Case closed! :smash:

Honorable CutMeMick? What is the sentence of Zab's chin for it's crime?
???
I demand that it be sent back to the manufacturer..... >:mad
It's as tough as Crystal glass.

Here is part of the reason we're looking at this differently. I don't view this as a title shot for Zab. I stopped paying attention to who owns meaningless belts years ago. Cotto isn't a champ to me, he's a very talented contender who is working his way up the ladder.
It doesn't really matter to me who owns belts, there's one guy in the division at the top right now, Mayweather. The rest are contenders.

Hey, I'm with ya, I think everyone would rather see Mosley than Judah. But who knows if Mosley really wanted this fight. I know he said he did, but would Mosley be willing to fight in MSG on Cotto's adopted home turf? Would Mosley be willing to fight on June 9 or would he want more time off? We don't really know.
Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
CutMeMick all i've seen you do in this topic is try to downgrade Zab. But I ask you this question.
IS Zab the best opponent Cotto has fought ???

I can see that and what you mean by it, in that case you know why Margarito is highly regarded, Zab declined an fight with him when Zab was champ., Baldomir declined a fight with him when Baldo was champ., PBF declined a fight with him when PBF was champ.
PBF jumped in the Div. and was lucky that Bladomir said and I quote "I'm here to make the best of it and that means fight PBF, I'm not fighting Margarito he knows that he and I talked" yeez! wonder what he meant by that... $$$$$
But yeah! I understand what your saying.....

Mick... what if Zab wins on fnf and then beats Cotto and you have to eat your words :( Then how are you gonna handle everyone going at you and danny_g?
You can say "What if" all you want. He's just rating Judah's chances. I don't rate them much better. But anybody could be wrong. He'll probably spark Pito. Pito was at his best at lightweight years ago. Cotto is a different kind of animal.
Honestly, you can't compare the Cotto of today against the Cotto against Torres. He has grown exponentially since then. He's not just a guy who bullrushes inside with earmuffs on and hopes not to get hit. I used to be as down on Cotto as anyone but he really is a changed and complete fighter.
Zab on the other hand is not a complete fighter. He's just not a very good fighter and a fighter who's will has been broken time and time again when faced with any sort of relentlessness. The last guy he beat who actually tried to fight him was Rafael Pineda. And an old and past his best Pineda almost beat Zab. Before that it was Corley. That fight was just as close as the Pineda one.
On the other hand...the way to beat Judah is to beat him with straight rights. Though another way is to have him backing up a lot without having him moving side to side a lot and it wouldn't be unreasonable for Cotto to accomplish this while scoring to the body with the hooks and break him down there. Floyd proved you could get him with left hooks. But it's still not the greatest style matchup for Cotto. He'll probably be troubled for a while until he hurts Judah that first time and Judah breaks down. He doesn't know how to get hit.
The way Judah he is probably going to have to go at Cotto is about the same way he went as Tszyu. Circle around most of the time then lunge in, try to get a couple off and get away just as fast. Bang away with straight punches and uppercuts. But I really believe that Zab doesn't have the poise to fight like that for 12 rounds. And the first time he gets hit coming in or moving out...what happens? 2 rounds of fighting like that versus Judah and he was already backing straight up with his hands down. Baldomir took 7 rounds to finally hit him good and when he did, Zab shut down. Cotto won't take 7 rounds.
Judah is a spectacular fighter when you put a fringe contender or worse in front of him.
Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
amat I really really respect your opinion on this site and got a lot of respect for you as a poster on this site. But there is no way the DeMarcus Corley fight was close. And if you want to play the aces Judah fought that fight with a broken left hand after knocking Corley down(according to post fight reports) so he beat Corley with basically one hand, and still that fight wasn't close. Not in my opinion. And I respect your opinion of the fight as close, but it wasn't and it wasnt anywhere near as close as the Pineda one.
And I remember not too long ago I watched a fight on I think Showtime, and it was Cory Spinks going to make his splash against the same fighter Rafael Pineda and it was my first time seeing him, they did a whole thing about his father and etc and then I watched him i nthe ring he looked absolutely horrid against Pineda. And looking at his record on boxrec after that fight he only fought overseas before he came back to beat Mayorga. Is that right ??? I also think Pineda in his prime even made Pernell Whitaker look bad. So even past his best he could probably do that to many good fighters. Nobody is calling Zab great, but to say he isn't good is just taking it too far.

