Fair Point ;)

good shout boys. tottaly agree.
all this talk is just a chance for the hatton haters to slag him off a bit more and make it sound like the only decent fighter he has ever faught was past it and ready for the picking. absolute bollocks. i think tszyu was ranked number 2 P4P behind bhop at the time hatton beat him which says a lot in itself.
and as for lovemore ndou he should show a bit more class and revert from slagging off other fighters in that way.
Re: "Tszyu would have blown Hatton away in two rounds" (Lovemore N'Dou)
PBF was ranked #2 after B-Hop.

Lovermore is talking out his arse.... Nobody was going to blow Hatton away that night .. Even me mate Tszyu at his best would have had his hands full with Ricky that night. Ricky was a full on jacket. I don't think Ricky was going to budge for anyone. However a fight like that takes something out both combatants. not sure were going to see Ricky at that level again .

I can live with this, both fighters on their best night would be a great fight...
And I agree Hatton was a mad man! that night at MEN arena....

And for me thats the fucked up part...
I mean are we really only gonna get to see Hatton at his best once? :(
Hatton at his best (like that night) is/was as exciting as watching ODLH in his days or Alexis.
I mean he was that explosive that night, it'll suck if that night is all we ever got from him.
I was lucky enough to see it live and I have the fight also.

This is true, that fight took a lot out of Hatton and I don't think he will ever be the same again.
Re: "Tszyu would have blown Hatton away in two rounds" (Lovemore N'Dou)
if you watch the tszyu vs hatton fight it is plain to see that tszyu is at his best .any other 140 lb fighter would have lost to him that evening.he was clearly the same fighter that just prior to that fight demolished sharmba mitchell the 2nd best fighter in the division at the time.two years prior tszyu had a harder time with mitchell, and mitchell hadnt shown any sighns of slipping either.the truth is that night you would have needed a howitzer to stop hatton.i dont think hatton can ever top that performance, thats ok with me .hopefully we will see a little more of the hatton that beat magee, and thaxton,a perfect blend of technique and aggression.he will need that style to beat castillo and all the top fighters.

CC mate, very good post. The Tszyu fight was what Hatton had been waiting for most of his career. He fought like a true warrior and was on a mission to make a statement that night. He took some sickening shots from Tszyu and to this day I wonder how he stayed on his feet. Maybe he was just too hungry that night and I do think he left a huge part of himself in the ring in that fight. Im a huge Tszyu fan and was gutted at the outcome but at least it was to a true gentleman who had huge respect for Kostya.

MV you make a strong argument no doubt except that we saw the best of Tszyu from 1999-2001 and not in 2005. Coming off a 3 round demolition of Mitchell his only fight in 30 months, injury and weight problems he did a good job against a possesed Hatton. This has been a great post by all.

Love the picture - some people would still probabaly say it was the ref's fault on thge manchester crowd that did that to Kosta's face. I cant remeber anybody but Ricky landing a punch myself ;)
Re: "Tszyu would have blown Hatton away in two rounds" (Lovemore N'Dou)
why do think nobody was in a hurry to challenge ricky after that fight.i know pbf wasnt interested .he tried not to discredit ricky by saying he was a dirty fighter.so rickys response was tell floyde i promise to be gentle with him.mosely, delahoya, and pbf mention his name know after a few less imppressive wins though.
