True too. I find it oh so convenient that every fighter seems to have an "off night" when they step up in competition and lose. They'll smash 30 bums and journeymen, but when they fight a legit world class fighter and they aren't able to do the same things to him that they were able to do to the bums, they say "ohh I felt weird, I couldn't get off, I was sick, I was injured, blah blah".

Maybe you just fought someone who was a lot better than your normal competition.

Glad Stiverne is okay now, but training is just about all a boxer's job is, particularly if your a belt holder. I can't think of any other professional sport where you get a mulligan for not doing your job correctly.
No interest in an immediate rematch.

Bullshit. The Ray Austin fight only serves as proof that was a typical performance from Stiverne, watch the first 10 rounds of that fight and get back to me. Wilder was barely fazed because he never totally walked into anything, pretty well every time he got tagged he was backing away and braced for the punch. That tends to produce a much lesser impact than if you are to dive into a punch off balance
