I guess Stiverne was in the gym by himself most of the time, "Hey Bermey, if you have any questions we'll be across the street, having a cup of coffee. Don't worry about locking the place up, I already asked one of your sparring partners to do that. Oh yeah, drink some water."
Stiverne is preparing for an important fight and nobody is asking, "How are you feeling, Champ?" ten times a day?
He's been preparing for fights for years and years and he doesn't know his own body enough to say, "Something is wrong, I don't feel right." with enough conviction to get their attention?
I guess it could happen.
To be fair just to look at him and
the amount of excess weight he carries, how good are his trainers, or does he even listen?
Does he have the same trainers as this guy ?
Oh Al, you are fixated on this man. Man crush much?
There is a massive difference. Stiverne was supposed to be the heavyweight champion defending his title. He should have been well prepared and in shape.
Re: Bermane Stiverne remains hospitalized after title bout with severe dehydration!!
One man dehydrated the other man injured his hand both have been confirmed- the young guy handled his adversity, the champ didn't.

I'm questioning your logic nothing else , you have one rule for others then your hero fury is exempt from the same criticism.
So you could say fury doesn't listen to his trainers also as he is a fat fuck also ? I was asking a question as you always have double standards.
Everybody knows here that you get a semi on when you talk about fury ! I'm asking why Stiverne was a disgrace for being fat but it's ok for fury?
My issue is with your double standards not about a fat glass jawed wannabe.

It's probably really dehydrating to go 10 rounds after you've already had the living shit knocked out of your brain also. Stivernes best two rounds were the 11th and 12th, and he's ALWAYS had a terrible output. Wilder was by far the best puncher and fighter he'd ever been in against, nothing seems to be made out of the fact that it was a big step up for him as well. The idea of this as damage control for the guy is laughable.

Fighting with one hand is a little different than fighting with no energy or body control. I have seen guys win fights and score knockouts with one hand.
Same could be said: We saw Wilder KO Scott with a left hook. So, why couldn't he stop a weakened Stiverne with half of a right hand or with one good left hook??
Re: Bermane Stiverne remains hospitalized after title bout with severe dehydration!!
I don't think people realize how serious Rhabdomyolysis is. People back in the day of less sophistication would have called it "over training". But it is a diagnosed medical condition.

Yeah but it's not something you catch or happens for no reason, it's caused by the wrong doing of the guy who's afflicted, in this case overtraining and not consuming enough fluids. He never caught the flu, or got in a car crash, or something else beyond his control. Him and his team trained stupidly.
So whether it's true or not, either way it comes back on him and his team. Adequate preparation is just as big a part of the sport as the actual performance.
Re: Bermane Stiverne remains hospitalized after title bout with severe dehydration!!
I don't know how much to make of this... How hard is it to keep a heavyweights hydration levels up? It's not like he was having to dehydrate to make weight, how could his team fuck up so bad?
As for his other diagnosis... Wouldn't be surprised if it's just King orchestrated bullshit to try and press for a rematch, we may never know I guess.
Rhabdo is complex, there's no way to pinpoint if he started the fight with it or developed during the fight from being under conditioned.
Either it's King spun bullshit or his team are incompetent amateurs, neither makes it a valid excuse.

I'd be interesting to know. Rhabdo is also caused by actual trauma/concussive force to the muscles. Maybe the combination of physical exertion and having a massive puncher like Deontay pounding on your arms, shoulders and body for 12 rounds caused it. I was reading about JDS getting it from a UFC fight. Combination of crazy physical exertion and 25 minutes of getting punched and wrestling along the cage.
Either way, I never understood the whole excuse thing. When guys say "ohh I lost that fight because I didn't take it seriously/wasn't in shape/didn't train properly/had to cut too much weight/ect", I think less of them than if they just went out and lost outright.
Re: Bermane Stiverne remains hospitalized after title bout with severe dehydration!!
He said he couldn't get off and dehydration will do that to you.
He has a "loose shape" so defination and tone doesn't appear on him.
Today many heavies want to hold as much weight as possible but that will backfire when you need to go the distance with someone thats on the move.
Now we'll see what this young man is all about!! Congrates to Wilder he did better than I expected especially head movement away from outside punches. He held is own inside to a degree and when he tired he stayed away from in coming shots. Good job!

It's like his muscles were wasting away. Quite a shame.

He didn't look "toned" at the weigh in. In fact, he looked a little flappy and smaller. He looked like he lost muscle mass.
