I watched it after I knew the results and had listened to everyone heap praise on Hopkins, so I expected it to be a lot less competitive. I believe I actually had Pascal winning by a point or two when I scored it.Quote:

Didn't have it that close, hop still won for me but it was a close fight. I felt in the first fight tho hop basically schooled pascal and the kds and some homecooked judging cost him a win.Quote:

Both guys have landed some good shots in round 1. Berto with the bodywork and Zaveck landing a couple of nice head shots. Berto very well may win this fight and move forward, but he needs to improve his defense.
Baldo could teach berto a thing or two about footwork, its still terrible. Looks stronger than zaveck
Have always said it, Bertos legs are way to tweety bird thin for as top heavy as he fights.
I think Berto has to be the one fighter I've been most critical of for at least 2 yrs...he is horribly overstated and accident prone in the big picture.

This is a much better fight then I would have guessed.
Berto is landing some nice body shots. Can Zaveck land a right hand up top that does some major damage before these shots wear him down.
Zavecks dropin berto at some point in this fight, and berto is becomin the king of holding.
Who wants it more type of fight will be telling later... Jans got a short left hook that might do it .

Berto just throws power shots in flurries. He gets punched out because he is so muscular and throwing so many power shots.
Then Berto has to take a break and his opponents can come back and he just stands there (all squared up).
Berto ain't going anywhere big...he's already been there. Hope he got lots of profile pics and hotel hand towels.

Berto seems like one of those athletes who has a little sprint, then needs a rest, then sprints, then needs a rest. He doesn't seem to able to get a constant flow going.
I fucking loathe Max Kellerman. He doesn't even pretend to be objective. It's like he writes a script before the fight even starts and just follows it.
Berto is throwing punches with serious intentions, it's like he's trying to get Zaveck out of there early, that might end up being a mistake.

he is carrying alot of muscle. And he doesn't vary his punches. He throws alot of hard shots. Reminds me of Pascal in terms of build and throwing so many hard shots that can tire a guy out.Quote:

Not to the same extent but Zaveck's like Russell. If he moved his feet more when they other guys punching he would be so much more elusive. Just standing still covering up everyone now and then

Zaveck won round 4 on my card. Berto up 3-1 after 4 rounds.
Late in round 2 and in round 3 he has gotten closer. He is landing hte uppercut and getting off with some short right hands.
Is Zaveck cut on both eyes?
