The only one that, that could have possibly applied to would be RJJ.Quote:

yeah it wasnt my theory bro it was some one elses, but i do recall Oscar De La Hoya getting some big assssss like 20/20 special or some bs right before the shady loss to TITO. i was like WHOA something shady gonna go down for Oscar to have his own 20/20 special on primetime network right before the fight with TITO its like i knew he was gonna lose and it was gonna be shady hahaha.Quote:

i also recall RJJ doing some special with max kellerman right before the tarver rematch. rjj was telling max that when he throws a punch he does not cover up and block but he swings his head backward with his hands down because its quicker to dodge a punch then to block and dodge. i at this point was like ohhhhh man something not good will probably go down. :'(
I can't believe I didn't think of this one last night. I can't for the life of me find a decent article detailing what he did outside the ring. I know he pushed his wife off the balcony and everything but I've read that he was a hero in Argentina even til his death and despite being jailed for life he somehow died in a car crash? It doesn't make sense...Quote:

George Chuvalo: Fought Ali, Foreman, Frazier......and in his private life he lost two sons to drug overdoses, another son to suicide and his wife to suicide after that....pretty depressing actually and yet he's still a great guy
Randy Cobb: fought Holmes, Shavers, and other top teir heavyweights, took hard drugs, began acting and is a success!
Stanley Ketchel: Great middleweight, fought a fucking MONSTER of a heavyweight in Jack Johnson....drank a lot, was a womanizer, and was eventually murdered.
John L. Sullivan: The last recognized world bareknuckle heavyweight champion that was admired EVERYWHERE his picture in every bar and so on. Would just be fucking good to know more about him.
Man boxing is definitely a sport of characters. Ketchel was a crazy guy. He was good friends with the legendary author Jack London. London hated Jack Johnson and so did Ketchel so the two kind of came together in that regard. They spent a long time together right of the road here in The Valley of the Moon in Glen Ellen, California. During that time London got Ketchel hooked on this drink that mixed cocaine (cocoa leaves at that time) and bourbon. While on it, he would go on "barn storms", basically just driving to a farm or a plantation and beating the hell out of whoever challenges him. Crazy guy :-\Quote:

I haven't read the whole book just excerpts but it's been very well received and while it's not an exact tale of Ketchel's life, it's a very good novel on him. It mainly revolves around the premise that he lived his whole life like he was an old west outlaw. And that he even went on murderous sprees in the west even during his prime. I've read a few reviews and it really sounds like a good book. Just throwing it out there.
Now that we did BTG on fighters how about 'Trainers', which trainers do you think deserve a BTG......
Choose 3 only same criteria......
1. Igancio Beristein - Legendary trainer, Mexicos best and IMO one of the best technical trainers ever. Some of the fighters hes trained are Ricardo Lopez, Marquez Bros., Humberto Gonzalez, Gilberto Roman, Daniel Zaragoza. His record in Championship fights is insane 83-13 (Only including the guys I listed). I would like an in depth look at how he started training.
2. Panama Lewis - Can't stand the man, if I saw him on the streets I'd piss on him. But I'm intreguied to know what made him take the choices he made when he took off the padding in his fighters gloves and to fess up once and for all that he did mix a ubstance in Aarons black bottle.
3. Angelo Dundee - What can you say about this legendary trainer, would like an look at his up brigings and how he got involved in boxing. Also how he prepared Jose Napoles for fights cause we always see what he did with Ali, SRL and Foreman but I have yet to see what he did with Napoles.
Well of course these guys deserve a shot...
Cus D'Mato trainer of great champions faded into obscurity only to come back with his best fighter
Jack 'Doc' Kearns....trainer of Jack Dempsey and embroiled the champ in scandle after saying he gave Jack a railroad spike to mess up Jess Willard's face and KO him in the first to win his big bet.
JCC for sure. Here's my list of fighters I'd like to see documentaries on.
Stan Ketchel,
Benny Leonard,
Charley Burley,
Carlos Monzon,
Kid Choco,
Ezzard Charles,
Lamotta, Graziano, Tony Zale
Arguello,
James Toney for sure
I'm not going to include the guys that already have significant documentaries on. I've seen one's on Pacquiao, Emile Griffith, Marciano, Dempsey, Robinson and other big names.
Sonny Liston, Stanley Ketchel
Eddie Futch like to know abit about him
Read Oumas old man got killed by army for him leaving the country and the rest of his family are still in danger.
Argeullo definate.
Ouma had to fight as a child soldier ....damn crazy stuff that still happens in this world today...boggles my mind
Not only that but used boxing to get out of the country. And he's now banned from his country and was in a serious car accident after that. Crazy crazy stuff.Quote:
