Should he have put vic's hands up for him ? Hugged him just one more time, tounged ortiz down to make sure he was really sorry ? It's pretty funny how bad people want this guy to loose. It's funny what's cheating and what isn't in this sport. Ortiz throws one of the most obvious butts i've seen in boxing and there are complaints about what floyd did legally ? Margo loads his gloves and gets a title shot out of it, saul a on the same telecast sits and does nothing for pretty much his whole fight then they stop it when he hits gomez twice. Lot of shady shit going on while the one guy that hasn't got caught cheating catches shit. Amazing.
Welcome to Pacquiao's world ............
Like what I have said numerous times, Ortiz cheated and deserved what he got. But is Floyd satisfied with how he won the fight given that he's against a heavy underdog? If he is, then he does not need to explain himself. But people can not be faulted for thinking otherwise.
Re: No ones fault but Floyds!!!
Yeah he got what he deserved for the headbutt, a point taken away. I would let someone headbutt me and in exchange get two free power punches to their chin in any fight i will ever be in again. But nevertheless we didnt get to see who the better fighter is. This wasnt a street fight hence Ortiz getting a point taken away for a headbutt. The ring is no place for a sucker punch.
Re: No ones fault but Floyds!!!
So what did Ortiz get for that heabutt? A point taken away, a left hook to the chin, a straight right to the chin. All in exchange for one heabutt? Ok yeah i see thas a fair exchange.
Re: No ones fault but Floyds!!!
Didnt mean to sound like a dick in my last post but do you guys and/or girls see the arguement for the Ortiz side here? You at leaste have to admit we didnt get to see who the better fighter is. Theres 12 rounds for a reason.
Re: No ones fault but Floyds!!!
Vicdtor Ortiz acted badly with the head butt and then stupidly by not protecting himself.
Floyd was not classy and vicious. But the fault, in my view, lies 100% with ortiz.
Re: No ones fault but Floyds!!!
Ortiz definitely did not show that he is even equal to Mayweather, both mentally and physically. Otherwise, he would not even have resorted to that illegal headbutt, would he?
The headbutt arose from frustration on his part, and that's because he knows that he is not winning. And he is already frustrated that early in the fight! Sorry but he had his chance.
Re: No ones fault but Floyds!!!
Ortiz wasnt frustrated by the way the fight was going he was pissed cause Floyd smiled at him.
Re: No ones fault but Floyds!!!
If i was in a fight with someone and they smiled at me I would headbutt them too honestly. What I wouldnt do is crack a dude who isnt looking with his hands down.

Ortiz is a professional boxer and he got pissed because the opponent smiled at him??? What is that, a high school brawl?

As a professional boxer, Ortiz is there to fight that way he was trained to, not to respond to every facial expression the opponent will dish out.
Re: No ones fault but Floyds!!!
Yeah I didnt say he should have headbutted him, I said I would have lol, Ortiz is a nitty gritty fighter and vicious. He needed to take Floyd outta his comfort zone to win this fight. I would go out on a limb to say most fighters fight dirty you just dont see it. I see it all the time in the way fighters throw there elbows with their hooks and ram the heads into the other fighter. Not as blantantly as Ortiz did but it always happens. When Ali would grab the back of peoples head that was illegal. It was something that was a part of Ali's style that he constantly got away with. Fighters do what they can get away with alot of times. Just like Floyd did to Ortiz as a matter of fact. Im just not one that will crack their opponent when his hands are down, they are not looking and walking backwards and I dont agree with it. Thats not to say I dont understand it somewhat on an instinctual level.
Re: No ones fault but Floyds!!!
Anyway you look at it Floyd threw a sucker punch, and a sucker punch is not part of the pedigree of boxing.
Re: No ones fault but Floyds!!!
Dirty boxing on the other hand is generally just part of the sport, even taught by some coaches, planned for by all fighters, and if your in a fight its pretty much expected.
Re: No ones fault but Floyds!!!
Not to mention all the elbows and headbutts accidently thrown and landed.
Re: No ones fault but Floyds!!!
I betcha Ortiz wishes he didn't launch that headbutt now. After seeing it lead to the chain of events it did.
Cortez should have had everything straightened with the timekeeper before calling time in. He was clueless. Cortes should have had total focus on both fighters instead of the timekeeper. In floyd fights i've learned, never apologize to floyd for anything, leaving yourself exposed and never look at the ref, even if the ref says something, leaving yourself exposed.
