Ramos comes in swinging & Peterson slips & jabs again. right hand lands for Peterson. Peterson jabbing. Crowd is booing...not sure for whom. Ramos jabbing now. Three punches land for Ramos. peterson cracks him back. Right & then an upper in close by Ramos. Peterson jabs. Hard right hand by Peterson. Nice. Peterson jabs. Two punch combo by Peterson. Ramos seems to be a bit cautious. Lowblow from Ramos. Right hand by Peterson. Body shot & then a 3 punch combo by Peterson.

I like the other Peterson better. He's a bit more fluid. This one seems to push his punches a bit more.

Wow, they gave Boone a draw, that's surprising, I didn't see the decision, but he didn't deserve a draw, Simon won IMO. Boone's not bad though, he got shutout by Anthony Thompson but he's not skillless, he just got outworked and outlanded by Simon, surprising that he got a draw. Boone just doesn't punch, he's solid defensively but defense and taunting doesn't score points.

I saw a tape of Kolle, Ward has nothing to worry about at all. Its a showcase fight.

Both Peterson's are good, but Anthony might be pulling ahead, he's got the skills, and unlike Lamont, he's a good puncher too. Hard to say, they're both good, but Anthony might be pulling ahead.

Freitas should win. But just as Teddy Atlas said, Raheem is in the position to be more hungry at this point in each career's. Not to mention, the skill factor Raheem brings. Raheem's belief in himself is going to count for a lot in this fight.

My buddie still gives me hell, for Freitas losing to his fighter, Corrales. heh But Raheem is going to give Acelino room, unlike Diego who stalked Acelino all night long, to FINALLY KO him in the 10th. Frietas expended all his energy, running/herky-jerky and moving, to finally be stopped. But Diego made him do all that. Raheem won't stalk Freitas.

Raheem's the smarter fighter and that counts for a lot! BUT once he feels the power of Freitas, he's going to feel the effects of a fighter who could go up to 140 lbs. Raheem doesn't depend on his legs that much! Also, Erik was able to land a few nice shots on Raheem on that horrendous night. But Erik's power doesn't transfer to 135 lbs. While Freitas' has bombs for hands at 135 lbs.

I agree,the way my boy Chico beat Freitas,Raheem won't be able to do that and if unverified reports from various people on this site are true,that Raheem's chin is not all that great,then I feel for him when Popo lands. I wish Popo was not soooo off key though,nothing wrong with lateral movement but the way he swings and runs,I wish he would sit down more on his shots! I am still split bro,as Raheem has been described as a Casamyor type fighter and if he is as good as Casamyor but with more pop,I predict a UD for Raheem but if Raheem's chin is weak,Freitas,TKO10.I think I want Freitas to win more simply because he only lost to a Chico Corrales who just was not to be denied,does not mean Freitas is not good AND he is enjoyable to watch! Let me start by saying this...I like both of these fighters...but only as fighters...by that I mean...it's just another bout to me.

I don't have a favorite tonight...but I do lean towards Raheem.

Reasons for the Raheem lean:

#1: Opposition. Of late Raheem has fought the better opposition...but only of late & he's gonna be riding high on it. Freitas has fought the better opp career wise...but the longevity factor aint gonna phaze Raheem as he is going to be coming in hungry & jacked over the Morales win & he will be eager to make statement #2! Freitas has beaten who lately? Errrrrrrrrrr...yeah...

#2: Freitas vs Casamayor. First let me just point out that Casamayor should have gotten the nod there. Casamyor gave Freitas hell after about the 5th round & if not for that bullshat knockdown call and that wack-ass foul that I wouldn't have even called...Freitas took home the win. If a rough around the edges fighter like Casamayor can pose that much of a problem...I got a good feeling that Raheem will too.

