Yep, makes no difference at all but I just wanted to point out the fact that Floyd fought well through adversity which goes unnoticed when speaking of this bout. Castillo deserves all the praise but at the same time, I think he fought as well as he did due to FLoyd's injured shoulders.. He was basically fighting a 70% of Floyd and the rematch proved just that.. If castillo somehow had Floyd's number and knew how to fight him, then the rematch should have been just as competitive but it wasn't even close so I think the first fight had more to do with Floyd's injury more than anything else.Quote:

I dont want to come across as an arse because you seen a decent enough chap Andre, but what has the bit in bold got to do with anything? Whenever I hear anything about that sort of way of scoring a fight (youve got to take the title from the champ sort of chat) I have to call in to question the opinion of the scorer. Castillo. Floyd was reactionary fo the most part and punching from the backseat. Pick your poison. Castillo had few long rights near end and actually lead a few earlier, I also give him a nod for inside punching while they were tied together. Thought he worked harder
Pretty well everyone who fights Mayweather works harder though, that's part of his game. Agree with most of the posts in this thread, if ever a 10-10 round is deserved this one fits. Giving one man the nod really speaks more to personal taste than any other factor imo(which lead me to first think Mayweather, in truth), it was a very uneventful round compared to any other in the fight.
The reason I wrote it is because the people who are siding with Floyd specially on utube over the whole fight, seem to consider him the champion here and so he can coast. He came for the title not the other way around. It doesnt effect my scoring I wouldnt give the nod just for it either; its a comment covering what makes up a small percentage of how people think though.Quote:

I scored it Castillio one clean hard professional style hit more than Floyd on this round, fuck the dancing.;D
I've still had to watch it a number of times cause you think ohh maybe Ive missed something there :-\ but I have him in front, every time Ive watched it even using the pause button to see if theres decent contact.. but hey that just me.
Its funny because the top comment on one of the series in this fight on uutbe says Anyone who scores round three for Castillio doesnt know shit about boxing and it has the most thumbs up of all comments.

It really is unfair if a round that looks like a draw is given to the boxer because he is the champion. But this is how they do it in boxing, isn't it? You have to beat the champ to be the champ because in a draw the defending champion retains the belt. So the belt being vacant upon the first bell sounding does not apply.Quote:

True.the challenger doesnt exactly have to knock out the champion to win but he must be very convincing to get the benefit of the scoring.

I penalize some fighters for being aggressive against a 'boxer' but not being intelligent and not really doing anything. This is a case of the opposite. I don't think Floyd was really trying to do anything but figure Castillo out a little bit. It's Youtube so the quality isn't great but I don't think Mayweather, or Castillo, controlled anything. Still, I would probably give the round to Castillo.
What defines what a fight is going to look like is when the saying comes to pass,"The fight begins in the third round." Mr. Castillo won the round on quantity landed. The rest of the fight Floyd didn't really do much and press row had him losing. I didn't really see the fight until my third sitting. All I can say about the rest of the fight is it takes more than footwork to take a title especially when you get hit with forty to fifty more punches than your opponent.
it was a very close round, i thought floyd landed more punches
I give the round to Castillo because he was the aggressor, landed seemingly better punches, was champion and Floyd is an ass. Simple.
The fight I had Floyd winning.
