Dried fish or any preserved vaccum packed fruits and veggies are allowable. But US custom can't tolerate longanisa.
Tanduay lapad was my drink choice when I was in 6th grade to 2nd year high school with my tropa. Cuz they're really cheap and easy to hide. ;D I can't stand Genebra gin though. I hear stories about embalmers using Genebra gin as a good alternative for formaline.

A Fil-Am super middleweight boxer will debut on May 23, 2008 at the Quiet Canon in Montebello, CA. His name is Ian Mauleon. He was born and raise in Oakland, California, one of three boys of Mario and Erlinda Mauleon.
Sadly, Mauleon was raised in an area where gangs were prevalent. Thus, it was not surprising that he and his brother drifted to such company. As a result, an elder brother was killed in a drive-by shooting at age 16 and another brother was in prison most of his teen years.
Due to the unfortunate incidents that befell his brothers, Ian decided that it was time to channel his energy to something more positive and thus stay out of trouble.
In 1994 he got involved with amateur boxing. Boxing suited him well as it satisfied his craving to fight without getting involved in street fights where he was known to knock-out guys with one swing of his right hand.
Ian started his amateur career in his hometown, Oakland, California. Over time, he compiled a record of 49-7. Then he moved to LA to pursue the sweet science.

Ian Mauleon.
In his last amateur fight in May 2007, he lost a close fight during the US Olympic Trials in Salt Lake City, Utah.
When asked why he turned to boxing, his reply was: - “We were all raised with a competitive nature, that is why in everything I do, I always want to win. And with boxing, you don’t have teammates to rely on, so everything comes from yourself”
Ian Mauleon will debut on Friday, May 23, 2008 at the Quiet Canon in Montebello, California. Montebello is a bedroom community east of Los Angeles where one will find many quaint houses with well manicured lawns. A good number of Filipinos reside and/or work in that town.
Mauleon will be fighting a southpaw middle weight named Thomas Rittenbaugh. Rittenbaugh parades a 2-2-2 record, not a bad competition for a beginner like Mauleon.
The fight card is a promotion of All Star Boxing, the Espada Boxing and the Brooklyn Gio’s Boxing Club. It is dubbed as “Boxing of the Raising Stars.
Tickets are still available at the ALL Star Boxing. Call Ramon at 213-926-1885 or John at 818-795-7084

I usually don't easily get impressed by these 'pinoy just got famous in the US' thing, but when I heard Pineda's voice on TV patrol, I was so impressed. I'm a professional-level musician so I'm hard to please when it comes to music, but again, he is dang good. If you want to follow his activities, go to:
Journey Tour Information
and click the review links; they're doing really well with about 20 concerts, all packed, a month. The Journey fans love him...:)

Just kiddin' pare. I meant I'm a professional level musician but not actually practicing professionally. I didn't choose musical career, as you know, there's none here in the Phil - I mean you can't live on it here especially on classical music. Just a hobby...

Hello mga pare ko! Kamusta na ba kayo diyan? Just found this thread. I'm from San Jose, CA. Anyone from the bay area? Long time reader po ako but not an active poster. Pinanganak sa Valenzuela, tumira hanggang dalawampung taon at lumipat kami ng aking mga pamilya (7 total) dito sa US noon 1990. Nakabalik na ako doon ng 5X (1996, 1998, 1998, 2001, 2004). Nagbabalak bumalik next year bago ako ikasal. Bibigyan daw ako ng "party" ng mga pinsan ko. Meron daw magandang club sa Bocaue, LOL! Anyway, that's all for now.
