Today the Labour party demonstrated true leadership in guaranteeing European working residents here the right to remain if they are voted in. This will give the EU no option other than keeping those same rights for British workers and residents in the EU. Science, business, education is very reliant on these workers and it would be churlish and decidedly childish and unpatriotic to use British citizens as pawns in some negotiation game as May is suggesting. Corbyn and the Labour party have said they will go ahead with Brexit but in a responsible manner rather than ditching all the environmental and workers safeguards in place like the Tories are going to do.
I would like to have stayed in Europe but it seems that many who voted for Brexit have had another agenda all along and nothing the Labour party does will convince those who want the UK to return to the 1960's or even before. That time has gone and hopefully the young will stick two fingers up to the old way of doing things and change Britain for the better. It cannot carry on like it is.
I am not a die hard lefty, but I know what is right. There was one guy on this radio show waffling on for minutes about why he couldnt vote for Corbyn: 'Just too untrustworthy' and 'he doesn't speak for me'. He spoke for 3 minutes like this and basically said a lot of nothing. I shook my head wondering if I was right about the Western brain drain.
Corbyn's gonna do much better than people think but there are a lot of dead heads out there.
Corbyn was in Scotland yesterday and gave a good rallying speech to all workers about fairness and equality of opportunity. It all made sense and I hope they vote for him to get back the seats they lost to SNP.Quote:

Looking at Labours list (that Beanz posted), most of those things seem quite good and sensible things.
The problem, for me anyway, is that all those things cost billions and billions of pounds. Where's the money going to come from?
Labour have usually been a 'spending' government and that's the beauty of alternating governments because the Tories traditionally cut spending.
Both either spend or cut too much, so regular government changes tend to mean we get about the right amount of spending v cuts.
Ive never quite forgiven Gordon Brown for ruining all our pensions and selling all our gold reserves at their lowest value to fund his spending promises.

However the Tories austerity measures are not because they care about the next generation being burdened with debt but are ideologically driven to simply cut public expenditure and increase the private sector, so that when they retire they will sit on their boards as payback.
Tories do not care for the very poor and vulnerable in society. Inequality means cheap labour and zero hour contracts and reducing workers’ rights fits their agenda. A rise in Food banks and vulnerable people dying because they cannot pay their gas bills will increase. Teresa May says she wants to defend the oppressed but that is her admittance that they are a result of her governments policies.
