Re: Ward wants GGG then Kovalev
HA! ;D When I first glanced down and read
Bullsh*t. You look like you were born angry, to me.
I actually laughed out loud because I thought it was somebody else posting, parodying just how ridiculously over the top your response has been. Then I noticed that it was actually you being serious, and only the first in a long line of douchey douchebag like doucheisms. Lets try and keep it off the boxing boards sweety.

Ward returns and GGG can't go to 168 AGAIN. GGG says Ward needs to cut 8lbs from his last fight. Ward says okay, let's do it. And watch, if it doesn't happen people will blame Ward because they don't like him. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.
On top of that Ward also makes it known he won't weaken the killer above him when he moves up for him next. I don't even like Ward but he's the guy that is going out of his way to make the hard fights. That should be respected by all fans. Don't watch, his style isn't for everyone but respect a man that is genuinely trying for the guys that are rumored to be feared.
Can you post a link to the article where he agreed to the catchweight at 164 and 50/50? It would be huge if that were the case, although I'll still be critical of GGG for asking for a catchweight at all, and I hope the weight won't affect Ward's performance.
Also, let's not forget that Ward fought a career light heavyweight, Chad Dawson, at 168. He's not the Saint he makes himself out to be.
And why hasn't he called out James DeGale or Andre Dirrell? They are in his division and good fighters.
My links never work but I can tell you where to find it. Fat Dans Chat last week, fat Dan says that Wards camp are willing to do 50/50 and the catchweight and here we have silence from the GGG camp. And you notice fans are saying they don't believe Ward instead of questioning the guy who's story is always changing. GGGs camp always talks but now their silence speaks volumes.
If GGGs people said "if Ward truly will meet our demands we will have a fight" and the fight didn't happen there would be reason to question Ward. But Wards side said they will meet all demands and there is silence. Not silence from Wards side he was on tv again saying "if GGG wants the fight, come from behind the promoter, come from behind the trainer, tell them to call HBO. I have already done this(call HBO)" <can be found at fightnews.com
I genuinely want GGG to be the beast he could be but I refuse to turn a blind eye to all the changing stories. His demands have been met verbally(I agree a contract is another matter and all that has any real weight) so they should be writing something up or responding. If they simply don't want the fight they shouldn't have listed demands, that suggests you are interested. And that is my problem here, if you aren't interested that's fine but don't act like you are. Don't mislead the public just because they are willing to believe each ever changing story.
In fairness, GGG's team has made it very clear that their priority is to unify titles at middleweight. They want David Lemiuex.
I also read that they gave Froch the same 164 catch weight that they gave Ward.
I don't put much credence into what Dan Rafael publishes these days. I lost interest in him a while ago. Honestly, the reason I asked you for a link is that I haven't read on any notable website, like espn.com or boxingscene, a statement from Ward that he is willing to do 164 and 50/50. I would expect him to be more public about calling GGG's team on their catch weight bluff were that the case than merely Dan Rafael's weekly chat. By contrast, I've seen public discussion from Ward's side about facing Kovalev at 175 next year.
Re: Ward wants GGG then Kovalev
I ferreted out the quotes from Dan Rafael's chat, and they aren't as promising as the OP indicated:

The Ward camp telling you they want GGG this fall is HUGE!! Can we expect a story soon? Will you get a reaction from Loefler?
Dan Rafael, King Fight Freak (12:44 PM)
He's been saying that. Their issue, besides money and split, is weight.

Better fights Ward kovalev or ward ggg
Dan Rafael, King Fight Freak (12:31 PM)
I'd be thrilled with either. The Ward camp told me today their preference is to make GGG for this fall and then go after Kovalev, which makes sense. Ward isn't going to go to light heavyweight and then come back down to face GGG. So face GGG now at whatever weight they can agree on and then, if all goes well, move to 175. Ward can go from an afterthought having fought one nothing fight in 19 months to a huge deal quickly if he were to face GGG and Kovalev in a row and win both.
So, Ward didn't at all accept Loefler's challenge of 50/50 and 164. It's basically more of the same jawing from both sides. No progress has been made at least not publicly.
Re: Ward wants GGG then Kovalev
Too much talking and not enough fighting, IMO. When you consider Ward's level of activity throughout his career..... averaging 4 fights a year between 2005 and 2009.... and now having fought 3 fights in the last 4 years.... it doesn't really matter to me what promotional, negotiations or otherwise factors there might be involved. A fighter who quits fighting with any regularity will quickly fade from view, and should be dropped accordingly in the standings.
The heavyweights are another bunch that do too much talking and not enough fighting.

When I was a young lad, there was a retard that went to our school named Ross. To insult someone you'd say "You look like Ross", "You think like Ross", "You talk like Ross", "You drool like Ross", ect ect.
Painful memories
Re: Ward wants GGG then Kovalev
Well there seems not to be much proof of this unless i am missing something. We will see what happens in the next few months it well be more tell then what that guys saying. Anyhow Ward and GGG would be great but can he cut the weight to even do that with out being weight drained.
Re: Ward wants GGG then Kovalev
Ward said that he will NOT come down to 164.

Ward is the best.
Do what he wants and beat him and your legacy is secured.
Kovalev has the balls but GGG is waiting on cotto vs canelo..can't blame him.
No debate from me. I also don't think you can duck an opponent in a higher weight division. I agree, however, that Ward and Kovalev are the great fighters currently fighting in the 168-175 range, and that daring to be great by fighting Ward would be a strong move even if you came up short.
Re: Ward wants GGG then Kovalev
Think Kovalev has a way better chance of beating Ward as well might he has the boxing skills and power to give Ward some problems he has never faced before and i am not sure how much Ward may of declined or how rusty he is i feel Kovalev is the man to beat at 160-175 right now.
