Come on Erics, outside of the dream world you seem to live in when it comes to Haye, this would have to be considered a major upset in the sport of boxing.

Why does Haye have less then a 5% chance of winning and only by KO, you ask?:
#1. As mentioned, Haye has zero chance of out-boxing Wlad and winning a decision. Wlad is a much more skilled boxer, with twice the ring experience as a Pro, and at least 5 times more HW title fights. So forget about Haye winning a decision, it ain't gonna happen.
#2. Haye is "speedy" and has a bit of power, but let's be real here, it's not like Wlad hasn't faced big punchers before. These days because of his improved defense, size and reach, it's not that easy to hit Wlad with clean effective punches. Especially when you're getting a heavy jab in your face, and getting pounded with powerful straight right hands. Getting that one big shot in, that turns the fight around for Haye, will be about as likely as him winning the lottery.
#3. Manny Steward is going to have Wlad well prepared for this fight, he'll be in the best shape ever, and put on his best performance ever in front of his adopted home-crowd in Germany. I also believe we're going to see everyone of Haye's weaknesses exposed, including his chin/stamina, and lack of experience at the elite level. Haye's wild, desperate swings, in an attempt to get a KO, will only make him look like an amateur.
Anyway, that's my take, if i'm wrong, feel free to have a go at me July 3rd.
:bag:
Your the guy who calls David Haye supporters his boyfriends/girlfriend yet all of your threads are against Haye and very pro Wlad...I'm starting to think maybe you have a man crush on 'Wlady'. Strangly enough your putting me off Wlad every time i read your posts so ill be going for a Haye KO of your secret lover in 4.

You seem to really dwell on this homo stuff Matt, I mean Haye supporters do seem a bit gay at times, but it's not like I mention it in every post. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but are you a peter puffer Matt??
As for me having a man crush on Wlady, I realize you're just trying to annoy me, but naaah, I don't think that way about men. I respect them for what they're able accomplish in life, enjoy being friends, fishing, drinking, forum boxing buds with some of them, but when it comes sex, it's all about women for me.

You finally found something to say about the actual thread.
Thanks
Obviously as the matchmakers have it.. It is only a minor upset. When is the last time Wlad was listed this close to an opponent odds-wise?
And whoever thinks there is going to be a littel feeling out in the first 3 rounds is drastically wrong. The longer the fight goes the worse chance Haye has. I think he will be able to to box some with Wlad and win exchanges, but he will not win against a downhill-jackhammer jab.

I was thinking about this last night. Ali over Liston was what I came up with. The oddsmakers don't agree with me, but that's how shocked I'd be. I think Haye is thoroughly overmatched.
This would be one of the 5-6 biggest surprises to me in my boxing life.
Ali over Foreman (I was rooting for it, just didn't think it was possible)
Leon Spinks over Ali
Kirkland Laing over Duran (Kirkland freaking Liang?)
The Ragamuffin Man over Donald Curry
Salvador Sanchez (who?) over Danny Little Red Lopez
Vilomar Fernandez over Alexis Arguello
If Haye wins? This fight goes on that list.

The matchmakers aren't going to be able to sell a fight saying that Haye has no chance, it has to seem like Haye is a real threat to tap Wlad's "glass chin" and knock him out. I'll say this for Haye, for as little as he's been able to accomplish at the elite/championship level, he's done a hell of job hyping himself, and promoting this fight.
Unless Wlad just comes out and pulverizes Haye in the 1st couple rounds, (which isn't likely) Haye figures to have his moments. Like i've said in other threads/posts, every time Haye lands a jab or a love tap on Wlad, the Brit announcers and Haye's fans will be pissing themselves with excitement. Hell, Haye might even land a decent wild shot or 2, but ultimately, reality will set in for Haye, and Wlad's skill level, size, experience and punching power will dominate the action.

I wouldn't put it in the same category as say, Tyson - Douglas, but Lewis - Rahman I, comes to mind. If Haye KOs Wlad this would have to be one of the bigger HW upsets in years.
I think the main reason you believe it would not be a big upset, is you're overrating Haye and underrating Wlad.

Im in no way trying to annoy you I just want to know why your so against David Haye you do not seem to let people pick him in this fight you have to object I mean i respect Wladimir and think he is one hell of a fighter. Everyone is entitled to there views and picks when it comes to fights so you should let people choice without your obvious hating. I think Hornfinger is onto something here with your nuthugging. And for the gay comments im very much straight so you can zip your trousers back up and keep 'Wladys' sweaty sack on your face.

LOL! Knowing boxing history and being able to see things in advance are very different things. I had JMM, Oscar, Diaz, Hatton and Cotto all beating Manny!
Hell I had Hagler over Leonard and Mancini over Bramble!

a big chunk of the experts in the world think haye can win (maybe as high as 40%)
the only people in the world who thought douglass could win was probably him and his corner and i bet his corner had doubts
i dont think its anywhere near that magnitude