#3: Mayweather. He's got Mayweather in his corner. If Raheem's skills weren't good enough...now he's got one hell of a coach to cheer him on & push him in the direction of perfection. Whether or not Mayweather will make a visible difference is still out for discussion...but I truly do not see how he would not. Mayweather's defensive skills always show through with his charges. Oscar was visibly different as was Floyd when the switch was made. Raheem is impressionable enough I would imagine. Most fighters tend to settle in around the end of the 2nd or 3rd round with a new trainer...if Raheem can take PoPo's power...maybe we'll see the kid branch out into something new...if not...I still say that Raheem's got enough to dodge & out work Freitas either way.

Okay gents...now there's my contribution to the conversation...& I aint an authority or even a half assed fan of either fighter...so tear that apart...add to it...use it...or don't...whatever you want to do...but I just wanted to jump in with a few odds & ends thoughts...because in the end...I think that this is a very "iffy" type of fight that is going to go down depending on which man shows up & how.

Some excellent points Wack but I'm not sure about the odd one here and there. I have heard that Mayweather did not spend as much time in Raheem's corner as he could,so that may not be relevant. I don't think that the Morales fight should be used as a barometer for this fight,because as much as I love EM,he did not have the right attitude,the attitiude I expect Freitas to have. Also, I am still not sure abou the Casamayor analogies with Raheem,Casamayor was one of THE most under rated boxers around and he gave Freitas,Corrales and Castillo hell i their fights,I don;t think Raheem is in his league ALTHOUGH I have not seen enough of him to say that assertively.

Okay gents...now there's my contribution to the conversation...& I aint an authority or even a half assed fan of either fighter...so tear that apart...add to it...use it...or don't...whatever you want to do...but I just wanted to jump in with a few odds & ends thoughts...because in the end...I think that this is a very "iffy" type of fight that is going to go down depending on which man shows up & how.

Some excellent points Wack but I'm not sure about the odd one here and there. I have heard that Mayweather did not spend as much time in Raheem's corner as he could,so that may not be relevant.

You may be right there. If he didn't get involved then he may not even be a factor in Raheem's corner or preperation...but he was credited for doing something...but if it's as little as you said...then Raheem has to go back to relying on his natural abilities...which he seemingly has in bunches.

I'm not using it as a barometer in anyway other than I'm saying the man just outclassed a HOF fighter...something that PoPo is not...try as he might.

I agree that Morales might not have been 100% in the right frame of mind...but that's his fault & the win by Raheem wasn't the fluke that most Morales fans (myself included) want it to be.

Again...I gotta disagree here...Raheem is far superior a boxer than Casamayor. He's faster, slicker, & much more brilliant technically.

Casamayor did give them hell in those fights...I agree...I never said that he didn't...I think that Casamayor is just a bit ruff around the edges. He's got power & he can box...but he's more on with his power than Raheem & Raheem is more on with his boxing abilities than Casamayor is.

The thing is this...all 3 men that we are discussing are great fighters...but only 2 of those 3 are in the square tonight...& those 2 are gonna give a hell of an effort to prove who is the better...I think that in the end...we'll both be proven wrong to some extent on our points...but aint that the fun of boxing?!?!?!

Wow, they gave Boone a draw, that's surprising, I didn't see the decision, but he didn't deserve a draw, Simon won IMO. Boone's not bad though, he got shutout by Anthony Thompson but he's not skillless, he just got outworked and outlanded by Simon, surprising that he got a draw. Boone just doesn't punch, he's solid defensively but defense and taunting doesn't score points.

I saw a tape of Kolle, Ward has nothing to worry about at all. Its a showcase fight.

Both Peterson's are good, but Anthony might be pulling ahead, he's got the skills, and unlike Lamont, he's a good puncher too. Hard to say, they're both good, but Anthony might be pulling ahead.

Actually I think Lamont is better. Anthony just hits harder ;) I think that people think Anthony is pulling ahead because of his punching power. But in terms of boxing ability and savvy I'd have to go with Lamont. I think Lamont is the better of the two, while Anthony is the harder puncher.

Lamont is slicker imo. And Andre Ward DOES have a lot to worry about with Kolle, trust me. If Ward wins this easy I will be very shocked and impressed.
