Hey Saddo, i need to speak to somebody about paying my Doctors bill! I was happily munching my cornflakes, reading this subject, when i read Wackos and The Boxers comments, I fair dinkum choked on the spoon! :puke:
Re: Does Kosta Tszyu's record stand up against the greats?
hey without kt we wouldn't have gotten to see zab's greatest chicken dance performance ever, that alone makes kt an all time great!

tszyu was supposed to fight mayweather right after that fight, but he lost
mayweather at 140 would have had a field day on kosta that night

Totally different styles of fighters.
You can't make a broad statement like that because it's well known that Kostya was more of a KO artist while Floyd was an accurate accumulative puncher.

Cotto was fighting a stupid fight that night against someone that he took to lightly...he hasn't been rocked like that in his whole career & then up until Torres. Cotto's fought some serious punchers & hasn't been stopped in 28 fights.
Kostya got beaten by Vince Phillips & stopped TKO in 2 matches out of 31 matches...I mean...come on. ::**

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERES SNAKEY! IM BACK BITCHES ;D
Cotto...dude, he fights guys with good records...but with no good wins. They are all over cab drivers. And as for the guys on cottos record, most of them i never heard of...at all. I look over kostyas and i see former champions and good fighters that i have heard of. And remember zab didnt do too bad against floyd and also sharmba was at one point beating everyone put infront of him in the 140 division...until kostya came back and put him on his arse. Kostya will go down as a legend, love him or hate him. I just dont see how people can hate him, name a boxer who was as gracious in defeat as kostya was after hatton?

I reckon all three of those guys are better fighters than Zab Judah. The Chavez fight doesn't even get a mention IMO - he was too old.
Rodriguez, Pineda, Ruelas - all world class fighters.
For 10 yrs he pretty much beat everybody out there at 140.
Spot on CC#196....

Don't forget Tszyu's win over James Leija ! James Leija is often over looked, I always thought Leija was a great fighter to watch, very pleasing to the eye as he moved about the ring. excellent form ! His wars with Azumah Nelson were legandary !
Tszyu was a fantastic 140 lbs fighter... the best Jr. Welterweight ever in my opinion. a fantastic fighter to watch , his style is very exciting.
Right on LG.... agreed.....

Noooo way....WackOff (at least NOT now, gonna asume you mixed up Jack & Coke and by coke I mean it in powder form ;D )
At the moment Kostya is still better, with a better record.....
See the posts above and YOU KNOW I LOVES ME SOME COTTO.... :lickish:
But Tszyu was amazing, Cotto is well on his way but still has a little bit of road to cover....

Ok well correct if im wrong but i see cotto fighting alot of stupid fights. He gets rocked by everyone lately. Imagine what KTs right hand would do to him. And trust me mate, if cotto fights pbf and maybe hatton...he could have a couple of losses on his record by tko. ;) And thats just stupid mate, your judging cottos current career...which hasnt been a very long one, against kostya long career who is about retired. Theres still alot to come for cotto, and it could be a lot of losses. Cotto fought abdaluev or however the fuck you spell it...the most hype that came out of that was the fact he beat cotto in the ams....IN THE FUCKING AMS! Ive seen cottos am record and that shit was not great so making a fight on the fact he beat him in the ams is just fucked. And he seemed to give cotto a hard fight, that night i wasnt impressed with either of them. And then you got torres...hmm yeah, was i the only one who was left thinking who the fuck is that when that fight was announced? That fight should of been a blow out...yet cotto was put on queer street in the first couple of rounds. The names i recognise on cottos record are:lovemore ndou coz im an ozzie and ive seen him fight a lot and from what i saw of that fight, cotto faded down the stretch and lovemore came on like a motherfucker and made that one close fight...and lovemore aint that good ;)...actually he was kostyas SPARRING PARTNER ;) Maussa...hmm yeah awkward as fuck but no champion, he upset viv but viv wasnt great either, Corley...and he was givin cotto a bit of trouble and imo that fight was stopped too early and paulie who also gave cotto a bit of trouble even with a broken jaw and he was green as grass. Cotto got alot of shit to prove yet to be mentioned next to kostya tszyus name, when cotto rules a division...for any period of time, dont expect him to match kostyas 10yrs, then talk to me about him being better ;)
Good to be back too guys, hows thing goin wacko?
Re: Does Kosta Tszyu's record stand up against the greats?
I apologise in advance for not getting technical about why this statement is as it is, but I tend to think of it as the sort of plain common-sense objectively-accurate statement that for instance "2 + 2 = 4" or "Grass is Green" is. So here it is.
Kostya Tyszu was one of the best fighters P4P of the 1990's, a true champion, an all-time great, a future hall of famer and possibly, in his prime, the best 140lber who's ever lived.

Don't hate him...he's just overratted.
Sorry...but Cotto has fought better opposition than Kostya in the end.

I submit that even though Kostya beat Julio Cesar Chavez, JCC
was better overall.
JCC had more heart insomuch that he fought everyfriggin body on the planet at 140.
JCC was a great watch .. no doubt about that. better over all ? I don't know? they both terrific fighters . if pressed I would still lean to Tszyu . Just like Kostya better overall.
Kostya Tszyu only had 33 pro fights
JCC had 116
by the time they fought JCC had already been a pro for 20 years.
I have a real hard time rating someone that fights once a year higher than someone that was as successful and active as JCC. I agree that KT is up there, and HAD HE CONTINUED FIGHTING after losing to Hatton I would probably rate him higher. I'm trying to think of anyone that KT beat that had a great chin.
Whoah Killersheep... Miguel Angel Gonzalez had a great chin - just ask ODLH who pounded on it for 12 rounds and couldn't put him away. Tszyu was the first guy to stop him and he was never the same after.

That’s just hatter garbage here. aint no backbone to this statement , no meat. you say "the grand scheme of things he is a minnow" ??? please .that’s snuff queen shit there bro ! ... I Love Cotto and if and when Cotto captures and unifies the titles he will then be on Kostya's level. O0