No, Pineda got schooled by Whitaker. I don't think he won a single round the whole night and he landed about 10 clean punches. Typical Whitaker shutout. But Pineda was a good fighter in his day. Very heavy-handed.

SweetPea, I don't mean to offend you and I hope you do not get angry. You have your opinion and I have mine. I enjoy your posts and I appreciate the way you debate with out insulting forum members like other people do.
With out those meaningless belts Floyd would have nothing to stand on.
Floyd beat some bums who were holding belts and that is what fools people into thinking Floyd is God's second sending of Jesus Christ here on earth.
Baldomir was not the best of his division and neither was Gatti to be frank, the only person who might be considered the best in his divison was Jose Luis Castillo and Floyd was given a present.
Floyd has not fought the best of any division after his second fight with Castillo.
Let's look at who he fought after Castillo and tell me how many of the following fighters below are future hall of famers?
Carlos Manuel Baldomir
Zab Judah
Sharmba Mitchell
Arturo Gatti <----Maybe (should go only because he is very famous)
Henry Bruseles
DeMarcus Corley
Philip N'Dou
Victoriano Sosa
You are going to sit there and tell me this is the best opposition out there?
LOL
He ain't fought the best so how does that make him the best?
I find it very funny how Floyd mocks Oscar for fighting old boxers. 4 of those fighters I posted above were old.
Losing to B-Hop is nothing to be ashamed of even though he is old he is not done. B-Hop is the man.
In all fairness to Floyd he is a great fighter but he ain't no GOAT.

Then who is better at 147 right now than Mayweather? Even if I agree with the poor opposition claim just for the sake of argument, I still don't see how any of the other guys at 147 can claim to be above Mayweather in stature.

The fight was close imo. It wasn't a win for Judah but it definitely wasn't what he should have done. And he let Corley take almost all the middle rounds. Judah didn't win by more then a couple rounds and he didn't look good. Definitely didn't look like someone who deserved a rematch with Tszyu...
And I haven't seen the Spinks fight with Pineda but Whitaker outclassed Pineda. It was his last fight at 140 and his first fight before the first McGirt fight. Whitaker didn't lose a round. I watched that fight just a couple months ago, my grandpa has it on tape. Actually it was the night of the first Peter - Toney fight so a little longer then that. Whitaker schooled him.
And I really don't think Judah is that good. He's not a good inside fighter. He has a terrible defense. He doesn't have a very good head on his shoulders. He doesn't have that good of balance and he has a glass chin.
Basically, he has blinding speed and power from the outside. He's a one dimensional fighter. Sure his speed and power can be exciting and they can do in a lot of fighters...but he doesn't have to much beyond that in order to be a world class fighter.

I clearly said Zabs fought the better oppositon. Hes a former Champ. and has the credentials.
BUT
Hes lost back to back, and to be honest fuck! knows how his fight against this Israel guy is gonna turn out.... :(
So it makes sense for Cotto to fight someone who ONCE was at top,
then to fight someone who IS currently at top?
Not to me.....
Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
SweetPea, @ 147? Have him come down and fight Williams, Margarito, Cotto, Mosley or even the greeen Andre Berto.
He wont touch the 147lb d after Oscar. I am hoping to God that Oscar beats Floyd and forces him to stick around but he will most likely jump to 140 before touching 147. A fight with Hatton would be ok and ok for the Hatton hopefuls. He may also go after Spinks if he is stellar against Oscar.
But you know my chips are on Cotto. ;D
Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
As exposed and as beaten as Judah is he is the closest thing to a great fighter that Cotto has gotten. It's about time he fights atleast a some what respected fighter. I was begining to think that he was gonna retire having fought nothing but lemons his whole carrer.

CutMeMick stop thrashing Superman. You are hurting peoples internet feelings.
Re: ***Done Deal - Miguel Cotto vs Zab Judah June 9th!***
Wait...outside of DLH and Mosley...how many people are going into the HOF that are 140 and above?
