DLH punked out by even wanting to fight that little guy.

You see the numbers to Pac last PPV? That shows nobody really cares about Pac unless he's fighting another big name. Oscar can fight your mom and people will watch. He without a doubt deserves the bigger purse. And what the fukk is Pac even complaining about? That 30% is a career high purse. Take the money and fight. You ran your mouth. Now you going to biitch out?
I remember what atty.gacal (pac's pinoy lawyer) said in a local t.v. interview in one of our sports related shows:
"Pac taking on hoya is a very, very risky fight, pac knows it and the whole pac-team knows it.(Even most of my countrymen are dubious about the fight, i may add-panadz) It's just justififiable that pac asks for a sensible share since this is a risky fight. A 60-40 share is what we want, no more no less. Even if they do it 61-39, we will never agree with it. 60-40 and that's it: end of bargain." -gacal as translated by me..
That for me is a resounding principle that "we get what is due for the various risks we are going to take coming on to the fight." That is something no man can take away from and i give props to the pac team for that. No way they're gonna get cheated in a fight were most of the people see the odds stacked against them. It's up to hoya to take it. I mean c'mon, all he has to do is sign the papers and let's go. Is pac to blame for this? I don't think so. It's not on the nature of pac backing down from anyone that's what i can honestly see and what he proved through out this years. This is the opportunity any boxer are dreaming of and wanting to get. Remember pac-mab1? Did pac backed off from mab knowing that mab is very well still on his prime, just coming from a win with em on their second fight (so that's a morale booster imo) and is very much going to the atg status? Nope because that is what pac is waiting to get eventhough he was the heavy underdog then. Just like what guz is waiting to get from pac. Because of that mab fight, where is pac now? My point is, all this business moves are just doors of opportunities for pac to take so that he can get in to the higher level. Any business move that can raise some eyebrows are all the hints the haters ware waiting to see and take advantage of: look how quick they are to throw stones. This is boxing aren't you used to it? I may also say the same for hoya: i don't think he backs off from anyone too, knmowing his opposition (trinidad, b-hop, pbf, chavez, camacho, gatti)though some boxing fans are critical of hoya's achievements. (and so is pac's) But again:is it pac's call?
All they do is wait, "we get the money, what now for your legacy to be capped at it's apex, hoya? Will you sign it and show the world that you can easily tear down little "easy"pac for all the world to see?" And after all the beef that hoya had between toprank, roach, and maybe pac himself: i'm really surprised that hoya don't want this fight to happen.
Is it pac's fault? Nope. They are just being rational since hoya is a very dangerous opponent. All they did was wait. Pacteam has the penchant to trade money for legacy and we all know it. Yet they did gave us pac-jmm2 because they know the moneyroll's gonna kick in in ppv's.
Boxing, we must always put within our heads: is not just bruising your eyebrows, cracking your jaws, breaking your ribs type of sport. It is a business sport. Ever wonder why some fantasy fights don't happen eventhough they're very much suited to each other and can end up as exciting as hell? Because the money forces within just won't let it happen. It comes with the package, why the hell are we gonna go throw stones to the other saying he is ducking, he is avoiding. That is a very arrogant statement as if he is not watching boxing through out his life, though proclaiming that he does? Fact of the matter is, this fight was very much close to happen so their is an indication that they want it(specifically the pacteam): simply for the deniro $$$. "Finally come to his senses?" As if he did not think about it before they sat on the table and talked about it. That is a very funny remark from a fellow poster here at saddo. :D
Anyways hoya is filthy rich now. Why can't he just give 10% more? 60-40. Is that too much asking since it's regarded as risky by the pac team?
I have a gut feeling it will push thru one way or another.
PAC will change his mind as usual/or will be convinced to take this fight anyways.
10 million is hard to resist IMO but with the health risk involved PAC deserves more than that.
Regarding Oscar he wants an easy opponent where he will get the fans to root for him, against Tony I think most fans will be rooting for Tony.
Money can't buy a potential death...and hospital bills
Seriously,if you think this is a veeery risky fight (former 106 pnds fighting a 155pnds.), then get the right share you're worth with, from a boxer's standpoint.
Giving double of PAC's highest purse is NOT the figure they're talking about. Team PAC is asking for a fair share of the purse split. Oscar taking 70% of the purse is just disrespectful of PAC's achievements. What does Oscar have at the moment? He even got NO belt. He just banking on his popularity but he can't impose his will on everybody as bravely shown by PAC's decision to turned down his ridiculous purse split offer.
.
With all due respect Saddo...you are missing the point. You make it seem like Oscar forces people to buy tickets to see him. Oscar, for better or worse, is the biggest star in boxing. People don't care if he has a belt...they buy into his star power. Are you telling me any other fighter in his position, Pac included, wouldn't "impose his will" on business decisions?! Almost 99.9% of boxers who would be fortunate enough to be in Oscar's position would behave the same way. Boxing is as much a business as it is a sport. So until people stop wanting to pay to see Oscar fight...there really is no need to get on his case for banking on his image and demanding the lions share of fights. This fight would, even with the "disrespectful" split of 70/30, be by FAR the most lucrative and publicized fight of Pac's career. I have no interest in the fight and as i said before both fighters could look for much better fights/opponents. But this clearly is an "event" and publicity fight. And since Oscar would be the main public persona and draw for both the fight itself and the buildup for it...he could demand pretty much anything he wants. If Pac, Roach, and Arum want to be part of this ridiculous fight...they need to shut up and except the deal...because it certainly isn't Oscar who needs the money or publicity (though he certainly craves more of both). Otherwise, Pac should focus on the better fights at 130/135.
Maybe we can try to read some headline news:
link --> Pacman Dumps Oscar
Yeah. Have you seen it VD? The way you're claiming things clearly shows how bias and ignorant you are.
We are talking about being fair here. We're not talking of absolute amounts. What would you feel if your favorite fighter "El Cepillo" fights Pac and be given 30% share after Pac loses against Morales (pac vs morales1... supposing we can go to back to that time)? Surely, you would not want that. Regardless of Pac's fame, you would want your fighter to get a decent share of the purse.
How much more Pac vs DLH? Remember, Pac may get seriously hurt in this fight.
Stop being a comedian and be a normal person once in a while.
If you're going to swim in the amazon river with a lot of piranhas for a stunt then you have to demand a higher talent fee.
Same goes for pac, he is going to very high risks in fighting hoya.
Btw, i want pac vs. el cepillo too! That would be really an entertaining fight! I hope you won't come up with an excuse that casa is old for pac if ever pac beats him, huh?
Soto vs Pac would be a goodin!
Maybe not as bankable as an Oscar fight...but more credible, IWHO.
I understand the whole risk factor and all but Cmon 10-15 million dollar purse, for a 135 pound fighter!!! You will never ever see that again...EVER!!! Manny Pac just flushed away his opportunity to get the highest pay day he has ever gotten by almost triple, not to mention screwed over any body at that weight who will come along after him that might be lucky enough to draw a fraction of that money and Pac just flushed away this top earning precedence for any fighter at a lighter weight...
So in a fact Manny could have blazed a trail for higher earning at that weight class and he dropped the ball on that too
