Cool...
Dublin is far from my favourite city in Ireland.
But it's the capital, it's big and enjoys a great nightlife.
October is a quiet month. There are a lot of festivals throughout the summer; but October is quiet as Halloween is coming up.
Right at the start of the month the "Tough Mudder" adventure race is taking place, just outside Dublin in Kildare.
The National U-22 boxing championships will be on in the National Stadium in the middle of the month.
Dublin is a hive of activity and every weekend will bring something new.
As regards nightlife; Templebar is the centre of activity. And it is good. Its thronged with tourists, locals and parties. But its crazy expensive man. Way Way overpriced for what it is.
Lillies Bordello is one of the "it" places. I went there and harted it. Copper face Jacks is a must visit. It just typifies Irish people... quite humorous.
There are tons of nightclubs dotted around the city, hundreds of bars too.
The autumn internationals will be on for the national rugby squad. These scheduled 3/4 games are great to watch live or in a pub... Theyre fun either way.
You staying for long and planning on travelling much?

Very cool man.
Unfortunately we are only staying for two days, then hopping on a plane and visiting a few other European countries to get a "taste" of Europe.
We have a B&B booked right by O'Connell street so I'm looking forward to just walking around and touring.
We're from Newfoundland, Canada just across the pond, which is pretty much all Irish. Hopefully next summer I'd like to get back and do a proper tour across Ireland to get a real feel for it. But for now, it's just a taste.

@Master sometimes people who write short things like "thanks for your responses" are spammers who are commenting fast irrelevant things everywhere just to get their post count up so they can eventually post multiple spam links in a day. But I see smith67 has been around a lot longer than that. Its worth checking on things like that by going to their post history cause it saves you alot of work later on having to delete a day of them spamming the boards. If someone is fresh and they post a few of them in a row we wipe them out before hand.;)

Great trip, weather cooperated throughout, even in Dublin. Never had to wear my jacket once.

I thought Germany were embarrassed by it, never thought they would have a museum about it.

Re: Any posters from Ireland?
I eavesdropped on a few of the tours going through and of course it was all talked about very negatively (in the same way the Roman's talked about Mussolini). For a first world nation, Germany has a lot of really fucked up history within the last 100 years.

I bet you enjoyed Berlin you dirty bugger :D

Re: Any posters from Ireland?
Unforuntately no brothels close by where I was staying, I even had the GF's permission as long as I get an STD/AIDs test afterwards.

Its legal there. Streetsw filled with hookers after 10 o clock. Comical. When I was there 2 girls approached us and we thought they were trying to get us into a strip club and we asked how much. Something like 30 euro and asked what do you get with that (expecting free drink with entry) to which they reply handjob blowjob maybe more. Needless to say our jaws dropped :D
