Re: Haye: It's been confirmed, I'm fighting Wladimir
c`mon the hayemaker
anyone who has any affiliation to heavyweight boxing should be on their prayer mats right now begging for a haye win
i dont like the guy and i hate his work ethic (fights once a year, only has had 20 something contests, is already talking retirement this year) but it would be fantastic for the sport to see the eastern european reign ended with a big ko

Well, quite obviously I havent seen those programmes because they arent mainstream.
Real mainstream would be to have him walk on in Coronation street, that has the biggest audience but his promoter is too thick to think of something so simple!
They are the MOST watched talkshows in the ENTIRE country!!! How the fuck is that not mainstream?
Also - Haye is his own promoter. So you think he's failed because he hasn't secured a starring role in Corrie?
(;D;D;D.. fucks sake)
David Haye is without doubt one of the most popular sportsmen in the country right now and IF he beats Wlad and becomes recognised as "THE" Heavyweight champion of the world that popularity will treble without doubt. Haye has all the things going for him that he needs. He's apparently easy on the eyes for the ladies, he's got the potential to Knock any man in the world out with one punch, which always benefits you in this game, and though Wlad also has this quality he isn't willing to use it as much as Haye and that is why he is quite an unpopular champion in truth. He just doesn't take the risks and make the fights interesting and exciting.
Finally love him or hate him David Haye can sell a fight and trash talk with the best of them, which is why he is such a PPV hit in this country. He is a thoroughly marketable fighter that is finally meeting his potential. Should Haye beat Wlad Britain will have a major superstar with the world at his feet and I just cannot see a man with that potential retiring!
Re: Haye: It's been confirmed, I'm fighting Wladimir
For the sake of the HW division, I hope it's not a blowout either way. I hope it's an exciting, give-and-take fight, with both sides doing the giving AND the taking. I hope their respective chins hold up for at least a good 8-10 rounds, and not give out before that. I would HATE for either fighter to land a haymaker (no pun intended) and end the fight in the first 2-3 rounds.
If it's an exciting fight..... the public may even demand a rematch.
:)

Totally disagree.
Haye has a better chance against Wlad than he does against Vitali.
Haye should be thanking his lucky stars that Wladimir is fit because, if he hasn't, Vitali would be the one shattering Haye's dream of unifying the division.
I disagree but I hope you are right.
Re: Haye: It's been confirmed, I'm fighting Wladimir
In other words
"It's been confirmed. I'm getting knocked out by Wladimir"

I could not agree more about the end of the most boring heavyweight champion reign in recent memory. The Klitschkos have bored us for years now.
Haye better not pull out of this fight.

If he does, I'll kick his ass myself.

Why?
Everything you've said would indicate that the opposite is true.

Spot on. Was thinking that myself. ;D

He is, without doubt, one of the the most unpopular world champions we have ever had.
Wlad even picked up on it in his interview last week, claiming some Brits he was speaking to told him they wanted him to beat Haye and I don't even think he was making it up. If he asked me, I'd be wishing him the best of luck too. ;D
What does that make amir khan then? All of Haye's pay per views have consistantly out sold khan by a long way.
and let's not forget, the klit's a are so popular HBo stopped televising them.

I said above, unpopular was the wrong word. The boxer who 'splits opinion' the most is a better way of describing Haye.

Yep. And think about this statement. ALL the absolute greats divided opinions. I love the way Haye has marketed himself. It's been a breath of fresh air to the division.

Let's be clear here: Haye is not, and will never be, an 'absolute great'. Even if he beats the Klits, he won't be classed as one.

Haye is so popular HBO has never started televising him.
