Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
Ah well forget about Cloud, Solis the beast is up now. I really like this guy, even if he is a fat fuck. He still knocks out David Haye imo.
-
Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
Solis is actually pretty fast. Too bad he makes Arreola look disciplined.

Agree. Thinks he's leaps and bounds ahead of Lacy

Personally, I think that Tavoris Cloud looks pretty beatable as one of the champs, and if Cleverly can't get Braehmer in the ring due to his legal battle, Cloud would prove to be someone he can beat with volume, and a guy much more suited to him than that French fella was.

Yeah I think Cleverly would have a good chance against him too. I reckon Frochy could move up and pick up another belt if he wanted also.

Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
Solis looked like he almost hurt himself bending over to stretch.

I've only seen one Cleverly fight, but I saw nothing in him that makes me think he has a chance against Cloud. From what I saw, he lacks power, is reckless offensively, and is fairly easy to hit. I think Cloud stops him, at least at this stage of Cleverly's development.

Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
Does Malcolm Tann have a twin brother ??? WAIT...Craig payne.

Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
Physically Austin actually looks in pretty good shape for a heavyweight.
Solis looks fat but not Arreola fat at least.
-
Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
LOL, the ref warns Solis about pushing off so he accepts the warning and pushes him off 3 times in the next 10 seconds.
I didn't realize Ray Austin was 40.

Littel suprised. Tubbs is really reaching and working overtime to push Austin off.

Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
I like Solis' style. He's just aggressive and a bully. Walks relentlessly forward, throws a punch, follows it up with a push, doesn't seem to give a shit about what's coming back at him. He's like a Sherman Tank.
-
Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
Solis always pushes, its just his style, walk forward, punch, push always with a look of contempt for his opponents power on his face.
I think he would just bully Haye into submission.
-
Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
Personally. I believe we are looking at the biggest bust on a heavyweight in some time

You actually think this bowling ball of a fighter can beat David Haye?
-
Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
Damn Solis gets lazier and lazier with each fight.
-
Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
If this goes on much longer I might cut myself.
Bilbo I'm just not sure what you see here.

I think he would need to step up his training and lay off the taco's.
But he did it in the amateurs and I see no reason why he couldn't do it again. He has a toughness that I don't think Haye has.
-
Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
He has "please feed me uppercuts thru my extended arms and straight approach" written all over him...or just feed me something...I'm not picky...really
-
Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
At least that was better, Solis came out of his shell a bit.
His right hand is odd looking at times.

That amateur fight was a long time ago, Haye has grown tremendously as a fighter since then. Solis is short, fat, slow, lazy, and he lacks power. I see absolutely no way he beats David Haye. I'm not sure he'd beat Chris Arreola or Eddie Chambers.

He throws it like he's swinging a purse.

Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
Dear Eddie Chambers: I'm sorry
Seriously though, He's horrid. Slow, front heavy and does he know what a combo is? He just looks like he half is counting on Austin to show his age and fall over for him.
-
Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
Austin just lays that left hand out on top of Solis' head. Surprised the ref hasn't said anything.
Did some decent body work there though.
-
Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
I don't think he needs concussive power though. He's winning every round for me (well actually he slacked off a little in the fourth).
It's not as if Austin is extending him at all. He is frustratingly lazy, but as long as he's winning I guess he doens't care.
-
Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
Solis lulled him to sleep and then exploded. Did he drop Austin with a jab?
-

Not against Grampa Austin, but if/when he steps up he's going to wish he could punch. He's not going to outbox or outwork guys like David Haye and the Klitschko's.

He has more than enough power to hurt David Haye, trust me on that. I'm not saying he will beat a Klitschko. But for me he's a big challenge to Haye, Povetkin and Adamek.
-
Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
He should have finished him
-
Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
Skill, shot wise he competes with Adamek. Mentally & overall though I think Adamek beats the crap outta him down the stretch.

I think he beats Adamek. Adamek was rocked by Michael Grant. Haye was dropped by Monte Barret. Solis can get to these guys and wear them down imo. His workrate is a problem but I have a feeling he will be like Chris Eubank and rise to the challenge in front of him.
Certainly he's easily winning this fight and Austin is no mug. Aside having a nightmare against Wlad his resume isn't bad. He's rarely been an easy night's work for anybody.

He has pretty good hand speed for a bowling ball. If Haye can't hurt him than Solis walks through him
-
Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
I gotta wonder if Solis gets knocked down, I mean even a flash knockdown will he be able to get back up? Serious question.
-
Re: Solis vs. Austin and Cloud vs. Zuniga
I'll hate Solis forever if he doesn't get a stoppage here. I need the points.
I just don't see anything here to make me think he could beat a Haye or an Adamek. This is pretty dreadful stuff.
-

Concussive power ain't needed to beat Haye. Speed is the key. I think Solis has enough

His handspeed is okay, I like the way he places his shots, and he's by no means a terrible fighter, I just don't see anything in him that makes me think he can compete with the division's best.

Looks Solis just going through the motions. Which for him is still enough to win

How is this performance any worse than Adamek against Michael Grant though? Austin is a more credible opponent than Grant and Solis is winning every round.
He's a big step up from Vinny Maddelone.
