Re: Photos: Joe Calzaghe is so small?
anyone else wondering how an Oompa Loompa like Enzo preoduced a son like Joe:confused:
As for the fight, I think Calzaghe is beat Bernard. It is well knowned that LH is not going to release any extra power from Joe because he is limited by his hands, but I think his stamina will actually improve. I can see him overwhelming Hopkins from round one and taking a comfortable points decision, maybe a very late stoppage, round 10.
Re: Photos: Joe Calzaghe is so small?
Win, lose, or draw...you have to admire what incredible physical condition Hopkins keeps himself in at his age. The man is 43 years old and he has a better physique than fighters half his age. Great discipline.

Hopkins as HOME advantage. Maybe Calzaghe wont handle fighting in Hopkins backyard.. but i doubt it.
Older guys has the experience advantage... Hopkins is 43 while Joe is 36... Hopkins already experienced everything (i think) but Joe has one thing he hasn't experience yet... that is LOSING a fight...
Hopkins has more life experience because he is older.. doesn't mean he has more boxing experience.
And yeah Joe don't know how to lose.. That's a HUGE advantage in his favour.
Add that to your list.
Not knowing how to lose is not always an advantage. Just because Joe has fought bums and won. It is actually a disadvantage. When he steps in the ring with someone of Hopkins calibur when things start going down hill, or not exactly the way he wants he will get worried. Plus not knowing what it's like to loose he will not have that motivation of not wanting to loose again. Therefore the extra boost you can get from that feeling will not be there to take. Loosing for the first time is more of a creep up and bite you in the ass thing anyway.

So it's a disadvantage to win?
If Joe had lost to a "bum" like Hopkins has he would have been better off.
Interesting.

If those 32 guys had faced B-Hop instead, they will be murdered... Calzaghe's hands right now were already fragile that might prevent him throwing "true" power punches... What Joe throws were mostly pitty pat punches... So I think Hopkins will be throwing the harder punches during the fight...
Dyou think Trinidad would have lasted as long against Joe, or Joppy, or Wright.
Taylor would have been knocked all over the place, didnt Jermain have Bernard floundering all over the place? Pavlik stopped him but Bernard couldnt.
Bernard will be happy to do what he did in the Taylor fight, he will realise he cant keep up early but it wont be like Taylor, Joe will keep the pace up and either Hopkins stays in his shell doing piss all or tries to fight and gets stopped;D
Why do people keep trying to discredit Hopkins because he lost to Taylor ?? Taylor is a hell of an athlete and if he had better stamina i think he could beat Calzaghe. Taylor has excellent boxing skills and a superb jab a much better jab than Calzaghe's IMO. And Hopkins only lost two razor thin decisions against Taylor its not like he was completely out classed. And yes actually i do think Tito and Wright would of lasted 12 rounds with Calzaghe 100 percent. Calzaghe hit a much lesser fighter like Lacy with 1006 punches and couldn't even stop him.
Pavlik stopped Taylor for two reasons 1 because of his punching power, and 2 because Taylor has not got good stamina. That doesn't mean he is a bad fighter just because he lost to Pavlik, boxing is all about Rock, Paper, Scissors.

I never said winning was a disadvantage. I said not knowing what it's like to loose can be a disadvantage. There is a difference. For example tasting a loss, is somthing that you can use to your favor not only in boxing but in life in general for future experience. It's just another aspect of the game that Hopkins knows about that Joe doesn't. I think it was pretty clear and legitimate what I was stating and your just being sarcastic about it. That's pretty lame fella.

Yep, Roach overdo it sometimes... but I still consider Roach the better coach, trainer and cornerman compared to Enzo...
So the advantages are ...
Size: Hopkins
Corner/Coach: Hopkins
Speed: Calzaghe
Age: Calzaghe
Power: Hopkins
Experience: Hopkins
Workrate: Calzaghe
.
It deffinitly is intruguing

Maybe it deserves sarcasm.
You're trying to paint LOSING as an advantage.
LOSING is NOT an advantage to WINNERS. Fact.

There are winners who have lost that HAVE benifited from loosing at some point. FACT. What is it with you anyway?

How much are affliction paying MMA fighters and boxers to wear those piss poor t-shirts?
If my mam had bought me one of those when I was a kid I would have turned my nose up at it.
