To constantly attack my work in thread after thread when it has nothing to do with the threads at hand is extremely weak too. As I say, I have worked bloody hard to get an education and do what I do. I don't like it to be sniffed at. Me being an educator has nothing to do with being a private man with strong political views. You have them too, should all people with political views join the government assistance crowd? Should we just quit and become a hippy and an isolationist following our respective unemployed paths? I'm good at what I do, and maybe you are good at whatever you do, but we still have those tangents that are not part of the mainstream. That's who we are.
In response to you, I do become extremely harsh myself and I know that. I know I can be exasperating, but you are another side of the same coin. It's annoying because I don't particularly want to be at constant odds with you, but you keep jumping into threads like the Syria one and seemingly for no other reason than an attempt to annoy me. It escalates and then we are at war again. It's like the Middle East.
Why does a teenager need to pay bills and rent? They will be living at home with mom & dad and buying bubble gum and baseball cards and apps on their phones not paying rent and bills.

I use your work to bring you down to Earth. You act as if you're beyond reproach, as if you hover over humanity like a god as if we should admire your every single tedious thought. You're well educated enough, you have been known on occasion to make solid arguments, you can poke fun at yourself and fair play to all that, but when you get on your soapbox and flaunt your skewed views of America it irks me because you have no clue about America and you aren't even willing to learn.

Miles, you clearly don't see how you come across in threads. You have NEVER been here and have almost NO understanding of what Americans are like, our culture, our economy, our government etc. That being said you wade into thread after thread with an uninformed opinion and a hypercritical attitude telling us Americans how terrible and jacked up we are and if only we were as enlightened as you. Yes, I have apologised to Victor Charlie. Again, why should I tell you? VC has admitted the war was wrong too, so maybe my accusation that the Iraq war was wrong is also something he agrees with. We have our own rather curious ways, but on the whole he comes across as far less angry and bullying than you.
You use my line of work to bring me down to earth? Forgive me for not working in the NSA, or in the military, or as a CIA agent inciting revolution in Iran because they had the audacity to nationalise their own resources etc etc. Good national causes, Lyle! Much better than those English teachers. BTW, what was it, you do? Oh, top secret.
I know plenty about America. I read the same media that you all do and its a big country. On that basis, I know about America just as much as you do. However, I read better media and so probably know more.

Whether or not the War in Iraq was "wrong" is erroneous, my view has always been that the war was going to happen regardless of who won the election between W and Gore (check YouTube for what the Liberals said about Saddam in 2000). It stemmed from the ending of the Persian Gulf War which did not see Saddam Hussein kicked out of power. Also, and I'm sorry if this offends you, but if my country is in a war I want us to WIN it is worthless and stupid to go to war just to do so. Win quickly, decisively, and with few casualties, that is what I want if there is to be war and there will be war, it's just how humans operate.

My relationship with VC is once again none of your concern. Again, I hate to break this to you, but teachers don't hurt anybody. Soldiers are trained to do so. I am not into any profession that is trained to follow orders and hurt people. Today it was estimated that half a million people died in Iraq. For a war that VC admits was a 'mistake'. Okay, I think that is a brilliant thing for VC to say on that issue. I apologised for my misdemeanor to him personally and he admitted that your country probably fucked up. It's fair enough. That story is done and dusted. Over. You however, keep going on about it as though VC is your pet parrot that I hit with a club. Get over it.
Also, of course you live in America. Do you really think I hate your country? Some of you, and I do say some, are lovely. But some are frankly just obnoxious, loud, and weird. However, you know nothing more about the majority of the states than I do, so deal with it. You live in North Carolina and know about your area the size of England, but you do not represent America. I imagine I have a lot more in common with people in the Eastern and Western states. In those places I am probably more American than you are politically and socially. Sad, but true. As for the war in Iraq. You lost the war, killed half a million, and are still defending it. That's why VC is a man, he can reflect somewhat. You follow it through to the end. Wlad, hugging is just! In truth, I think we are just trying to clean things up a bit by including the prime minister. We are incredible posters with a way of upsetting one another. However, when push comes to shove, I think we are man enough to get along. Our wars just last longer than others.
