Re: I F'N F'N F'N HATTTTEEE Spiders!!
I've modified this post to apologize for this being at the top of page 4 for all to see and completley unavoidable! I thought it would be right down, tucked away at the bottom of page 3 where you could avoid it if you wished.. ;D

I get these little black ones in my house about the size of a tick real small but look like they are evil...and they creep me out...I just don't like bugs in general
By the way where are you at? since you didn't mention daddy long legs because you did not think the UK or US had them
I live in Melbourne Australia..
Below i'm posting a few pictures of whitetail spiders which i've been talking about. Anyone that doesn't want to see them, well, to bad! I had to sleep with these bad boys under my bed.
http://www.amonline.net.au/factsheet...led_spider.jpg
This is a female with the fatter tail, probably full of babies.
http://www.amonline.net.au/factsheet...ed_spider1.jpg
This is the male.. This is absolutely IDENTICAL to the one that was in our kitchen sink a few days ago. Absolutely identical... Freaky bloody things!
http://www.termite.com/images/whitetailspider150.gif
One more which is a little clearer...
They are really horrible as they don't build webs in the corner of the roof like some, they don't like outside... Their preferable homes are - In between pillows, in beds, under sheets and blankets, in clothes on the floor, in shoes, in washing baskets etc... All the places you do NOT want to find a freaking poisonous spider..
While I looked in search of pictures, I found a website that lists some of the more common USA spiders... Man you guys don't have it much better...
http://www.termite.com/images/brownrecluse.gif
Brown Recluse.. This one is making me sick just looking at it. It's wispy legs looks like its built for running and attacking, and it says it's bites can cause significant cutaneous injury with tissue loss and necrosis.. Now why do women say we are pussies for not wanting parts of our arms to fall off?? oh, the website also comments on each spiders temprement... The recluse is quote : "Deadly and Aggressive"... Just want to you from a spider. You guys can keep this one :-\ o
http://www.termite.com/images/blackwidowspider.gif
Black Widow "Redback" Spider.. I'm sure everyone knows this one. Posted because they we also have those here in Australia. They hide under bricks and in the garden.. Just about every time i've turned a brick over in my life after it's been sitting outside for a while, their will be a redback under it. Don't usually come inside which is a huge positive.
http://www.termite.com/images/hobospider.gif
Hobo Spider - I had never heard of this one until this thread.. Looks like a big meaty bastard. I've quoted from the website "Venom toxicity - although the bite of the hobo spider is initially painless, the bite can be serious. After 24 hours, the bite develops into a blister and after 24-36 hours, the blister breaks open, leaving an open, oozing ulceration." You can also experience, loss of vision, memory loss, headaches, nausea, dizzyness.. among other things.. They love basements and don't usually climb to higher levels like roofs or second floors. Another you can keep.
http://www.termite.com/images/mousespiderfemale150.gifhttp://www.termite.com/images/malemousespider127.gif
Male and female Mouse Spiders... "can cause deep painful bite".. NO SHIT! I think these spiders would be able to have their way with me because i'd probably pass out just finding one... This can go on my list of reasons not to move to America!
http://www.termite.com/images/wolfspider150.gif
Wolf Spider.. Another one we have over here. A guy that lived behind my house was a garden buff, and he was bitten by one of these about 15 years ago, and his whole neck is covered in scars and skin grafts where they had to repair all the damage this spider did.. I have been terrified by this spider ever since I met this man, although I don't recall ever coming across one..
http://www.termite.com/images/huntsmanani.gif
My final mention goes to the Huntsman Spider.. These are very very common here in Australia as well and I have seen at least 100 through my life.. Usually inside high up on walls.. They are not poisonous, but their HUGE, hairy brown bodies, weird tangly legs, and lightning fast sideways running when you try to catch them make these spiders one of my most feared!!! I have seen a few in my life that spread out, were easily as big as my hand spread out to the tips of my fingers... Their bodies alone can get to as wide as 2 inches, and love being inside houses... Many people try to keep these spiders as they keep away a lot of flies and other spiders... Personally i'd rather 100 flies than 1 of these in my house..
Other common USA spiders mentioned were :
http://www.termite.com/images/grass-spider.gif
Funnel Web
http://www.termite.com/images/blackhousespider150.gif
Black House Spider
http://www.termite.com/images/trapdoorfemale150.gif
Trap Door Spider
http://www.termite.com/images/gardenorbweaving150.gif
Orb Weaving Spider
http://www.termite.com/images/standrewsspider128.gif
St Andrews Cross Spiders
Some of these are poisonous, some aren't.. All are ugly. All I would not want to come across. All are common to the US of A.. Please no one look up and quote Australian spiders... I can detach myself from the above pictures somewhat knowing they are thousands of miles away across an entire ocean.
Re: I F'N F'N F'N HATTTTEEE Spiders!!

Well it was common knowledge all through my childhood that they were very poisonous and caused horrible things to happen to your skin.. But over the last few years they have been debating whether or not the bites are that bad, and if some people were just more alergic to the bite than others...
I must say that the ones under my bed were no where near that size. It's just the start of summer here so most i've seen were around the size of a fingernail.. But within a few months of summer, they will get to the size in the pictures and be very dangerous.. The night I found them though, I layed in the exact centre of my bed with the light on all night, and tried to open my eyes every minute while I slept to make sure they were not coming up the walls.. It was a long night, but I havn't seen any in a week.
Re: I F'N F'N F'N HATTTTEEE Spiders!!
Yeah...I would have been laying on the bed at a local Holiday INN while I waited for the exterminator to tell me all was clear at home
Re: I F'N F'N F'N HATTTTEEE Spiders!!
Most of the ones around here are wolf spiders but to my knowledge they're not poisonous unless your allergic to them.

Ha, it's funny because this morning I went to send a package via the toilet and on the seat was a recluse. Glad I was paying attention, or I would have had another hole in my butt :-\

I thought you were trying to be silly  but I gave you the benefit of the doubt. I can't sell the one hole in my ass I have now{much as I've tried :'(} so what makes you think I could sell another one? Though a new one would be fresher and not as crusty :P
