:-\ I really need to start quoting. I was responding to ElTerrible's post obviously, not Miles.
Re: is pacquiao capable of stunning floyd?
yeah of course, and with his hand speed it can possibly lead to a bullshit stoppage, i was personally impressed with how maywether recovered, and came back....when i seen his knees buckle i had flashbacks of roy jones, but mayweather recovered well, and acted like a veteran

Floyd doesn't seem quite the same to me since his comeback. He was perhaps rusty against Marquez, but I think just as Mosley has slipped too far, Floyd might have slipped a little himself. He's much more flatfooted and arguably that little bit slower. I think Manny will have plenty of opportunities to find the target. It won't be like Hatton, but Manny will be able to make his chances IMO.
IMO Floyd has enough pop to hurt Pacquiao as well, and i thought that he looked as fast as ever last night, i just kinda felt that he was trying to put more weight into his shots in order to get Mosley to respect his power a bit
Perhaps he was. I agree that he could very well hurt Manny too, but I doubt Floyd has the same pop as Manny. Manny needs to be careful, but I really don't think Floyd has the pop of a Mosley or Pac. Pac gets hit a fair bit and he just regroups and comes on back at you. Hatton bothered Floyd for the first 5 rounds and he has nothing like Pacs speed, movement, southpaw stance nor power. I see nothing to suggest that Floyd can deal with Manny in the same way he did Marquez, Mosley nor even Hatton.
It's a fight that needs to happen. It will be huge. Manny should take the tests, and Floyd should not get too greedy at the negotiation table.

agree with most, but on the same note, Cotto doesn't have the same speed as Mayweather, and he was landing handily on Manny for most of the first half, if Manny misses like he did against Cotto and Floyd potshots him, Pacquiao could be in trouble

ask yourself this, is Pacquiao a harder puncher at welter then Mosley? Call me crazy but I couldn't see Pacquiao knocking out Margarito.
Pacquiao at 147 hasn't really been a one shot ko person he is more of a pressure and overwhelm kind of person. So I'm not sure if Pacquiao has the single shot power of Shane Mosley.
So probably yes but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't. At least not like Mosley did.
may not be as hard as mosley's but i think a bit faster so the effect could be similar. another thing with more speed, it's likely to stun your opponent since you're hitting him with punches he's not seeing.

But Pacquaio has the better track record chin wise. But that's obviously in part cause Floyd takes fewer clean shots.
how so? when guys like Larios, Marquez, and Morales all badly hurt Pacquiao?
I'm a bit confused. How exactly does Pac have a better track record chin wise when he has been KO'd not once but twice?

Very true but when I think about Floyd vs Pacquiao i see Floyd hitting Pacquiao with shots he wouldn't see coming rather then the other way around.
Floyd seems to be really good at adjusting whereas Pacquiao seems to have a Plan A and if Plan A doesn't work he stays with it till it can but people say that Mayweather hasn't fought anyone as fast as Pacquiao and will get hit. Pacquiao hasn't fought anyone as fast as Floyd and even people slower hit him with moderate success. I'd be more inclined to believe that yes it could be possible, but Pacquiao catching and stunning Floyd is less likely then Floyd catching and stunning Pacquiao imo. But I haven't seen the one shot power that Shane has coming from Pacquiao. I did notice one thing though, in the Mosley fight, Mayweather completely shut down Mosley's left hand and reduced him to trying to set everything up with the right hand.
One of Mosley's greatest and most famous punches was his signature left hook and I do not remember really seeing it once in that fight, I saw him try it but it was blocked by Mayweather. Also Mayweather hit Mosley with more lead right hands then a fighter should ever land on an orthodox.
So if I'm looking at Mayweather who is now taking away a fighter's left hand and hitting them consistently with straight rights, I'm even more convinced that, Mayweather stunning Pacquiao is more likely.
I have never seen someone take a straight right from Mosley to the chin like that and not be out.
If Floyd can take Pacquiao's shot if Pacquiao manages to land it then he has major issues.

one more thing with pacquiao is his excellent foot speed, in and out, and lateral movements. pacquiao will also throw punches from any angle, weird or not. this movements and punches in bunches at any angle might not give floyd time to set himself defensively and offensively.
imo pacquiao has real chances but he's still a big underdog against the much bigger floyd.
Re: is pacquiao capable of stunning floyd?
Mosley did, however it could be due to Floyd changing and actually coming foward i dont see him doing that if he fights Pac he will be back to his old ways keeping out of trouble.
Re: is pacquiao capable of stunning floyd?
Any boxer is capable of stuning floyd. Almost every guy he fights has his moments early, mosley did, zab, hatton etc...there's always a glimmer of hope then floyd adjusts and the rest is usually a shutout. Pac will catch him here and there, it's the rest of the fight that will get him another easy decision.
Re: is pacquiao capable of stunning floyd?
I believe the shot that Mosely hit Floyd with would have put Manny on his ass.

Why would you have doubts? Manny has better movement and uses both hands, I can easily see him landing some big shots. The Only reason Shane didn't land more was because he didn't throw his hands. It was like he ejaculated in the second round and it was over after that. Paquiao will be Bangin every round. Or as Lampley would say Bang, Bang, Bang...bang Bangin!
