Re: 147 Pounds unification tournament - who is the man?
Manny can and does get counterpunched often... Hatton was already exposed by Mayweather and validated the fact that even though Ricky is quite possibly the nicest dude in the world he was a tad bit overated and didnt listen to Mayweather sr at all.. What good could have ever came out of charging face 1st in front of Pac? The DLH win was a joke. Yet I still search for a reason why Pac has a snowballs chance in hell of beating Floyd.
Floyd is the superior boxer with surgical precision and sneaky power.. I can totally see pac getting rocked by a Mayweather counter hook and then finished. Floyd is one of the best finishers when ther is blood in the water..
Pac was getting careless and outboxed and out composed by JMM.. Floyd is bigger, better, faster, stronger and smarter with better footwork and lateral movement...
Floyd will attack JMM coming in with the high guard and counterpunch the balls off of Pacquiao
Re: 147 Pounds unification tournament - who is the man?
Mayweather was and IMO still is the man at 147, I haven't seen anybody do something at the weight he wouldn't have been able to do(except stop Oscar).
Re: 147 Pounds unification tournament - who is the man?

Agree with every one of those.
Re: 147 Pounds unification tournament - who is the man?
Pac #1 will be until someone proves him wrong!
Cotto and Mayweather #2 would love to see these two fight!
Mosley #3 very good and not far behind others at all!
Re: 147 Pounds unification tournament - who is the man?
Well i go with Shane Mosley to win i think he can beat all of them. I thought he beat Cotto in there fight but it was close so o well i guess. As for Mayweather well Mosley had trouble with pure boxer but lets not for get the size difference of Mayweather compared to Forrest and Winky. Also teath dont think Mayweather could of knocked out Margarito either.

Cotto v Mayweather- I go with Floyd by UD, he stays away from Cotto to get banged up
Mayweather v Mosely- If they fought tommorow I pick Shane
Cotto v Pac- Pac unless he gets caught early
Pac v Mayweather- Pac Floyd has yet to meet a man at that pace
Pac v Mosely- Mosley
Just thought i'd point out Jesus Chavez threw over 100 punches, in almost every round against Floyd Mayweather and it didn't do much to Floyd Mayweather Jr. Yes i know Manny Pacquiao is obviously better than Jesus Chavez, but i was just saying Floyd Mayweather Jr can deal with that kind of pace, and plus Jesus Chavez was a very good fighter he won plenty of rounds off a prime Erik Morales with one arm.
Well you answered a lot there, Yes that is true about Chavez but Floyd has slowed a bit he too gets older, Chavez threw a different typ of shot , Manny throws bad intention punches, there are almost non lulls in his attack, he keeps spinning, spinning, spinning making it even hard to counter more then one shot at a time, he pops in and out, and again the fast pace is brutal....
Floyd has not been in a fast paced fight since Judah and that steamed out by round 5,,,it also was no whhere the pace Manny puts out...
Manny will not allow Floyd to just lay on the ropes and counter....Floyd is not an overly hard puncher though he does get guys out of there....
You have valid points but I stick with my picks
Agree Dax, Pacs speed could well be the deciding factor when they meet.
Infact i think it probably gives him the edge

That speed IMO is what hurts so many of Mannys opponents...
Don't get me wrong though I am in no way trying to pull one of those
"NO WAY HE BEATS PACQUIAO!!"
Statements because Floyd is so talented, I just think Manny has the edge but at that level you never know....
And I know many won't agree with this next statement but the combination of Pacquiao and Roach up the odds in Manny's favor....Roach studies the hell out of guys and Manny follows Roach to the T...If makes a huge difference
Re: 147 Pounds unification tournament - who is the man?
I never really consider Pacman to be a 147 pounder, and that thing about ODLH being weight drained in their fight, it was him that called out Manny from 135 lbs to jump 2 weight classes and meet him. So enough with all that hoopla that it's not a fair fight for De La Hoya, but I guess a fight at 154 lbs between both of them would be a fair fight right?
I say Sugar Shane takes all, and a Sugar Shane that is in his physical prime is one of the best I've seen at 147.
Re: 147 Pounds unification tournament - who is the man?
As a natural welter, the best is Mosely!!! For somebody with a bully mentality Williams. That's why even the so called Best pound 4 pound Mayweather ignores these two:)
