Spoiler alert. I just realised this Adams fellah is on the Contender series I’m catching up on. Notice I didn’t say how he got on! ;)

Likely yes, guaranteed no, and why he should fight a good opponent.

The French cameroonian would probably be my pick from those options though as those gits are always pretty tough and fit so he'd give golovkin a good workout at least.

Re: Golovkin v Brandon Adams ?
Szeremeta may? Business ruin. No longer about best champion
-
Re: Golovkin v Brandon Adams ?
Szeremeta was talked about last month and it seems nothing confines since then, so it could well be him.. golovkin will probably fight in America so a polish geezer will probably draw better than some no name American just for the fellows with polish ancestry in Chicago or suchlike. ..
I don't mind an old git like golovkin who is coming off a defeat and having to secure a new broadcast deal taking on a sort of warm up fight. I'd vote for him to take on sulecki dazn owns him too, he'll generate intrest in Polska and ex pat poles in America and he's pretty good but just not at the top level and seems to run out of energy in the later rounds, so he'd be a good test for old git golovkin and should provide him a nice ko too.... I suspect dazn is saving him to be the first defence of the golovkin/jacobs/alvarez winner that will occur this year.
-
Re: Golovkin v Brandon Adams ?
Andrade should. No risk wait Canelo. Shock part three. GGG get brokened
-
Re: Golovkin v Brandon Adams ?
They pushed Sulecki Rosado winner for Andrade but he came up with a fracture. Being honest at this point Andrade needs a name to put a main over. He brings a trinket while top dogs sort out so he'll warm it. If Dazn was all on the 'big drama show' they'd make it next out.

Now Canelo saying that GGG Needs to have a title if he wants to fight Him. ;D like Canelo had a title when he fought GGG! SMFH. You couldn’t make this shit up. I really hope these cunts don’t fight each other ever again.

Yeah I have no interest in a third fight either. Not surprised that Canelo's calling the shots, though.

Didn’t hear that but I don’t see why Canelo wants a third fight anyways. He can already claim a win over him and I don’t think fighting him a third time is really worth while. I can see him waiting another year and a half since GGG just turned 37. If he waits long enough, GGG will be way too old to have a chance at winning.

Jesus fucking wept. Alvarez is the money fight in the division. After the second time Golovkin got robbed everybody at the top of the division then waits to see what Alvarez wants to do. Nobody in the division including Golovkin is going to make any other fight until they know an Alvarez fight isn't going to happen next. He could have taken an easier fight but took Jacobs. I'm surprised Alvarez didn't do his normal thing of waiting till the fighter has one foot out the door or inventing a new weight division before fighting him but it may well be down to the contract he just signed. So Golovkin has to take whatever else is out there. The guy is a few fights away from retirement and has been making 160 more than half his life. If he wants a keep busy fight after beating Alvarez twice and cleaning out his division then I'm fine with that.

36 years old, name his top 5 opponents. If he was an African American his resume would trashed for his crap opponents. A Kazak deserves equal treatment. Everyone, always, deserves equal treatment
3 decent opponents in an entire career, yeah, he’s earned more weak opponents SMDH. 2 of his 3 big opponents couldn’t win a round against a WW, a WW that started at 130.
I've heard this argument a million times, even before the internet was invented, every "great" fighter who dominates a division gets accused of having a "weak resume/ducking," there's always fighters "they should have fought."
Substitute Golovkin for Hagler, Calzaghe, Hopkins, Roy, Michalczewski, Floyd, Tyson, Naz - It has nothing to do with skin colour or nationality, even ignoring obvious prejudice and bias (hate), boxing fans have always demanded more, there's always someone new coming along.
Golovkin is simply history repeating itself.
No, GGG had Charlo to fight as mandatory for over a year, didn’t. He had an owed Jacobs rematch, didn’t. He had that whack job Saunders to be undisputed, didn’t. He had his mandatory against Derevyanchenko but instead got stripped to fight yet another never champion 154lber. Should we count all those he fought? If he actually fought the MWs he would be good. But he looked above and below for easy pickings. Or do you deny he looked to go up as far back as Steiglitz? Then was focused on the division, but fought Ouma, Fuchigami, Proksa, Rosado, Ishida? Not sure how these 154lbers helped him clear out 160. But he couldn’t get a shot from the big names right? Except this leads into Ward wanting to fight him and GGG couldn’t because of 100 different excuses including wanting to clean out 160 which ^, but also, remember Chavez, he was at 168 and GGG was willing to go up, remember Froch, he was willing to go up if Froch would come out of retirement. But he’s focused on cleaning out 160, except for if you look at what he did or what he was willing to do. But here you are, GGGs just a victim of circumstances haha, so predictable. Yep, he’s just like Hagler. Hagler had a ton of fights available to him but didn’t. Since it’s the same to you, how about you name the great MW fights Hagler didn’t accept.
I expect you to switch your argument and not name, prove me wrong.
Are you kidding? You've inadvertently proved my point.
What did I say? "History repeating itself." Meaning? You're a fan acting like a spoilt child because you "hate" a particular fighter, therefore go to any lengths to twist and sour anything they do.
If Golovkin hadn't fought Canelo and Jacobs you'd make the exact same posts claiming he's "ducking" them.
You're arguments are the same boring old rubbish every spoilt child fan spews out in an attempt to discredit guys they don't like. You proved my point. Look how easy it is - Hagler "ducked" Herol Graham (his mandatory) and Sumbu Kalambay. Now if I hated Hagler like you hate Golovkin I could convince a load of fans why Hagler isn't the great champion he's portrayed as. But that's silly. Why? Because he made the fights that made most sense (lucrative) during his era, just as Golovkin has and every other great.
Hagler-Leonard (Canelo) is a much bigger deal in the history of boxing than what Hagler-Graham (Charlo) would have been

