I still say Mundine is a cock, he is full of shit, he thinks he is better then what he is proven, but i dont for one minute let that cloud my judgement on his ability. If he fights the top guys at 160 he'll beat em all except maybe Pavlik and he'll go 12 with Kelly.
If im proven wring ill admit it.
Yes i respect your opinion dude , we will have to see if the fight ever happens.;D
you know the fights won't happen or this thread wouldn't even exist.
Mundine called out Sturm, Abraham and Winky but none of them wanted it.

I would pick both Abraham and Winky over Mundine. The problem, in my opinion, is that Mundine is a high risk/low reward fight. Not many people outside of Aus. know who he is, thus it would not generate much interest, but Mundine has a decent chance at beating all of those fighters. So they probably look at it and think it's just not worth it.
Now, you could say that Mundine's unwillingness to fight a better/more international level of competition is the reason he is not well known, but that's a matter of opinion.

Anyone who would be willing to come to oz to fight would make good cash IMO. Mundine made 5 million and green 2.5 million in their fight. How many fights would Winky Wright have made 2.5 million in? Wright v Mundine would sell its ass off PPV in Australia mainly cos a lot of ppl here wanna see Mundine beaten.
Mundine has not taken the big step overseas, probably for the same reason a lot of non american fighters stay at home, he can make heaps of cash fighting medium level opponents at home. Joe Calzaghe did it, Sturm and Abraham are doing it, Sven Ottke made a career of it.
Atleast now Mundine is talking about going overseas and if he does i think he will be more impressive than a lot of guys think. It is an IF at the moment tho and the ball is in his court.

I don't disagree, I just think it's a risk/reward thing. A lot of fighters would be wary of fighting in Mundine's backyard in a fight that would already be relatively low-profile (internationally) and high-risk.

2.5 million is pretty good reward;D in my books anyway.

I'd fight him for half that :D. Too bad no one wants to see me get my ass kicked for 30 seconds... :p

If Mundine has no heart does that mean your boy Kessler aint that good because he couldn't knock him out?
Anyway Mundine if he is just moving down to 160 shouldnt he get a fight that gets him used to the weight down there?
If Kessler moved down and fought some nobody at 160 you'd be all behind it so that Kessler could get used to the weight and see how his body could take it wouldnt you

Kessler does not fight cab drivers every fight though, so there's no questioning his ability. He also didn't get his belt by a vacancy in the division then willingly give up the belt so he didn't have to fight an opponent who would more than likely would have murdered him.

I am not quite as high on Mundine as you, but I do agree with your basic sentiment. He would be a handful for anyone at 160, including Pavlik [1]. Even Kessler did not beat him easily. How anyone could not think he would (could) be top 5 is beyond me.
I do object to your point that he has fought better opponents than Abraham and Sturm though. Kessler, and possibly Soliman, Green and Ottke aside, he don't have the same resume as those guys. And Mundine is 2-2 vs. the mentioned opponents [2]. Abraham and Sturm have fought at least as (many) good fighters as that.
[1] Yes, I'd pick Pavlik to win obivously, but Mundine would be just about the biggest challenge out there for Pavlik at 160.
[2] I refuse to give extra credit for beating Soliman 3 times.
Re: Mundine to do big things in the MW division.
One more thing: How about Daniel Geale for an MW opponent? Looks like an obvious match-up for me. I've never seen Geale, but he is undefeated, holds the IBO belt and is Australian.
Is he any good? And what is the aussie perception of him?

You don't hear anything about him seeing as he doesn't go around doing the "I'm the Greatest" act and blasting our country with racist shit. But i'm hoping better than mundine.
Re: Mundine to do big things in the MW division.
Danny Green over the hill? HAHAHAHA Says all the guys that were backing green and lost. He wasnt over the hill when everyone was saying green would knock him out and that danny would walk through him. He wasnt, he just got beat and out boxed like he would of when ever they met no matter what weight division or what yr. Soliman pushed Wright to the limit and mundine has beat him 3 times alot easier then what wright did it. The third time didnt need to happen in my opinion but Kessler wouldnt give mundine a rematch when he had a chance so why would mundine when the shoe is on the other foot. Payback is a bitch. The third soliman fight shouldnt of happened, stupid IMO BUT who else was there? Anyone callin him out? Mundine has been mouthin off at alot of people and no one from over seas has stepped up to shut it. Mundines doing what he can to get opponents but it doesnt help when they arent willing. Mundine will do damage if he gets some big fights in 160! Here me say that now! Coz i will admit if im wrong, i couldnt give a shit. If he doesnt then pfft means shit all to me. I know Pavlik has wicked power and hes a very good fighter but think of this, mundine has been fighting bigger guys at a higher weight class. So hes felt power before and kessler hits hard and so does green. And we all know mundine didnt go a whole fight without taking shots from either of these guys. So i dont think kelly would knock him out at all, if anything hed win a UD but not a knock out.
