Re: Introduce yourself to the NEW POSTERS here...
I’m KING, been hooping around all boxing forums since I don’t know when. I’m an architect and I travel a lot. I do visit Monte Carlo, Vegas and Macau all the time (for free and very fortunate). My favorite getaway vacation paradises are Bali in Indonesia and Amanpulo in the Philippines. I have passion for boxing since the early Tyson days (The 80’s era). I used to box but not seriously just for fun and exercise.
I’m a product of mixed race… I’m American-Spanish-Filipino-Japanese-Portuguese. My ancestors do experiment a lot. Hehehe…

That must mean that you're part weed and part shroom, what's your main nationality.
If a someone asks you what you're nationality is just tell them that you're a melting pot (or cocktail) of everything good in this world and you can just stop at that.
By the way what's Amanpulo like? I've never been there before.

Re: Introduce yourself to the NEW POSTERS here...
They call me Youngblood. I've always liked to fight, so as to keep me from going to juvenile hall, my dad thought it best I join boxing. That's the short of it. So far so good.
I knew nothing about boxing from a history or fan point of view, but this place has given a great foundation to start. Plus the training section is the best on the net. I've been to all the sites, but only hang my hat here at Saddoboxing.com...for IMHO, though not the largest site, it is by far the most knowledgable and simply The Best.
p.s. if you are an amateur and know of shows anywhere in Ontario or Michigan, please PM me and let us keep in touch. Been trying to build a network of ams sharing this sort of info for all of our benefit.

Re: Introduce yourself to the NEW POSTERS here...
WOW I got to this thread late!
My name is Carlo. I live in the suburbs of New Jersey and watching boxing has been a part of my family for god knows how long. I've been a part of this forum for a year now and it's easily one of favorite places to be.
Ali vs Frazier III gave my great grandfather a heart attack because he was Frazier's biggest fan so I can add that to a list of family diseases: hypertension, diabetes, and boxing!
I'm 24 years old. I used to be a Environmental Health Specialist but I quit that job and now I'm a volleyball coach for my old college.
My favorite boxers are Pacquiao, Pavlik, Cotto, Ali, Leonard, Tyson.

I actually just read something about Air Traffic Control Officers. They are apparently the highest paid positions you can attain without a college degree. They're up in the 6 figure annual salaries. I don't know if they require a degree where you're from but that's a great job if you can get it! GOOD LUCK!

Just wondering, why do you hate Hatton and Calzaghe so much? People from England aren't supposed to hate their countrymen. I think AL also dislikes them very much and he's also from England. That's like Puerto Ricans not liking Cotto or Filipinos not liking Pacquiao..I'm curious..

Cheers, I originally wanted to be a pilot but found out because of my eyesight I couldn't. All you need is 2 A-Levels which take 2 years to complete, I've just finished the first year and completed my exams, 1 year to go. However I'm taking a gap year once I finish next year, I need the break. So therefore you don't need a degree (I wasn't planning to go to Uni anyway). It would be great if I got it. Great job and great pay = happy days ;D

Re: Introduce yourself to the NEW POSTERS here...
A little late but ah well. My name is actually shomari. Live in sacramento, cali (love long walks in the park, moonlight dinners blah blah lol !!) Work for the state of california doing social work. Actually started off only really betting on boxing (and any damn thing else for awhile) stopped while i was semi-ahead but loved the sport. Continued watching wanted to get back into betting so i browsed the net for info to help influence my picks lol !!! Went to a couple other forums they were'n't bad but this was the best. Found out i really acutally knew nothing about the sport and wanted to jump from being just a casual fan, stuck around here learned and the rest is ....you know. Now i love boxing so much that aside from just friendly wagers (where i almost always bet on the underdog reguardless of who's fighting) got so wrapped up in the sport that i replaced betting with actually watching. Shit in the past i didn't even watch most of the fights just cared about the result, so i knew a little but no where near as much as i do now. Happily married to the best woman in the world (a lot say that but my baby is the best) three kids, usually can be found high and broke.

I think the reason guys from England are anti hatton & calzaghe on here is because they're big boxing fans and they see that Hatton & Calzaghe have maybe had an easier ride and are hyped more than they maybe deserve. But theres also a sort of mentality in the UK with most our sports stars/music stars etc, we love them on the way up but once they get to the top we turn on them (imo the tabloid newspapers dont help). I think its ok for english guys to hate Calzaghe though as he's welsh lol only kiddin! Me personally i'm a fan of both of them, i understand they maybe not as good as theyre hyped but they've done a lot for the sport in the uk and are both great fighters. Volleyball coach that must be 1 of the coolest jobs ever!!

Re: Introduce yourself to the NEW POSTERS here...
Hi Guys, names Sanjeeva, I'm 33 and my friends call me Sanj. Been member of the board for a while, but mainly lurking. Would love to get more involved but never really get the time. Live in Nottingham, England at present (train at the same gym as Carl Froch) but will be moving to Australia soon.
Me and my bro have been into boxing since I can remember, watching all the big fights with my dad and his mates. Have had a few jobs including Investment banking and the army, but currently working as a doctor. Hope to get into the medical side of boxing or refing in Australia.
This is a great place to chat about the sweet science with like minded fans and it certainly would be great to meet up for a beer and a fight. Planning on getting out to the US for a lot more fights, so would be good to put a face to the forum members.
Am a fan of old masters (Ray Robinson, the original sugar) and the modern greats (PBF, you may hate him but any true boxing fan respects his skills).
As soon as I get a regular place will be starting to collect all the great fights.

Good to see you step into the light.
I've often wondered how many people like you are around.
Anyway good stuff and good luck with the boxing. :)

Re: Introduce yourself to the NEW POSTERS here...
Whats up forum, Name's Jesse been getting reamed on my Cotto post lately but I been trying to make amends;)
My dad has been into boxing casually for a long time, but always seemed to watch most every better than average Mexican fighter, hmmm may explain some of my other posts huh, haha thats discussion for a boxing therapist I think.
I live in the South Bay / Los Angeles Area, 28 years old, not married, no kids, I spend most of my time at work (I'm an insurance agent/broker), I been trying to get my girls to do more of my work lately as the posts/threads have gotten better and better. Although I don't like to fight/argue I love to debate (again makes more sense on my posts now) and will usually play devils advocate.
Fav. Fighters in no particular order
Julio Ceasar Chavez
Antonio Margarito
Miguel Cotto
Manny Pacquiao
Erik Morales
First boxing recollections
Tyson V. Douglas
Chavez V. Randall
Chavez V. Whitiker
Chavez V. Taylor
Chavez V. Camacho
First Boxing Heartbreak
Chavez V. Randall
Although its noit my first watching Pac-Man destroy every Mexican out there is very heartbreaking (especially cuz my girlfriend is part Filipina and she doesnt let me forget it)
Best Boxing moment
Might still get flack for this one, but Toni V. Cotto. Alot of it has to do with what Manny is doing to every Mexican fighter in the lighter divisions. It was nice to see one for us, although it was at the expense of another Latin/Hispanic fighter.
Great Thread by the way.