I think it was an unfortunate fight for Charlo. Korobov is a solid fighter who was thrown in late so Charlo didn’t train properly for him and his brother just got robbed a half hour before the fight which I think affected him big time. I still thought that Charlo won.
-
Re: Golovkin v Brandon Adams ?
Draw best can me give Jermall. No see win. 119-108 judge drunk or drug must be take
-
Re: Golovkin v Brandon Adams ?
Honestly had Charlo winning by 8-4 or 7-5
Korobov just was not busy enough in the second half of the fight and I was disappointed
And I don't think the other Charlo was robbed. The other guy was dictating the entire fight almost.

With you on Jermell and Harrison didn't give Harrison more than 4 rounds. But didn't Charlo chat up GGG for not taking him as TBA instead of Vanes? I'm a fan of Jermall Charlo but he proved wrapped too tight when plans changed, Korobov night was hopefully a blessing.

Golovkin to fight Rolls in New York on June 8
Gennady Golovkin is to return to action against Steve Rolls at Madison Square Garden on June 8.
The former middleweight world champion has not fought since losing his WBA and WBC titles in a rematch with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez last September.
But Golovkin signed a six-fight deal with DAZN last month and the first bout has been booked against Rolls in New York.
Golovkin, who boasts a 38-1-1 professional record, last fought at Madison Square Garden in March 2017 against Daniel Jacobs, Canelo's next opponent after he also signed with DAZN.
Canadian Rolls is undefeated in 19 bouts, winning 10 by knockout, and insists he will be a match for the high-profile Golovkin.
"I want to sincerely thank DAZN and GGG himself for giving me the opportunity to challenge one of the best fighters in the world," he said.
"But let me be clear: I've won national championships and represented my country, and Golovkin is just a man. I'm coming to win this fight and put my name among the best middleweights in the world."
Golovkin added that the New York fans will "see the best" of him.
"I am very excited to be returning to the ring and bringing the 'Big Drama Show' back to Madison Square Garden," he said. "The Garden's fans are fantastic.
"I love boxing and I promise to bring the best of me to everyone who will be watching me in an all-action fight with Steve Rolls. I am very happy that GGG Promotions has a new home at DAZN."

Re: Golovkin v Brandon Adams ?
GGG contract amount was said to be eight figures per fight. While Canelo's was published at $365 for 11 fights. so the money is the same for GGG x 6 fights, it would be $200 million. I think, I get the more fights for Canelo 13 and 6 for GGG because of their age, but GGG only has 196 rounds of getting hit while Canelo is way younger his body has been through 379 rounds of getting hit.

