I had thought that Froch should let Taylor have his rematch, seeing as Jermain was ahead on the cards and lost in the last few seconds. It seems reasonable that he can ask for a rematch considering that.
However, thinking about Froch vs Pavlik, I don't think it would be the most technical or pretty fight don't get me wrong, but it would be one hell of a slugfest. Think I'd see Pavlik winning, but you're almost guaranteed a KO with that match up.
Would be incredibly entertaining ;)
I thought Taylor gave Froch a boxing lesson for the first few rounds. When he got put down he looked like an outclassed domestic-level fighter who'd made the mistake of believing his own hype. But Taylor started to slow dramatically after four or five rounds and Froch was able to get into the fight. It wasn't that Froch "started slow", it's that Taylor slowed down to Froch's level so Froch started landing. If Taylor had had any stamina he would have won easily.

froch is the man at 168, traveled across the pond & defended in taylors backyard!
if taylor fancies a rematch should be in england, but doubt taylor would want one
don't know what fight you were watchinig, Froch didn't start getting remotely close to winning a round until at least the 8th, on my card he didn't win a round until the 9th, and honestly by then i was saying it over and over again Taylor looked gassed, i had Taylor winning the first 8 rnds plus the knockdown, so if Taylor would have made it out of the 12th round he still would have won 115-111Quote:

Sounds like your making excuses for JT if I'm honest, Froch just had a fight and he came out on top. If that is because he had better stamina then so be it.Quote:

Well clearly Froch WAS doing some work in those early rounds otherwise Jermain would collapse in every fight at the end right? :-\
Froch was clearly having an impact on Jermain starting with round 6 which is a couple rounds earlier than B Hop started to work in his first fight with Jermain.
From round 6 onwards Jermain was clearly affected and from round 8 it was mostly Carl Froch with the exception of a couple of explosive bursts from Taylor.
Taylor certainly sweeped the first 5 with a 10-8 round but I imagine Froch might have well have been nervous, huge step up in class, in hostile territory against one of the superstars of boxing.
He overcame the worst possible start and worked his way back into the fight before ending it clinically in the final round.
As they always say the true test of a champion is how they cope with adversity and Froch copes pretty well. Even the great Kessler wilted when he stepped up in class and fought Calzaghe on foreign soil and Calzaghe himself got floored by both Hopkins and Jones (despite their advanced years) when he went to the US and fought the two best opponents of his career.
Who will Froch fight next? That is the question.

How come he didn't do that against B Hop? Or against Pavlik in the second fight, or Winky?
The signs were there that he was getting to Taylor as early as round 6, go back and watch it again, already the commentators were worried.
As sensational as the last round was it almost had an air of inevitability about it, like Man Utd trailing by a goal in a must win game with 10 mins on the clock.
Froch is a star now, for me he's the man to beat at 168, nobody else at the weight has beaten a superstar and recent p4p fighter.
Kesslers only big wins are against an overmatched Beyer and an experienced Mundine, Bute's against Andrade (who hasn't beaten anyone), Bika (who hasnt beaten anyone) and Berrio (who hadnt beaten anyone of note apart from a suprise win over Steiglitz and who had been knocked out several times before).
Froch has the best name on his record of anyone at 168.

Think too many people have misconceptions and allow their views to be hindered .
I watched the fight with the sound off and Taylor was effective but Carl had plenty of success he wasnt scoring as often and was to busy trying to set his feet and getting caught by the faster fleet of foot Taylor .
People go on like Taylor was a stumbling wreck , give the guy his credit he fought his fooking heart out didnt just fall apart like most suggest !
It was a tough fight .
Well done to Froch , but lets not get carried away . JT was a good fighter who has always had stamina problems. JT in my opinion isnt a major league puncher , so to look at it another way , Taylor ran out of gas ( which i think Al Bernstein pointed out in round 1 about how he thought the fight would go ) also he dropped Carl . So a good result but he was outboxed by the naturally smaller fighter , and dropped because of his low guard and poor defence. I think it would be a very tough night indeed if Froch fights Kessler.
But hey well done and it was a good fight.
Really good fight imo. Froch can be cut a little slack, this was his first big fight in the USA and he was facing a really partizan crowd. I still think he has an awesome chin, but I still think it's a matter of time before he gets KOed because of that awful defence. I didn't score the fight carefully, I will do later, but I reckon Taylor was about 2 points up going into the last, so if Taylor had've made the final bell it could've been a draw.
Still not a Froch believer!
