Why does everybody hate Don King ?

I'll give you an example, remember the event called "Revenge: The Rematches"? Any other promoter nowadays would have each of those fights in the fight card as separate events really.

Then we have the faceless HBO making millions out of fighters at the very top of the sport whilst the promoters like Don King and Frank Warren build them up and have them stolen . What about De la hoya - Felix Sturm ?Nobody ever says anything about that.
The Middleweight tournement that put Hopkins on top who's brainchild ? Tito,Holmes and Joppy all controlled by Don King , no ? HBo wouldn't touch those fighters,it was King that made that happen .
Hopkins career was languishing,he wasn't with HBO yet now he has the greatest of success .

What about Ricky Hatton, Joe Calzaghe and Naz all built up by Sports Network !
Where were HBO when Naz was fighting Peter Buckley at the York Hall and where were they when Joe Calzaghe couldnt sell out Cardiff Castle and the Cardiff Ice Rink when he was boooed back to the dressing room ?

I am not a fan of Frank Warren or Don King we all complain about them not matching their fighters yet they take the risks put their end in show paitence when a fighter pulls out at short notice or puts a shit performence in and then fighters run off when the big bucks are shown .

I think it's time people grew up.

Seems like Big Dick has some anger issues, seems to dish out warning that we all need to get our fact right and grow up and listen to him open up about things he is going to tell us that we don't know. You obviously have the internet try a Google search on some sujects before you get your panties in a knot and don't refer to the same two books you've read.

Bilbo has it right the man is manipulative scum who used to run a numbers racket and killed one man for a few bucks.He ties fighters up with deals that would need a dozen lawyers to unravel and had his son do work as a manager so he could do the promo work and get a slice both ways.:mad:

Less we forget his corruption affair with Bob Lee Singer from the IBF

Less we Forget how he did try to rob off Guthrie by promising him a title fight with Hill when he had no intentions to match him for the crown and was informing in advance the other promoters that Guthrie would fight their guy while Guthrie was training for Hill and never got told who he would really fight

Less we forget that he did deal with one of the worst African dictator (Mubutu) to roll on gold and prepare his match.

These are just to pile up to the list of King's wrongdoing

All I remember about King is he screwed Muhammad Ali and got away with it. So I've just ignored the rhetoric every since knowing he's always going to take advantage of the naive. I think this qualifies to make the guy hated!
