah, I don't see Clottey fighting again on the big stage.

I guess we can put him on the wasted talent pile. I think he's too good to be considered a gatekeeper though. I wouldnt be suprised if he completely fizzled out of the scene altogether, he'd still be a tough tough challenge for any prospects.

Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
Honestly , I think if Clottey would open up more ,he'd get ko'd . So i think he did good to just be safe, since he knew he won't beat Pacman .

Clotteys got one of, if no the best chin in the division... if he cant open up who should? You cant go into a fight just in the hope of surving 12 rounds. It wasnt like everytime he threw a punch he was getting tagged straight back...

Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
I find it interesting how Pac threw all kinds of punches and Clottey came out clean. Clottey throws a few punches and look at Manny's face after the fight :-\ .
He did beat him in the score cards with no doubt but can't really say that Manny punished Clottey or gave him a beating, nope. At times he looked frustrated as he couldn't figure out Clottey's defense, even did a scissor double punch or whatever you call it.
A thumb up for Manny's punch output and stamina.

Must be a first for boxing at that level. Did it score two points :spongebob:?
What did Clottey earn for the night anyone know?

I saw some sort of white bottle in Pac's corner, I wonder if it's the infamous A-side meth? :)
Clottey should be getting a total of 3 or 4 million once the PPV numbers come in. So no need to feel bad for Clottey.

Re: Pacquiao - Clottey Fight Discussion
Clottey is the same ol' Clottey. I never expect much of an effort from him and he never gives it.
