He's a two-weight division champion, same as Zab. He's got a better record than Zab, strictly from a Won-Loss perspective and particularly in KO percentage. These things themselves don't carry an argument, sure... but then again, no one is claiming Zab is a hype job, right?
About the only thing I'd add regarding the comparison is that JuanMa has fallen more steeply off his two losses, than Zab fell after his more famous losses. Zab came back and regained at least some of his form and previous luster. It's still to be seen whether JuanMa can do the same.
Juanma is definitely not a hypejob and I believe he can regain form. Of course he can.. Boxing fans are too fickle minded to think that a fighter is washed up after two losses. Perhaps Juanma isn't the same, mentally, perhaps he's not as confident in his ability as before, but physically, he gots it..
I rate Juanma above Zab for the simple fact that he's never bitched out..
JUanma is a bad bad man and he's my favorite Rican fighter!
so... i guess you must rate juanma above duran, tyson, klitchko, cotto, dawson, etc... for the same reason.
we'll see what happens.
In terms of heart/warrior mentality, yes I do rate Juanma above the guys u mentioned.. Dawson is a mental midget and DUran,Tyson, and Cotto have all quit at one time or another.. HOw many times did TYson quit again? lol ANd let's not even get into Zab cuz there are too many..
IM not even talking about accomplishments here. BUt heartwise, Juanma has bigger cojones than all of them..
ONly if Kneeguel Cotto had the heart of JUanma.. that'll be the day
yeah i didn't think you were. zab, tyson, cotto, klitchko have all accomplished more, are better fighters and are indisputably ranked higher than juanma ever will be.
as for his ball size... i have very little interest.

Really he doesn't any more. His power ain't as wicked as it once was. He's lost speed. And his ability to take a punch isn't there any more.

I'm not so sure we can say he's lost his power, although admittedly his punches don't seem to have the "crispness" they once had. I've gone back and rewatched some of his earlier fights, and his punches, especially that short, quick right hook... is a thing of beauty. For sure his ability to take punches has been impacted.
JuanMa has an super-impressive resume already, and it'll be even more impressive if he can somehow pull off the upset in June. I want it to happen... but of course I wouldn't bet on it.