Gennady Golovkin splits with longtime trainer Abel Sanchez in a dispute over money
One of the most successful fighter-trainer combinations of the 21st century is no more.
Former middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin parted ways with longtime trainer Abel Sanchez on Wednesday in a dispute over money. Golovkin, who has a fight against Steve Rolls on June 8 in New York, lavished Sanchez with praise in a statement announcing the change.
Golovkin did not identify his new trainer.
In a statement provided to Yahoo Sports, Sanchez referenced “an insulting trainer compensation schedule,” that Golovkin offered him.
Golovkin hired Sanchez in April 2010 to train him. In their first fight together, Golovkin knocked out Milton Núñez in the first round on Aug. 14, 2010, on the way to becoming one of the biggest stars in boxing.
They worked together for 22 fights, going 20-1-1 with 19 knockouts together. Sanchez transformed Golovkin from a boxer with a European style into one of the most exciting knockout punchers in the world. Their partnership provided success for both men and lifted them to the heights of boxing.
As is often the case in boxing, though, money is at the root of the problem.
Golovkin, who earlier this year signed a massive financial deal with DAZN that Sanchez said is worth $100 million, wanted Sanchez to take a pay cut. Sanchez wasn’t willing to take the cut and they parted ways.
https://s.yimg.com/it/api/res/1.2/bK...500761762.jpeg
Golovkin’s statement read:
“I would like to announce that I have made a major decision for myself and for my career. I want to build on what I have already achieved and continue to better myself. Therefore, I will not be training with Abel Sanchez. This was not an easy decision for me and it is not a reflection on Abel's professional abilities. He is a great trainer, a loyal trainer, and a Hall of Fame trainer.
“I will be announcing my new trainer at a later date. But today, I want to thank Abel for the lessons he taught me in boxing.”
Abel Sanchez blasts ‘greedy’ GGG
Sanchez clearly was unhappy with the way the partnership ended. He attended a news conference in Los Angeles to announce Golovkin’s deal with DAZN, at which point Golovkin told Yahoo Sports that he anticipated Sanchez would remain as his trainer.
Sanchez, though, did not appear at either stop on Golovkin’s New York-Los Angeles media appearances to promote the fight with Rolls.
Sanchez’s statement in full:
“FYI, as of today I will no longer be working with Gennady Golovkin. After a great 9-year run, records set and equaled, developing a Hall of Fame career and making it possible to sign a six-fight, $100 million contract with DAZN, he proposed and insisted on an insulting new trainer compensation schedule. My dignity and honor does not allow me to be screwed like that. It’s unfortunate being greedy, being ungrateful and no ethics, honor or integrity will end this relationship.”

"Anyone"? ;D Does that include Miles?
Seriously though, I'd have to know the particulars first. Did Abel ask for a million dollar raise? Did GGG ask him to take a pay cut? I just don't know exactly what it's all about. It does seem odd, however, that a long time partnership would dissolve over money. The trainer is the Commander in Chief of your corner and your training for fights. Fighters owe their trainers a ton of credit. Seems disloyal to say the least to let go of a trainer over money. It'd be another thing if the trainer had outlived his usefulness and had nothing to offer in terms of raising your game to the next level. All fighters have ebbs and flows in quality of opponents. Doesn't mean you dump an Abel Sanchez. Then again maybe there's something they're not telling us. Maybe GGG holds a bit of a grudge in thinking it's somehow Abel's fault he didn't beat Ginger decisively enough to force the judges to grudgingly give him the nod. Who knows.
-
Re: Golovkin v Brandon Adams ?
It is GGG prerogative who he hires and fires as it is his career and he steps into the ring. Even if it is about money, Abel will not teach Golovkin anything new.
Remember Holyfield did it with Emanuel Steward for the same reason.

I think everyone agrees that it’s up to GGG to make his own decisions, but he has seemed to just get extra greedy lately. It’s a bad look. There’s nothing illegal about lowering your trainers wage, but when you get a huge raise and try to do it, it’s just a selfish move.

Disagree the trainer should get less the closer to the end of the boxers career, their share should taper down.
-
Re: Golovkin v Brandon Adams ?
Just don't see it as a bright move by Golovkin not sure what he's thinking. What exactly will he look to improve boxing wise near the tail end of career. Can't help but think it just plays more into Canelo and promotions hands and loses one of the few key allies he's had over the last two screw jobs.

Really? So a trainer who has brought you to the top should be thrown away once you have used them? I get it, but trainers are real people. They aren’t objects to throw away once they aren’t as useful. It’s called loyalty. You don’t have to be loyal, but it shows what type of a person you really are.

If it was someone like Ingle who trained Naz from a child I would understand loyalty but this is different. Trainer will continue his career, the fighter may not get an income as high again.
