I doubt that. If we're talking the Mayweather at 147 he would beat Trinidad with Trinidad chasing him but not landing much and Mayweather pot shotting him. Trinidad would lose a one sided decision and then say that mayweather didnt' stand and fight and Mayweather would be panned by critics and fans alike that he ran to beat Trinidad when if they are intelligent they know that if Mayweather stood and traded he'd get KO'd. It is a loss that wouldn't harm Trinidad's career at all. But if Mayweather showed he could hurt Trinidad it could be a really long night. As people with Trinidad's style are something of custom made for Floyd. If we are talking the now Floyd at 147. Because back then at 126 even if he weighed 147 he wasn't as experienced as he is now.
yea, i could see Mayweather landing potshots and running the entire 12 rnds to win a decision, but if he couldn't hurt small guys like Judah and Marquez i doubt he'd be able to hurt Trinidad in any way
Don't know if he needs to hurt him but Mayweather has a knack for catching fighters with his speed even if he can't hurt them its a pucn they'll never see coming and I'm not sure Trinidad fought someone as quick as Mayweather. De La Hoya wasn't as fast or as defensively gifted and Trinidad seemed to go into a shell whenever De La Hoya boxed in flurries as he constantly had Trinidad's feet moving and Mayweather would do the same. Trinidad seemed like a "searcher" like he was always searching for The KO even when it wouldn't come. George Foreman said you can wait all day and then not have a title anymore, that fits Trinidad perfectly. Against Mayweather he would constantly be waiting for the shots that would stop him but he'd never get his feet planted to set them up or give them. Besides that Mayweather is good at avoiding left hooks.

Trinidad IMO was more of a took a while to get started type of fighter, but i agree, if Mayweather didn't let him get started he would probably cruise to a lopsided UD, but if he ever let up like he did DLH, i think it would probably come back to bite him in the ass, Trinidad didn't have someone as fast, but on that same note, Mayweather has never faced anyone as strong and accurate as Trinidad was at 147, i think it'd probably be a closer fight than many think, but i'd give a significant edge to Mayweather by points, just don't really see him ever stopping Tito
Re: mayweather vs trinidad
Mayweather never fights real welterweights, let alone Trinidad.
Re: mayweather vs trinidad
Rican said it when he fights a legit welter then people can ask this question, otherwise it in an insult to Tito.
It is like comparing BHop at light heavy to Bob Foster. Just ridiculous.
Re: mayweather vs trinidad
The very first thing I thought of was the Corrales fight.Think Mayweather might just do a paint job on him but never rule out Tito at 147 out.If its a match on pure confidence and desire,I'd pick Tito in a heart beat over Floyd.

I am assuming you mean in a P4P mythical matchup type deal and it would be the version of Tito at 147 vs the version of PBF that fought at 126....
I go with Floyd to be honest because he would be over aggressive and Floyd would counter to a SD win.....
Though on the other hand if Floyd was at any time even stunned Trinidad would stop him, Felix was a great finisher I think he KO'd all but 2 of his opp at 147

had to be more than 2, cause Whitaker, De La Hoya, and Camacho all went the distance

Then 3 or 4 and I could only remember 2, but not many more I think everyone got the point.
I am sure I put the words "I Think" before the only 2

A PRIME De La Hoya beats Mayweather, a shot one gave him all he could deal with
Re: mayweather vs trinidad
Yes, and it was a PRIME De la Hoya giving Trinidad trouble, but Tito gave it right back...enough to win the fight (or make the fight really freakin close). Also Trinidad was powerful as hell

Yes a prime Trinidad did give Oscar trouble, wasn't trying to take anything away from Tito. at 147 Tito was a vicious puncher
Re: mayweather vs trinidad
...and given that an old De la Hoya gave Floyd all he could handle, then a Prime Trinidad would smack Floyd around
Re: mayweather vs trinidad
floyd will beat trinidad, power doe'snt mean a thing unless you can hit a clean shot against floyd.
skills doe'snt mean a thing: just look at what he did to jmm!
in the end it has to be the smarts. arguably, floyd is one of the smartest fighters around, even though he has a stinking attitude.
Re: mayweather vs trinidad
Floyd by UD.
tito would be outboxed for 12 rounds straight
