I picked Audley but I don't think that anyone could have seriously believed that such an emphatic fashion of the finish could have happened. I thought Audley, who had never demonstrated a hard punch against an opponent with any sort of calibre before, would go in there, look to run and avoid any sort of toe-to-toe with Danny, and try and pick him off using that height and reach, but he pummelled him.
Yeah exactly. I think he deserves credit. Believe me I sat through the whole Guinn fight and I was actually thinking "Where are you John Ruiz? Why have you left boxings life and gave us this!!!"
But the 12th round of that fight was great though, maybe that 12th round was the 1st round of Audley's career rebeginning, because since then he hasn't looked tentative at all. And Danny brought it to him in the 3rd round and Audley didn't run away he stood his ground and landed that uppercut and ended that fight and I was impressed because I think he could have done that to Guinn, but like I said, that 12th round of the Guinn fight may have been the confidence sparker in Audley even though he lost the fight.
Re: Well done Audley.......but.
Everyone knows that Danny is a question mark in any fight....he could be the guy who withstood Tyson's onslaught or Vitali for 8 rounds.....or he could be the fat bastard that gets it handed to him by Sinan Samil Sam.
With Audley all you have to do is punch back...hit him one good time and he'll give up.
As for Mr. Memphis who thinks it's funny to go on about losses of other fighters.....well at least Wlad lost to people with talent, you can't say the same for Audley who before he became pro, had a difficult time beating teenagers to win a gold medal!!!
Audley is 35 and just had a career defining win.....and has not come CLOSE to challenging for a world title, he's too worried about the British Title which is the biggest crock of shit I have ever heard of. Is that something that only British fighters can win so they feel good about themselves because they can't win a REAL title???
I know it has tradition but it's a bit pointless to go after that when you are 35 and wanting to make a name for yourself in the sport of boxing...I can only name a handful of British Champions....I can name plenty of WORLD Champions.
Re: Well done Audley.......but.
Didn't Audley have a broken hand in the Olympics ???

So what the bugger are all these pointless NABO; Fecarbox and all the other bloody titles that are fought for by Americans, they are just stepping stones like the British title is. For some it will be the pinnacle, for other an aim, for other a step towards greatness. Has Audley mentioned the British title since the fight, cause that seems to be what you're suggesting? I don't see him going for it myself, maybe go European, or Skelton for the commonwealth bauble. Anyhow, as an American, I'm not surprised you know more world titlists than British titlists. If as you seem to imply Audley chases British title, then I agree it is completely idiotic of him.
Re: Well done Audley.......but.
Hey we don't celebrate those champions....to be the Champion of the US you must be the Champion of the World!
I don't dislike it because I am an American but because it's a bad career move for Audley...if he was 25 then hell yeah go for it bud but he's 35!!!
Re: Well done Audley.......but.
US titles and State titles used to be a big deal. In the 40's. Now I don't think the Commonwealth belt in itself is any wrong, but it seems that Brit fighters deem that as a huge accomplishment. I mean they are primetime fights there aren't they? Doesn't make to much sense to me but I didn't grow up in England.
North American titles are used more as stepping stones here stateside. Yet look at Skelton. Just interested in defending his commonwealth rather then chase a world title.

Didnt Wlad lose to Ross Purity? ;D
Amat the British title means a great deal, very prestigious. The Commonwealth title is another stepping stone for a fighter and then the European title which is worth winning as it gets you a good ranking with the WBC. Skelton didnt pass up on Maskaev because he wanted to defend his Commonwealth title, rightly or wrongly he turned it down because of money.
Re: Well done Audley.......but.
Wlad was a young fighter and gassed himself out going for the KO....he has since come a long way but when you start out as a professional with a great amateur back ground and you are YOUNG as a professional then you can make mistakes and make up for them later.....Audley cannot afford such mistakes.
Memphis if you'll be happy with Audley as British Champ then fine, I'm sure it'll make all the Brits proud.....but would that mean more than a top title like the WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF??? I don't think so....but if you'd rather him have that then you have your answer as to why there are never British World Champions (Lennox Lewis doesn't really count he was Canadian in the Olympics....did he have a time machine and go back and change that before he became a pro?)
Re: Well done Audley.......but.
....also Wladimir is a two time WORLD heavyweight champion and Audley can't even win the "Commonwealth" Title
Sure Audley held the WBF title....I guess that's a little above the WWF title
Re: Well done Audley.......but.
Dude what the fuck are you rabbiting on about?
Re: Well done Audley.......but.
I'm saying Audley is old and only getting older and he needs to stop fucking around with British titles and go for the big stuff or get the hell out of the game
Re: Well done Audley.......but.
Oh right. You kinda went off on a tangent there but I agree ;D
He'll probably fight Skelton for the Commonwealth title. Not because the Commonwealth title means a great deal but beating Skelton will. Frank will "guarantee" the winner a world title fight ;)
Re: Well done Audley.......but.
Frank Warren is not to be trusted!!!
Audley should go for money and fight some top teir contenders....Matt Skelton is nobody (in the big picture of the division) and besides a loss to Skelton puts Audley back where as a win over Skelton doesn't do much for him.
Beat a guy like Lyakhovich and you're friggin IN.....beat Hasim Rahman, Larry Donald, Ray Austin, Timor Ibgragimov.....fight Calvin Brock....those fights have meaning and will propell you to a title fight

Frank promised Danny that a year ago .
He beat Skelton and Harrisson but they kept Danny waiting too long and he lost to them in rematches. Frank has no power or authority in the heavyweight division .
