I don't think anyone's arguing the way Cotto won his belts. Yes, he fought 3 times for vacant titles. But so what? I would argue that if anyone in boxing today has a sterling list of boxing opposition throughout the years, it's Cotto. I'm sure I'd get close to 100% agreement here on this board that Cotto has an admirable list of opponents throughout his career. So what is the point about his having fought 3 times for vacant titles? Anyone with access to BoxRec can obviously confirm that. Does it take away from Cotto's remarkable, HOF career? IMO.... not one damn bit.

I'm gonna say it again. Yes I'm partial toward Puerto Rican boxers. Just like you're partial toward Mexican boxers. Totally to be expected. But the difference between you and me is that I am capable of praising a Mexican boxer or giving him his due recognition. Also, I don't dislike all Mexican boxers. Among Mexican fighters I've always spoken well of: MAB, JMM, "Finito" Lopez. I never liked Fernando Vargas, DLH, Erik Morales, or JCC (Sr or Jr). I'll go further. I'm not a fan of every Puerto Rican boxer either. I'm the biggest critic of John Ruiz.... and I've never been a "Macho" Camacho fan, nor a Daniel Santos fan. Oh...... and another difference between me and you: I man up to when I'm wrong. And don't tell me you're never wrong, because that further undermines your credibility.

I get in here for fun. But I'm not above defending myself and arguing with you or anyone else. And if it gets to trading insults and getting personal.... then I guess I'm not above that either. But I try to retain my objectivity whenever possible.
