Although my Mother brought me up to NEVER EVEN SO MUCH AS CAST A VIOLENT EYE (still don't quite get that one) She also told me NEVER get involved in other peoples domestic disputes. The woman will 9/10 turn on you.

I would certainly help any lady in distress but would assess the situation and think twice if it was a domestic situation, or if he had a weapon and were there other people around.

based on what exactly. No one said you have to put the bastard in the cemetry. I'm sure the last thing in my mind if some guy decides to attack me on the street is - oh well it's a 'domestic' leave em to it. Backward thinking that has meant 'domestic' violence is not taken seriously.

I must be backwards on this then, I just dont see the difference in domestic or if they know one another. By the time you determine her relationship status and run a check list she's already a black and blue mess laying on the ground. Chances are if you have to think on it, its not gonna happen...one of those situations that takes over and you jump in. Instinct. Not trying to sound a Hollier than thou twat but I don't care if she thanks me or not or turns, its not 'for her' as much as he needs a beating for punching women in the face. If it was a child or an elder would it matter as well?

Yes, help.
I once stepped in to help a teenage girl being attacked by 6 guys. I saved her, but unfortunately they turned on me, and I was beaten very badly, but I'm sure I would be dead, if it wasn't for two men that came running to my aid with a shotgun and a baseball bat. They saved my life, and I'm forever thankful for them helping me.
Would I do it again, after what happened to me, yes I would.
