Besides since when is fighting the p4p #2 considered taking an easy fight?
Honestly I don't think it is PBF drawing the crowds in and drawing in the money. It was his opponents, Oscar and Ricky, drawing people in to PBF's fights with them. To watch Floyd against a run of the mill lightweight instead of Marquez, he wouldn't draw flies to shit.

Call me when Manny cracks the million PPV view mark when a guy named DLH or Hatton isn't on the bill with him as well.

300K is considered a big success in PPV numbers. There is always going to be a competitive opponent to make an argument about who is the draw. No one really knows what it is that makes the draw a mega draw, its only the current buzz along with marketing research that gives promoters an idea if the fight will be big or not. They get it wrong all the time. It's almost exactly like predicting if a movie is going to be a blockbuster. Obviously there some fights that are a no brainier.
Paquiao is the prevailing bandwagon. With each dramatic win he gains more fans, spectators and the like. Weather you like him or not he is boxing current poster child. If you can't see that, you're an idiot! or a simply a Pacquiao hater...

I sincerely hope he does not get paid this amount because there is no incentive to take on bigger challengers.

I think to draw him in to a fight they are paying him this much. I see this fight as a reward to a great fighter JMM. this is his chance, i hope he seize it. I know floyd is thinking oh easy fight for this much money, i think his in for a rude awakening. almost like how ricky hatton found out may 2nd. I know right it sounds crazy but this smaller fighters are greater fighters imo.
i seriously hope jmm shocks the world this july!

I guess that's why Floyd's getting paid more than him to fight his exact same three previous opponents. If you can't see that Manny's ball sweat has blinded you. Adios;D;D;D;D;D

Manny Pacquiao PPV History
1. De La Hoya - 1.25 million buys
2. Morales 1 - 350,000 buys
3. Morales 2 - 360,000 buys
4. Morales 3 - 350,000 buys
5. Barrera 2 - 350,000 buys
6. Marquez 2 - 400,000 buys
7. Diaz - 200,000 buys
8. Hatton - Expected ???? 1.6 - 2 million reported (I doubt it. Most likely less than 1 Million in the US & it should easily be over 1 million with UK numbers. If the numbers are less I suspect we will never see it published because Arum already opened his mouth)
Total = ~4 million +
Floyd Mayweather PPV History
1. Zab Judah - 375,000 Buys
2 Carlos Baldomir - 325,000 Buys
3. Ricky Hatton - 850,000 Buys
4. Oscar De La Hoya - 2.15 million Buys
5. Arturo Gatti - 340,000 Buys
6. Juan Manuel Marquez - ???? expected 300K+ no one knows.
Total = ~4 Million +
I don't think anyone really knows what Mayweather Jr's real earning are. He likes to think he is all that and more. Believe what you want dude! I'd say the two are pretty even to date. As to who's the bigger draw.... I don't know... but I can tell you that it's logical for the numbers to go down and down with more free live streams being broadcast over the Internet. Something no one is mentioning.

I would really like it if the fight was at 140, as even there Marquez is totally untested. But 144 seems like such a bulk for him to carry at his age. He's not like Manny who seems to be growing into the weights quite naturally. I just feel it's something more forced with Marquez and he might be made to pay. It's not a weight drained Oscar he's facing after all.
I will be cheering Marquez on as I like to do with the underdog in a big fight. But if Mayweather is sharp then it might be a tough night. I hope he can surprise me!

I've always said fan's hate is floyd's goldmine. It's funny how much people hate him and his money yet they are the full reason he has it. It ain't floyds fans lining his pockets, he doesn't have very many.........or in a weird way does he ??
