I stated in my post why I hope for that.
It's the first sentence in the post.
The one right above the one where I said I hoped it didn't happen.

Floyd Mayweather Will Fight Manny Pacquiao, Under One Condition | Vibe
Hypothetical Plan Premise: Mayweather makes a $50 Million ghost bet; he losses the fight with better odds; gets the rematch; another $50 million ghost bet he beats pacquiao with better oddds cause he lost the first fight; wins second fight; cements his legacy says it just took him time to figure out pacquiao. Ok, I go with greedy genius.

It true they do not deserve it and the fight should have happened about 2009.

Yup, that's what's up.

Both guys are going to make more money than most athletes could even dream of, but still I have to wonder how much less Manny would get for the Floyd fight now as opposed to back in 2010 if he had agreed to the drug test.
In other words, how many millions did that one punch from JMM cost him? I mean we have to be talking high into the 8 figures, because I think originally they were going to do a 50/50 split.

It is there fault about what they could have made for not making the fight earlier. They should be happy with the small crumbs they are making now. :)

I'd actually rather see a Pac vs JMM 5 over a pac vs mayweather. How much engagement is mayweather actually going to allow before tying pac up? He's not going to let pac bang on his body if he can't get to his head. Surely the counters will work but only one at a time. It will end up being a typically lower than normal punch output mayweather signature fight unless pacquiao finds a way to out work the connects forcing mayweather to increase his connects. No way mayweather turns into a Algieri gazelle. Jmm vs Pac has never failed to keep me on the edge of my seat, standing or freaking jumping.
Not that this shit is in context but it does say something.

The thing with Pac is everyone focuses on what Pac can do, oh look how fast he is, look how aggressive he is, look how hard he hits. People tend to forget what Floyd does best, and that's making guys miss, making guys pay with counters, dictating pace, strafing guys with lightning fast lead punches and tying guys up when the situation gets too hairy. He does these things better than anyone in boxing.
Manny struggled hard against JMM 4 times. Floyd is superior to JMM in every category. I don't know what people expect Manny to do. Are people really naive enough to believe he's just going to run at Floyd, throw a flurry and get him out of there?
Re: It could be close - Arum in talks with Showtime for Floyd /Pacquiao Mega Fight
This fight has past it's sell by date, if they ever do fight what happens if it turns out to be
a great disappointment, stranger things have happened.:o

If this fight happens, which most of us have doubts about, it will be exciting. I don't think Floyd will be allowed/able to fight his normal style.
I'm am definitely not saying Manny would win, I'm just hoping for an exciting fight.
What the hell, it's better late than never!!
Don't get me wrong, I think it's a tough fight for Floyd and you're 100% right in that Floyd is going to have to change up his usual style and bring his A+ game to the table if he wants to win. Manny is fast, he's southpaw and he hits hard. I just don't see him beating Floyd. I never did.

Floyd was arguing for the lion's share of any future purse split based on their respective PPV numbers for about a year before JMM sparked Manny. The sparking dropped the fight's overall market value and Manny's bargaining position in making the split but for a long time before it happened Floyd would only have accepted the lion's share of the purse.
