Clottey late TKO or UD and it wouldnt be an upset IMO.. Clottey is the real deal
JT have you ever seen Joshua Clottey vs Richard Gutierrez ? because if i was a big Joshua Clottey fan like you, i'd be worried about that fight. Because he was pretty easy to hit too the body, and he only just about won a decision. Sorry but Joshua Clottey is too hot and cold with a suspect mentality to be picked over Miguel Cotto IMO.
you forget that Cotto was smashed to pieces and beaten into submission in one of the brutalist title fights in this era. Beating feather fisted Michael Jennings proved nothing! Cotto is in with a big guy and underrated boxer who is capable of putting a hurtin on him. My money is with Clottey
Re: Does Clottey have any chance of a win against Cotto ?
Having a good defense, a good chin, the faster hands, the size and reach advantages could be enough for Clottey to defeat Cotto...
I'm afraid that several flush shots landing and hurting Cotto will bring back memories of the bad beating he got from Margacheato... Cotto might take a knee again, this time infront of Clottey...
.

I do not think Clottey has faster hands than Cotto. I guess we'll see tomorrow night though.

IMO Clottey has faster hands and Cotto has the faster feet/footwork... We'll watch and enjoy the fight tomorrow...

Even though i do think Antonio Margarito cheated in the Miguel Cotto fight, you are right that we don't know how Miguel Cotto will cope under the pressure.
Because he will be revisiting that place again, although not as bad as the Antonio Margarito fight.
And like you said beating Michael Jennings doesn't prove how much Miguel Cotto has left mentally.
But my issue is that Joshua Clottey has also folded under pressure so how do we know Joshua Clottey, will also be able to keep his head screwed on for 12 rounds ?

The circumstances that you suggest about Clottey have been years ago and he has had himself a good career up to this point. I dont see any questions marks with him, especially seeing he fought the same Margarito that used hand wraps and held his own despite injuries. He never folded like Cotto did. Clottey's style dosent lend for him to sustain large quantities of damage
Re: Does Clottey have any chance of a win against Cotto ?
Good thing I don't bet these days.Thinking it will be much tighter over the last 24 hours.Clottey has to get physical....DO NOT wait on Cotto :cwm13:

I will give you this Xadu, Clottey did have the faster hands. Cotto had the better footwork, and Clottey's uppercut did play a primary role in the fight. Well called.
Re: Does Clottey have any chance of a win against Cotto ?
Clottey definitely had the faster hands. The blood was there to smell but he didn't go for the kill. To bad for him. He'll learn from this lost though. I hope he gets a rematch.

This is wildly off topic, but you don't take your name from NHL enforcer Wade Belak by any chance do you? I've wondered that ever since I noticed your name.
Re: Does Clottey have any chance of a win against Cotto ?
oh no. It's a uncreative way of nicking my name Kaleb - put it backwards. I think the combination with box is creative though being that I love boxing and blackboxes.

Not enough tho... I got the wrong pick but not sad about it... Clottey gave Cotto a very tough fight and even won in some people's scorecard...

Re: Does Clottey have any chance of a win against Cotto ?
These two appear evenly matched with or without the cut or possibly damaged knee.
I feel that Clottey could have won by stoppage but didn't have the killer instinct or got tagged with something that made him think too much about closing the show.
