As far as GGG goes, why should Floyd (who is a natural WW) have to fight the MW champion?
And there's always that double standard with Floyd, too.
He gets slammed for fighting at catchweights... well, nobody talked shit when Manny made Cotto come down to a catch weight, or when he forced an old DLH to come down to 147, a weight he hadn't been at in 10 years prior.
Floyd gets slammed for turning down 8 million to fight Margarito, but Manny doesn't get shit for turning down 40 million to fight Floyd.
Because it can be at LMW. Canelo is bigger then GGG. A lot of people criticised Canelo as an opponent. TV hype, as it will do, changed a lot of people's minds but most knowledgable boxing fans knew that was an easy opponent for Floyd. I can't remember the last time people were like wow I'm surprised Floyd is taking this fight the way people are with Canelo and Lara.
There is no doubt Floyd is a class boxer but when you compare him to other ATGs he falls down on my list because of a lack of elite opponents. This is in part because of a lack if quality opposition available but when they do come up Floyd has an excuse.
The double standard comes from Floyd bein P4P number 1 and a multi millionaire. He should be going for legacy. I don't think GGG should fight ward at 168 but should fight Chavez at that weight, yet I criticise Floyd for doing that but GGG hasn't made all that money that he has and hasn't even got the chance to fight top guys at middleweight. A few years down the line I'd have the same problem with GGG if he's cherry picking opponents.
Complete non sense. It was clear Floyd was having shoulder issues in their first fight. That was his first fight at 135 as well...against a bigger guy. If the blue print was so solid...Castillo should have had the same success in the rematch...he didn't...as Floyd took care of him.
Apparently Floyd went into that fight with a torn rotator cuff, which is the same injury that caused Vitali to quit vs Byrd even though he was dominating and had only a couple rounds left.
He ducked Margarito for sure...

Pac ended Margarito's career...
Marg would have sparked him, some guys you just gotta duck
Floyd certainly has grown into welter weight but i disagree of the margo issue.
Floyd wasnt timid he was just completely outboxing carlos and made it look like a complete mismatch.
If floyd was timid in that fight hes timid in every fight..the crowd got bored and probably went home..so one sided.
Margo has no style and got beat by williams, destoyed by moseley and nearly blinded by pacman.
Floyd would have shut Margarito out in easy, Baldomir boring fashion.
listen i hear this all the time and i even Defend margartio at times i don't feel he used warps his whole career but who knows. At the time who was it that he beat that made him worthy of Mayweather he was just defending the wbo belt. Bald may of been shit but manged to become the Lineal champ and was ranked the champ i mean come on now thats higher achievement then Margarito had dude. They both were going to make the same money for Mayweather so he beat the man at the division the ring champ Margarito did shit after words but he had done nothing to deserve a fight with Mayweather at the time in which the deal was made. Kt he didn't fight because he lost to Hatton so he ended up fighting Hatton, then beat Oscar who was the man at 154 and when Cotto was just coming up Mayweather was retired. Then when he came back he fought Jmm who was robbed against Pac and later would knock him out you know what Mayweather made Jmm look like a fucking bum that never boxed before in his life. I really don't get all the hate for Mayweather resume i mean he is a dick but it is not like everyone else was fighting the best all the time either.
Beanflicker this whole pro Mayweather thing is admirable but it's getting quite boring. I've seen you on here for years and it seems something is up. I don't know if you're being encouraged by the new dickheads Cyclone and Ron or if the Maidana fight somehow unnerved you, but it's as if you have suddenly embarked on a rage induced crusade to defend Floyd at all costs, and to be honest you're starting to come across as a megalomaniac who just wants to crush anyone who disagrees with your theories. What's up mate?
The only thing floyd ducked was just about every punch thrown at him. Ducking margarito I don't think he did but I do think he would've boxed his ears off specially back then. He was too fast and moved to much for margarito. The only fight I can agree with and idk who ducked who but why the pacquiao fight was never made is beyond me. He would've definetly went down as the best ever had he beat manny I think. Manny was an unstoppable force back then and had he gotten passed him there would be no question ever to his career. That is the only fight that will forever question his career.
Well, its 46-0 now and he only has 3 more fights left in his career..
We are all guilty of supporting and overlooking certains flaws or opponents from time to time but the word "boxing" is what its all about.
Back in the day, i never liked calzaghe and it broke my heart when he fought an old roy jones and outboxed kessler.
But JC would easily make my top ten of all time great fighters and ive realised that his stamina and "boxing" skills were superb.
He gets alot of flack for his injuries and ducking fighters but you just cant make everyone happy!
Same with floyd.
The big difference is the money thats on the table and for 70m> a fight its got to be hard to walk away..
Floyd will not stop at 49 he will finish at 50.
Just so long as all the idiots know he's the greatest boxer ever with NO PEERS AT ALL....I mean it's just disrespectful to Floyd to even mention other fighters who may have accomplished certain feats in the sport or reigned for long periods of time or had to deal with tougher opponents or what not....regardless....Floyd has no peers and never will. There's only 1 Floyd and when he retires the rest of the mere mortals may as well retire the entire sport of boxing.
Yeah I believe Floyd is an idiot, a degenerate and I have no doubt that he'll become another Roy Jones or Mike Tyson, fighting far beyond his prime because he blew his fortunes.
But it's not about Floyd, it's about discussing and debating BOXING, which is what a forum is for. Or at least that's what I thought it was for.
