The integrity of boxing fans eh
Actually, I was one of the few people who thought Pacman had a excellent chance to beat De La Hoya. Did not think it would be that one-sided, though. And I also thought Pac would probably beat Hatton, but after seeing the speed difference against a bigger guy I simply don't see how Ricky can beat him unless he just knocks him out. I mean, what would the strategy be? He will have to try to maul and bully him, but the way Pac was darting in and out against DLH makes that easier said then done. Late rounds stoppage win for Manny in a one-sided pasting, but I hope I'm wrong.
Re: Manny will tear Hatton to shreads
If Hatton can force Manny on to the back foot he has a great chance of winning. He would have to get close and not let many find the time and space for his combinations tho. Iam still picking Hatton to win.
Manny will be in a fight at least if he fights Hatton.I think Pac Man will be the favorite going into the fight.
Re: Manny will tear Hatton to shreads
it would really depend on how motivated pac comes into this fight. if he still comes in the underdog and they do it in england i'd say he might bring out again one of his best performance. if pac becomes the favorite, i'd give hatton an even chance of pulling a win or just make manny a slight favorite. the hitman will give the pacman one heck of a fight at 140.

I never favored Hatton Personally,,,Could never produce a post saying so....
IMO always Manny was too fast for Hatton.....
After last night it has become evident...and amazingly...that Manny can not only carry the same fast pace but he also can carry the power needed.....
I would not pick him against a Cotto, Margarito or Williams but at 140 I really don't see him losing to anyone

Pac would come in to the 140 division, azz rape Hatton and take his little trinket from him faster than a rabbit gets phuked ;D
British fighters never quit on their stools like gutless Americans Danny.
Stopped by cuts, knocked out by the ring post, battered in a bloody pulp and sparked with a single punch yes, but quit on our stools never
You're right..Say like a Zab Judah.I think if he just had the heart of a Mexican or a Filipino he may have been one of the greats of this generation.and Brit's and Irish fighters too.Micky Ward,,wayne Maccullough..what's up with these races being real warriors than these 'talented' but gutless americans. In the case of the Mexicans and Filipinos I knew poverty is a factor.More so in the phillipines.I haven't seen a Flip who quitted on a bout. They keep fighting as long as they can.I remember this undercard fight on the Hatton-Malignaggi card this kid Boom-Boom was down and was bleeding furiously but he kept fighting until the final bell. And whenever I watch a Vasquez-Marquez fight it still amazes me how courageous this warriors are.In the case of Brits and these Irish boxers I'm still wondering what drives them aside from pride. Is it something genetic or cultural. If it is then fucck the American culture.
This is a stupid post. Race and nationality have nothing to do with a fighters heart and to suggest otherwise is pure ignorance.
As for Filipino's not quitting, AJ Banal pretty much gave up in his last fight.
And I still think Hatton beats Pac.

yeah, there are some filipinos who do quit and mexicans too. and you'd never thought duran would come out with the infamous "no mas". so it actually has nothing to do with race. although aj simply ran out of gas and would just have been totally ko'ed had he continued, same as cotto in his last outing.
Re: Manny will tear Hatton to shreads
Like i've been saying for ages"Make this fight happen!"It would be a awesome fight,,,a propper FIGHT!!Hatton vs Pacman june 2009 at Wembly(England)with a full house of 100,000 spectators in a open top arena!!
It would be a really really hard fight with guaranteed blood and gore!!:lickish:
Re: Manny will tear Hatton to shreads
yvonne, you're such a caveman. lol
Re: Manny will tear Hatton to shreads
Pacquiao never faced someone like Hatton. Someone who grapples a lot. Pac had a hard time with the rugged Agapito Dirty Sanchez, but that was 1-dimesional Pac.
But anyways, Pacman fights excellent especially when he is the underdog. So I hope most boxing writters would pick Hatton to win.

oscar's weight DID have something to do with pac's overwhelming performance, not to mention it wasn't a prime de la hoya he was with up there. they can play that up and still have pac as the underdog going to hatton's territory.

CHF,
Banal didn't give up. He gave his best, but Concepcion was the better man that night.
Mark my word AJ Banal will be a world champion in 2009.

yup, i wouldn't question aj's heart that night, just his lungs. the boy simply couln't continue.
Re: Manny will tear Hatton to shreads
I think people are getting a bit carried away...
I take my hat off to pac, i never liked the cunt. BUt after seeing how he handled him self and took apart oscar and how gracious he was i became a fan of his. But to say he could step in and destroy hatton is a fucking joke. I have given hatton a lot of shit, but i think he could give manny a hell of a night, and manny him.
Hatton still has some things to work on, but as long as he keeps him self in decent shape i see no reason for him beating Pac. Pac will be the smaller man, Hatton has good speed and damn good power too. He took a hell of a beating from Tszyu and never stopped. if he can come into the ring like that i favour him to beat back, maybe stop him. Pac had an easy night agasint oscar, de la hoya looked fucking clueless.
Re: Manny will tear Hatton to shreads
I have never thought this would be an easy fight for Hatton, I've always thought Manny's ability to fight off his back foot was underrated. However, people are forgetting just how fast Hatton is himself, I think Manny has troubles with him, because Hatton is fast enough to keep close to Manny where he can't get off his punch left hand. Manny can still flurry effectively, but if Hatton can get him on the ropes regularly then I think Pacquiao might have more troubles with Hatton, its the same reason I thought Hatton was more dangerous than Cotto or Margarito for Mayweather, and thats because footspeed and pressure are a bad combination to try and use footwork and boxing skills against. I still think Manny wins more often than not though.

He quit IMO.
He went down to a knee and shook his head as the ref counted to 10. He then got up immediately afterwards. Whether it was due to exhaustion or whatever, he quit. I'm sure he'll be able to come back, but he basically said 'No Mas'. He's still got a bright future though, no doubt about that.
