But Lacy is right,by the 5th they were allready talking about Joe/Bhop,thats how one sided they made it sound, when in all honesty,if it was on neutral ground you could make a strong case Kessler won it.
Regardless,it was a great fight, and congrats to both fighters
Wtf?? What fuckign fight were you watching?? Strong case for kessler winning it?? I have heard it all now.
The same one Ive rewatched twice now,Kessler catches most of the shots on his arms and hands
I too agree that it was a much closer fight than people are giving Kessler credit for... He was way more accurate, and landed the bigger punches in a lot of rounds when he only landedl ike 4 or 5 fewer punches. I truly don't believe good defense gets enough recognition in boxing.
You have to know where your fighting
Kessler HAD to be more active then he was
Maybe he can learn from it,maybe he cant, maybe he was hurt, maybe he wasnt
Allways know what ring your in
NOT even Kessler himself thought he WON the fight.
Hope this helps.
:coolclick: Agreed.
Honestly...I don't get people tossing up a baseless arguement. Kessler wanted a rematch because he lost everything that he worked for...but he knew Joe wasn't going to give him one to start. This was a make or break fight & Kessler did all that he could...but he couldn't break Joe.
The fight was not that close...I can't understand anyone giving Kessler more than 3-4 rounds. Some of the rounds were close...but not that close.
Personally...I was being as unbiased as possible...& I only saw Kessler taking 3 rounds. While I saw 2 even up...if I'm remembering right.
CC back - Wackster
Kessler put-up a great showing, he accepted he was beaten by the better fighter, he lost NOTHING in defeat, if anything GAINED by losing to a great fighter without being outclassed and GAINING a whole load of new fans...
I bet Kessler would be embarrassed by guys trying to make excuses for him.
Re: some people are getting it VERY WRONG.
Also, hitmandonny, that was a great analysis of that fight. Well-deserved CC.

in the first 6 rounds, he was aggressive and tried wading in, but couldnt out jab kessler and 2) he was getting rocked badly when he carelessly went in.
the n he started boxing more on the outside with fast jabs that were doing nuttin but scoring, no power. and then he'll do his usualy flurry and win the round. kessler always came back very well..
HE DESERVES A REMATCH. i think calzaghe has the bottle to face him but warren wouldnt let this fight happen even if kessler was willing to come over.
warren and previously admitted with khan that he is a business man, and wont risk his business by making khan fight against anyone with a pulse.
if you watch the calzaghe - kessler fight again, everytime kessler stuns calzaghe or even lands a jab, watch warrens face. he isnt gonna wanna go through anything like that again, its not good for the heart.
I disagree that Mayweather easily Ud'd De la Hoya, it wasn't a smooth night for Floyd and he didnt expect Oscar to be as applied as he was.
Oscar won the first half of the fight as have many of Floyds opponents sinc he has been weight hopping.
For Floyd he uses this as a method of letting the opponent tire themself out and then coming on strong for seven or six rounds. In this fight, the rounds up until 8 were competitive and Mayweather HADA to win the last four. Thats not an easy feat really.
U say that Joe threw no power punches after round six??
How is it Kessler himself said that he had been hurt in Round 8 to the body above any other time in the fight???
Re: some people are getting it VERY WRONG.
IMO, Floyd Oscar was close, defo Floyd won, but close. Yes Floyd showed good defence, but so did Oscar, am I the only guy here who thought Oscar parried most of Floyd's shot centre ring?
As for Kessler Calzaghe, Kessler won 2, 4, and 12, with 1 and 7 debateable, even if you were seriously biased you would still have to score it by 2 rounds to JC. As for a rematch, I just don't see the point, Kessler came in with a game plan to exploit all of Calaghe's weaknesses, which he did in some of the early rounds, but Calzaghe figured HIM out and clearly won the second half of the fight. A rematch may well be wider in margin since Joe knows how to fight him.
