I no what he did to his wife was wrong but I can't help but feel pity for him. He must of been a troubled soul. Does anyone no what kind of upbringing he had. This all would make for a great film. Young boy climbs out of the slums to climb to the top of the boxing world, knocking out every one along the way. Only for his childhood demons to get the better him, leading him too self desruct, murdering his wife the killing himself, leaving the boxing thinking of what could have been

..a sad story all around reguardless of what actually happened. People take sports way too serious with all the i love this guy i hate this one. When it all comes down to it boxing, football, soccer etc don't really mean shit in the order of what's important in life. The guy and his wife were human, easy to sit back and say this and that about any of these fighters when none of us know nothing about them only what you read and see on t.v. I feel bad for them both and thier families. The job of the media is to sell and make money, if they wrote the truth you'd find out thier lives are really no different than most of ours and who wants to read about that. Bottom line I don't know the what, why, of what happened but my condolences to all. Especially the wife who seems to be an innocent victom.
Maybe his motorcycle accident when he got brain damage had something to do with the madness. Traumas to the brain can really send people physco.
Either way he took the pussys way out, its the kids I feel sorry for now they have no parents.
You know what ? GOOD RIDDANCE TO HIM !! I think this is a bit different to previous boxers dying early in life (Vernon Forrest, Diego Corrales). This guy KILLED his wife. Martial rows are just routine for top sportsmen, but taking a knife and killing your wife ? F**K HIM !! May he rot in hell.

This whole ordeal is tragic. Valero was set to be a star and all this breaks out. I can almost bet you Edwin had frontal lobe damage from boxing and his accident (I believe it was a motorcycle accident) that caused him to have a plate in his head, its either that or a chemical imbalance or both and of course his substance abuse....tragic

The guy was knead with talent but he obviously had serious issues, especially as he knew he had to go for some detox in Cuba. It is a real shame that boxing is losing such piece of talent, it is a shame for him that he couldn't face what he has done and went the easy way and a real shocker overall.
